Environment variables now allow for referencing secrets stored in Azure Key Vault. These secrets are then made available for use with Power Platform components, such as Power Automate and custom connectors. The actual secrets are only stored in Azure Key Vault and the environment variable simply references the secrets.
In this episode of Citizen Can Amey & George walk you through the real-life scenario where secrets stored in Azure Key Vault can be used to protect sensitive information. The secrets then can be surfaced in Power Automate as environment variables and without leaving any footprint at all.
Using Azure Key Vault secrets with environment variables requires that configuring Azure Key Vault so that Power Platform can read the specific secrets to be referenced. We'll walk you through the very straightforward setup process explaining and demonstrating some of the most common catches.
