I'll unbox and perform benchmark tests on the ACASIS EC-7352 external RAID enclosure, which features USB connectivity. I'll utilize Blackmagic Disk Speed software on macOS for the benchmarks, focusing solely on HDD drives.
Buy the ACASIS EC-7352 on Amazon:

Or Buy on Aliexpress:

Thanks for the video. What would you say about vibration/noise produced by a 3.5" drive in it?
@hackthefreestuff
@hackthefreestuff 10 дней назад
You’re welcome. If you turn off the fan, barely you can hear the discs spinning. But it’s a small box and the discs produce a lot of heat, in the aluminium box can fry eggs with the fan off. So you need to leave the fan turned ON for the disc's health, and the fan it’s a bit noisy.

Hello! Could you answer a questuion about it? In Raid 1, if ine disk fail, the case will show any warning? (A red light mabe?) Does SMART work in this setup?

Can I just bypass the hardware RAID to use Software?

Sure, you can select the JBOD mode, and both hard drives going to be recognized as different discs for the OS. This way you can set up your software RAID.

If it’s going to be used exclusively in Linux use GPT partition and format in EXT4.

I bought same model but it seems it doesn't work on 3.5" HDD, but works fine using the 2.5" HDD

Verify if you’re providing enough power to feed the 3.5” disc(s), the recommended power source values are in the video.

I didn't see the fans. No fan?

There is only one 40x40mm fan, and it can be seen in the video during the mainboard presentation.

I purchase one of these, so far i've been so stressed with it that is making me sick ahahaha. For me it is a disaster, every time i try to write anything on it with my mac mini m1 it corrupts the archives on the drives. On PC everything is ok.

Did you format the system file in the macOS? Are you using ExFat or HFS? And what RAID configuration?
@luanrosa3022
@luanrosa3022 6 месяцев назад
@@hackthefreestuff i was using exFAT in RAID 0 and everything that i tried to copy from my Mac to the HD was corrupted, but the transfer occurred. When i reset everything and tried without RAID the drives worked on Windows but when i connected to MAC it would break and i would need to format. Using 4TB WD Reds that i bought new from a reputable seller that works just fine when connected directly to the windows machine via SATA. I think i just got a bad apple, already ordered another similar device from Orico.

Fico com medo de comprar pois este produto esta vindo com o conecto de energia de 4 pinos

The manufacturer it’s selling the product with different power sources (EU/US/AU/…), or without the power brick. If you already have a power brick with the power source values described in the video, you don’t need to spend on a new one, or you simple can buy the power brick in a electronic store of your country.

Avoid this enclosure, the disk goes to sleep and never wakes up.

Can you tell what combination of disks did you use? There is any warning in the S.M.A.R.T.? So far I been using this enclosure for 6 months 24/7 without any issue.

@@zizimai7568 I was having the same problem and discovered that you can update the firmware via the manufacturer's website. It's a bit complicated to understand how to do it, but if you follow it exactly, you can do it.
