Maybe because English is full of Germanic words???
@marcoschlaff813
@marcoschlaff813 6 месяцев назад
@@fingerprint5511German accent is non-rhotic which means you don't pronounce the r's especially in the middle of a word when it's followed by consonants and in the end of a word. So beer becomes "beAH" instead of "beƏR" and burger becomes "buhGAH" instead of "burGƏR" etc etc. Almost all Canadian accents are rhotic and most of American accents are rhotic(also most of Irish and Scottish accents are rhotic too but except English, Welsh, Australian, New Zealander/Kiwi accents are mostly non-rhotic). Some American accents are non-rhotic for example the classical NYC accent or Bostonian accent. Both are non-rhotic but not very similar either. Only the non-rhoticity is the biggest similarity between them. For example in Boston they're saying "I'm eating losbter" like "UHm Ēďin' LAHbsTAH" while in NYC they're saying it like "UHm Ētn' LAWbsTUH". The big difference is that how New Yorkers pronounce "lobs" as "lawbs" and "ter" as "tuh" while the Bostonians pronounce it more like "lahbs" and "tah".... Even they some of them may pronounce "lobs" as "læbs"! But actually it's pretty unfortunately that nowadays younger Bostonians tend to adopt and speak with general American accent while there's some twang in there while the population of New York City has been moving in and out and many people from outside of New York City from other states in the US has moved into the city in recent times so there are more New Yorkers who are now speaking with general American accent either they adopted it and abandoned their classical NYC accent or many people from outside of the city(especially from other states) have moved and blend into the local society that has made the accent of the city diluted and making the locals adopted the general/neutral American accent but it's clearly that the main reason is that the locals(especially younger New Yorkers now) adopted the general American accent when they're speaking and their classical one is waning now and that's why NYC accent now has been becoming rhotic and sounded like a general American accent though there are some places in NYC boroughs where many people still speak with the classical NYC for example in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island(the people in Staten Island who still speak with the classical NYC accent is gradually declining since many people moved out and other people from other states moved in but also the locals adopted the more general American accent). And so do in Boston where younger people there tend to speak with general American accent but you can still hear it when people talk in a classic Bostonian accent! It doesn't mean that the general American accent replaced classical NYC & Boston accent entirely but rather the process is gradual and not all people in NYC and Boston have adopted and speak with general American accent(but many people have and do). So yeah. That's why beer sounds like German since German accent is non-rhotic just like English, Welsh, Manx, Kiwi, Aussie, classical Bostonian & NYC accent! While almost all varieties of accents in Canada are rhotic and most of American, Irish, Scottish accents are also rhotic! The origin of classical Bostonian accent is from the Puritan English settlers from East Anglia. While the accent had been declined in use but the immigrants from Ireland and Italy revived it alive! So that's why the Bostonians speak with that accent but actually now it's declining again and many but not all of the younger generation Bostonians have adopted and speak with the general/neutral American accent. But unlike Bostonian which is directly from East Anglia. NYC accent was rhotic! And they began copying the London accent during the industrial revolution and also the big immigration to the city in the mid to the late 1800s! Their accent was originally rhotic but they began copying London accent! That's why a lot of people have been saying that the classical NYC accent sounds a lot like London accent!

@@fingerprint5511English isn't full Germanic by the way. If you insist on that go have a look at French and German and compare it right away to English and you can see the similarities either the French or German words are more recognizable.... Even this sentence contains a lot of French/Latin/Romance words! Even(Germanic)-This(Germanic)-Sentence(Latin)-Contains(Latin)-A(Germanic)-Lot(Germanic)-Of(Germanic)-French(?)-/Latin(Latin)-/Romance(Latin)-Words(Germanic).... Have a look at Spanish and you can see why do English speakers are more familiar with Romance languages rather than other Germanic languages! Thanks Normans! You brought so many French words(and also Norman version of Parisian/standard French words) to English! You also even made the English almost lost their language by enacting French as an official language of England for almost 300 hundred years long! That's crazy and the English almost speak French if French was still being the official language of England for more than 600 to 700 hundred years since the local English could possibly fully or entirely adopted the language of their rulers(the French!). Also there are more "French" words in English than in French itself! For example the words that are derived from the Norman French and Parisian/standard French like guardian(Parisian) or warden(Norman), frenetic(Parisian) or frantic(Norman), fidelity(Parisian) or fealty(Norman) and many more! Gosh that's insanely crazy! Even the word insane is of Latin/Romance/French origin! You can't speak English without throwing some Romance words but also you can't speak English by not using Germanic words. 75% of every day spoken English words in conversation are of Germanic origin while when you're talking so long like this or in a formal way it could be that the French words appear more than Germanic words! Even the word appear is of French origin! Even the word origin is of Latin origin! Gosh I'm dizzy right now thinking all the words that I'm expatiating! Even the word expatiate is of Latin origin! It's brutal how English is an ambiguous language whether it wants to be a Germanic or Latin/Romance! The base of English is Germanic but English had inserted many Latin words into their body! So this is what we ended up having it like that! English is a hybrid language which is more Latin in some ways but also Germanic in every day simple conversation but even in every day life you can't speak English without even throwing some random Latin/Romance/French words like "literally"! They literally speak like that! Just like Maltese which is also an ambiguous language! It can be Arabic in much of ways but it can be more Italian in some ways! My head's gonna explode! Oh explode is of French/Latin/Romance origin!!

And someone's an r comes out like leia and would be leiyer and, so it didn't exactly work out. Aslo, a lot of words while speaking British English can be confused as other words, while not the case in American English.
