looks like a nice and simple kit. Minot - why not MInot, freezin the reason. what is amazing is B52s are twice and then some as old as the aircrew flying them.
I would just like to make a comment to anyone and everyone...If you are in the market for anything related to modeling....go no further...I only buy from Andys Hobby Hq..I will yell you why... Besides having anything and everything you may want.. The customer service is absolutely amazing..... I encountered a problem with a multi box order...I made simple contact through email...and with no questions asked...they re-shipped the item....very fast amazing quality and just great... And the fact that you can watch the build videos to guide or inspire you in you're hobby is again amazing. Thanks Andy! Keep it up! Joshua
This will go great with the B-1B Academy released a couple of years back (great kit, great fit). Even though GWH did one recently, I’ve been holding out for Academy’s.
@@grumble9160 They were similar in size, B-36 had just way bigger wingspan because his wings were almost straight while B-52 had swept wings because of its higher speed.
Way back in the before time I built the Monogram B-52 in 1/72. That thing was huge! The only place I could put it was on top of a storage cabinet where I couldn't really se it lol.
G.W.H. Has a new one, just built it. Great kit. I just also finished the Academy 1/144 B-1B, also a good kit. I wish they'd come out with a 1/144 B-2A Spirit.
Dear Andy, My grandfather threw a set of B-52 landing gear out of the centripital force machine at Wright-Pat during the 1950's, when he led that part of the componets testing unit. I joke with the guys from Sheppard AFB. they think I'm a liar. His boss was Le May. My grandmother used to have Air Force and B-29 Technical Manuals.
I had, a while ago, a Monogram 1/72 B-52. it was bigger than my 1/48 B-24 and C-47. Had absolutely no place to put it, so this looks like a great option! Thank you for sharing it.
I worked B-52F/G/H s when I was in USAF .. Spent 7 yrs at Barksdale and loved it... I will definitely be ordering this kit .. Hope you'll let us know when it is available! Great video!! Perfect way to start the week
I have became a big fan of Academy in past few years. Their recent kits are of great quality, with a perfect fit, very well thought assembly, not overly complicated, but still complex enough to make a great build and with PE (not in this super small scale) and masks included. And as a bonus colorful paint guide references both Tamiya and Gunze paint ranges. And all of that for about half of price of similar Tamiya kit where I have to buy PE and mask separately for quite a lot of extra money and will get black and white only paint guide with paints referenced as 50 % XF-xx + 30 % XF-yy + 20 % XF-zz, which I personally hate, because I'm not a big expert on mixing paints especially from three or more paints at once.
Ah the 20th. I remember when we stood that squadron up at Barksdale. The Chief saw the new squadron patch. I can't repeat what he called it. Kit looks good, though.
The real Airplane came to the Abbotsford B. C. Airshow in Vancouver, I actually saw and heard this airplane, in green fly over the Pay-less gas station , scary & loud!
Nice to see they moulded the canopy with roof, rather than separate glazing panels in the roof. Only kit released of late with what look like correct wheel bays. Bomb bay doors are straight on their back edge, should be curved, but this is true for all the kits out there except HpH. Wing root looks really nice. Wing tanks look awful, they appear to be tapered? Love the way they did the pylon to wing joint. Also nice to see we have separtae flaps, but do we have any tracks to hang them on? Bomb bay detail looks nice as does the antenna load out. I reviewed the GWH a while back.. mmmmmmmmmm hard to say which is better????
Been re-watching one of your old videos about building the 1/350 Ranger. I'd love to get that kit, but I don't have an airbrush. I'd have to paint it with just a regular brush.
Looks like a nice kit. I have the old Revel 1/144 B-52, and it really is a pretty large plane. Academy will probably release the missile armed versions next. I just wonder if the decals are usual Academy (👎) or if they had Cartograph (👍) make them?
Andy, I just looked at your website and saw the kit and ordered it immediately! Can you tell me what Tamiya paint I will need for the A/C? I have been doing Navy and Army stuff so I have loads of paints, just don't have USAF colors. Thanks.
So many awesome kits coming out! Cannot wait to build some of these. Currently building a Tamiya Abrams. Andy, do you know if any WWI era tanks will be coming out in the foreseeable future?
Andy, I recently sent you an email (lengthy) and haven't heard back yet but that's okay. I am in my mid-seventies and have just started back to modelling (forty years ago). I have spent a lot of time on RU-vid and decided that you have the best channel so I subscribed and joined. I'm going to wait for this Academy B-52 for now but will be getting some other stuff to work on my skills with. I did notice that when you refer to decals you call them "deecals" rather than what seems to be common now as "deckals". Small item but it makes a difference to me. I started by buying my models through Amazon because they were fast and shipping was cheap. In the future, I will be getting my materials and models from you. Since I live in Tucson the shipping shouldn't be much of a problem. Looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership. Can you let me know when the B-52 comes in? Thanks a bunch. BTW, I spent thirty years on active duty, ten in the Navy (P3 Orions and H3 Sea Kings) then I went on to spend another twenty in the Army, mostly electronic warfare in SF Intell. I live about two miles from the "bone yard" so if you need any pictures let me know.
Getting ready to build my 1/350 Massachusetts (like all of my model ship collection, it's actually my second build of that kit. I'm doing the correct colors, because I'm that much of a perfectionist).
Do you know if and more firetrucks or frist responder stuff will be coming out I really love build those? And if you can talk to the guys that make or design them If they can make some new stuff and maybe make some wildland firefighter stuff and/ or make so diaroma stuff for like wrecks or tools or fires stuff like that they make alot of money do stuff like that trust me
It would be nice if you make some series of videos about how to use products which you are selling in your shop. I think many of us would be glad for it.
And another boring grey late "H" model..like there wasn't one from Crown (repacked by Academy at some point, currently repacked by Minicraft), one from Revell (doesn't seem to be worse than this one) and one from GWH (looks better than this one). Sad thing is that in this scale the only high tail models are by Minicraft derived from the good old Crown kit... Somebody please make NB-52 with X-15 in 144... Oh well, man can dream.
