Your tutorial on access control was outstanding! The effort you poured into it truly shows, and every piece of information was incredibly valuable. As someone relatively new to the industry, I found it to be the perfect introduction to access control. Security is paramount across industries, and your video provided an insightful overview that was both comprehensive and easy to understand. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
I have a question about the adhesive tag mentioned at 27:00. You mentioned this is commonly used for equipment like laptops for inventory. Can this be configured to track the staff ID that takes the equipment as well?
Great Video! Can you you assist me.I have an ioProx P225XSF that is calling for a 22 awg 3 UTP cable. What will happen if I install a shielded cable? They specify Unshielded. What is the difference between installing twisted and untwisted.Thank you.
It probably won't cause any issues. shielded is just more expensive for the added resistance to interference. Twisted wire pairs helps data travel more effectively.
are rex buttons supposed to be wired back to the panel? I thought they were supposed to be wired directly into the lock power at the door, especially for mag locks, in the event of a fire, etc you don't want to depend on any hardware to kill power to the mag. Is this wrong thinking?
That is a great question. REX devices are indeed wired back to the panel. NFPA requirements force the use of a power supply for the Maglock situations so that the fire panel kills power to the lock in a fire event (fail safe). Some facilities will allow for fail secure or lock down situations like prisons but those are rare. Going back to the fire panel point, the access panel or any of its accessories can not be in control of opening the door in the event of a fire. Power to all of the locks must be shunted. Note NFPA is a USA standard and might not be followed in your area. Always discuss this with your local fire authority. Thank for such a great question!
@@SilmarElectronicsInc so should the leg of a rex button be tied into the rex motion and the other tied into the negative of the power for the maglock then?
Sir i have installed electronic lock with access control system .but when I open it using card ,fingerprint or pin code ,it makes so much of electrifying noise for 5-7 sec .how to shut that noise .
This guy's grammar is terrible and very frustrating. He's saying "ugh" and "uhm" every 2 seconds. He didn't even know the Electric Strike functions. Smh
Huh? I caught the end of his rehearsals but the strikes arent stuck on a specific function are they man? Like storeroom you are locked in but teach has to key you out
