Tough one to decide, narrowed it down to B1, HD, kanstul A. (HD, most versatile)(kanstul, most loud, pure)(b1, most normal) hope this opinion helps, good day!

The B3 and HD sounded great! I liked the B1 on the higher stuff too.

Wonderful playing and Schilke equipment. There's something to like about each of the configurations. If I had to pick 2, then the B5 and the HD.

It's really hard to tell a difference on these speakers, but I'm going to say B5 and B3 sounded best, with a very slight edge to the B3. A little cleaner, more compact.

Great video. Loved the B5 most because of the fat sound and overtones, especially on Joy Spring. HD second because it was very versatile and had big pure sound down low. B1 and B3 were nice. They all overshadowed the Kanstul.

I thought the B1 sounded best. Hard to tell even with the great microphone. I would love to hear your impressions as a player as you play them ex brighter darker full bodied. Easier blow. Thoughts about which are suitable for which kind of music to your ear. Love the comparisons Trent. Keep doing them! Thanks

That was fun! You hit me where I live there. I have a B1L (ML bore L bell) and a B4 L (M bore, M bell when you swap bells, you get a B2 and a B7. I should clarify for folks here that the B5 bell is the ML bell, not M. It is standard in copper and also used on the B6. All else aside, I love the L bell, though the M bell can really sizzle like mad if you lay into it! That Benge bell is really lovely, though, isn’t it? Really fat sounding. I’ll take one of them along with beryllium L and ML bells, please... in my dreams! *someday..

I wasn't just listening to sound, I was listening to which bell gave the best control and clarity: the evidence is clear as to which bell was the all-around bell for every gig and that was the HD. The B1 was next in the list. The B3 was 3rd best in the list. The kanstul sounded great as lead and therefore came in fourth as "jazz lead only". The B5 was dead last because it the least clear and seemed to be great for ballad or Chet Baker tunes but this bell robbed the the horn of the crispness I found I need on gigs. Especially recording gigs. A trumpet has to feel comfortable and spot on where you know you can center on what your doing. Since I wasn't the one physically playing I would have to ask you how you perceived this but you had less cracking on notes with the HD and you where more relaxed in the shoulders which sowed more confidence in what you were doing. That's what really matters: what feels more real.

Trent, ya sound great on all of 'em...who cares what others say, it's what YOU think sounds and feels best...I have a '72 B6L w a REAL beryllium bell...it can actually slice metal it's so bright...the bell w everything on it (plating, flange, rail bar, screws) is 5.5 ounces...scary light...not made like that in well over 40 years

It's hard to tell, but I liked the Arban's on the B1, the be-bop on the Kanstul and the Phil Collins on the B3. I don't know how you felt playing each of them - but the fact that you can change is nice. I have a Schilke B2 with a silver plated brass bell and a solid silver electro-formed bell. I've never performed with the brass bell, I played it once or twice, but immediately go back to the silver bell.

HD bell has the most pop and clarity.

I liked the B3! Seemed like the best mix of high overtones and middle/low end. Bright but still full sounding. The Kanstul A bell had that too but only really showed it on the lead excerpt. On Arban and Joy Spring the Kanstul seemed to take a little more effort?

Nice comparison. I liked the B3 for the lead stuff. The B1 and Kanstul sound similar to me, with their faster taper. I liked the B5 overall, probably liked the heavy bell the least which kind of surprised me. Thanks Trent for the video.

Arban, biggest difference from #1 to #2 - #2 more focused with fewer overtones. The others were similar but differed a bit. Joy Spring, more difference between each, but I think it had more to do with bell position to the mic. Phil, I could probably tell which one you played after 10 or so listens maybe. All good.

I would have liked you to try a solid silver schilke bell B1. I have the silver plated brass B2L and the B2L solid silver. I've tried the brass but now exclusively play the silver, for jazz and classics.

Impossible to tell much of a difference from a video recording. We need to hear them live. I am disappointed that there was no analysis by the author since he was actually playing it.
