I like the point you made about Tesla keeping things from the drivers unless it benefits his goal of pursuing the accelerons. When he finally shared with Kurt that Wylde had been captured by the drones he does it in a taunting way, almost vindictively at Kurt like he is still mad that he went undercover in the World Race. Since the portal was closed to the Junk Realm when Wylde was captured, it makes me wonder if Tesla also knew Kadeem was still alive and hid that from the drivers.
The way I see it; Tezla's greatest flaws are his ego, pride, misunderstandings, and maybe even a little paranoia. The reason he his so much crucial information is because he either genuinely believed it wasn't necessary to reveal, or that it would genuinely have a negative effect on the performance of the drivers. Sure, informing them of lost drivers would likely rally them to step up to the challenge and be more careful; but Tezla didn't realize that. I also believe he genuinely feared what the Drones would do if they had all the powerups, as his nightmare seemed very genuine. It all boils down to him misreading the room. His ego causes him to think he always knows best and that his decisions are the best, so he doesn't rethink his decisions to keep the drivers informed [also, I think its worth noting that both Lani and Kadeem agreed to keep all this information a secret, as well, so clearly -at least to some extent, they also believed in Tezla's reasoning] And his pride prevents him from confessing any of this to the drivers. Maybe he even believes informing the drivers of his doubts and wrong decisions will discourage or incite the drivers into rebellion [a self-fulfilling prophecy, in that case, but still] To me, it seems apparent that Tezla has trouble connecting with people and has built up a persona around himself of a confident wise, and stern scientist, maybe because he fears appearing weak or helpless in the presence of others, because they might judge him harshly. This is why his only close friend is Gig, because Gig is the only one he's ever been confident and secure around; especially considering Gig is a robot, and not a human
The time limit is a very good point you have.. If I was told I have a 50/50 chance of getting out alive with a 1 hour time limit, I would definitely be stressed, tense, and worrisome. Causing me to skip steps instead of treading lightly and take my time without lacking behind the others.
According to the World Race draft script, Tezla was 40 years old during the events of the world race. So if Tezla was a real person, he would be 59 years old by now.

Its pretty ironic that Dr Tezla choosing to not tell the drivers about the Silencers (because he thought that they might turn against him or that the drivers knowing would somehow hurt his plans) ended up completely destroying his ultimate plan of getting the accelechargers as the drivers lost 2 accelechangers (ice realm and metro realm) because they did not know the Silencers were there
technically speaking tezla didnt even know they were there either until he confirmed it in pipeline (his epiphany to suspecting them was karma doesnt lie and neither does taro). so tezla had no reason to suspect that the silencerz were even entering the realms prior. because as far as he was aware, they didnt know how. and at first, he was right. the first realm they entered was ice, but that was only after gig gave them the data necessary to construct their own holographic portal.
@@MasterOfTruckactually, the first realm they entered was Swamp (that we know surely). There is a scene of Taro and a racing drone, where a bug starts poking above his ceiling and he holds the bug stinger until it dies hiting something. In the next Scene the drone car disappears. I think this drone behind taro was from the silencerz looking out for him. Maybe even like Benji Castillo.
@@Malam_NightYoru nah. ice was the first they physically sent a car in. in prior realms they were only sending in x88 drones to observe. this is explicitly because every realm the silencerz entered they spent meddling with the drivers. and they did that to manipulate their sense of unity so the drivers would turn against eachother which hurt their ability to win. and silencerz have won every realm they entered after speed of silence with the exception of cliffside and ruins which they didnt enter at all, and junk was the only realm they actually lost because they suffered heavy casualties.
I believe that if Tesla had told them about the lost drivers sometime after the Swamp/Cavern realm, it would infact pump them up since they now know that it is possible to fight the drones equally. However, if he had told them after the Storm realm, it’s very possible most of the drivers would have left due to them already having been obliterated by the drones recently.
I think that Tesla didn't tell them because he believed that they wouldn't help him further his goals if they already knew that other drivers died or were lost under his watch. Tesla has a lot of trust issues, often only trusting himself. Which is evident by lines like "I only know what I have to do--uh what we have to do." Tesla only trusts himself, Kurt acts as a foil to that element. Kurt has trust issues too, his are founded on Tesla and Gelorum both having lied to and hiding truths from him and the drivers in the past. However, his is directed at Tesla because of what did happen. Tesla's probably directed at the drivers for what COULD happen. In short, he's probably paranoid. Also, Lani implied Tesla could have added the EDR sooner, he has it in his car at the start of Acceleracers. She then realizes it's because they have Accelechargers now, something Tesla doesn't want to lose. He couldn't care less who races, just what he gets and how his goals are achieved.
Tezla had definitely perfected the edr even before the drones took the wheel of power, how else would you explain him escaping hot wheels city in the first scene of ignition? You also have to assume some time had passed before gig went to recruit the teku and maniacs. The drones had 3 accelechargers in ignition not to mention the fact that we see balistik in the swamp realm so that tells us the drones completed 3 realms but how many did they actually attempt before our protagonists were called up? How much time passed from the first scene to nolo and torques race? Another big question is why didn’t lani race in the realms? Excluding Kadeem we know she saw 3 drivers from the world race who got stuck/lost in the realms. Another big thing to mention is when gig first shows up vert and kurt tell gig that telza wouldn’t even talk to them after the world race, to which he responds that telza needed all the nitrox for his drivers. It’s safe to assume the drones took it shortly after the world race, but the real question is how many drivers from the world race did telza actually sacrifice before calling our hero’s? And what did lani see that made her not want to go into the realms? She clearly has ptsd from something she saw, she probably wanted to leave but since she knew too much telza more than likely convinced her to stay and help him out. Telza is more of an antagonist than the drones he cared little for his drivers and only wanted the accelechargers the reason he didn’t call our hero’s was cause of vert. He was probably still working with the silencerz up until the wheel of power was taken and tried to warn them about the drones it taking but I bet they didn’t believe him since he was a madman obsessed with it. That’s when he went rogue and tried to take matters into his own hands, which would explain the very first scene in ignition why he would be in hot wheels city to being with
New idea how the time line goes between world race and acceleracers how long was it between the race finishing and Tesla was going get the wheel again then how long were the realms opened for the first time like did Tesla get the wheel after the realms opened or after it’s always confused me
