Colin O’Brady is a world record holding explorer and mountaineer, motivational speaker and New York Times bestselling author. In this inspiring conversation, Colin shares incredible stories from his record-breaking solo trek across Antarctica, and we discuss the medicine we’ve both experienced in the darkness and the importance of letting yourself feel the full polarity of life.
As a note to the listener: After recording this show, Colin almost died in a crevasse during another Antarctic expedition. Blessings that he survived, as he’s truly a gift to humanity.

Needless to say an amazing effort. When I was 29 I undertook a lone horseback ride (with a pack horse and a riding horse) through 3 southern states. A lone woman, two horses, no cell phones, no gps. Just a map planning out the route every day. Everyone asked me why I did it, I still don't have an answer except that I woke up with the birds and went to bed at sunset and never felt more in tune with nature. And the people along the way were incredible. Often inviting me, a total stranger, to sleep in guest rooms, fed my horses and fed me (I was so tired of tuna with macaroni and peanut butter/jelly sandwiches!). I always wanted to do it and my thought was "I don't want to get to 80 and wish I had done it." I am now 70 lol and any time I doubt what I can or can't do I remind myself "aren't you the one who took a horseback ride back in the early 80s?" and my doubts disappear. lol. Live your dream, and even though I didn't get to Montana (the original plan) it was well worth it! thanks for your work Aubrey I enjoy all your podcasts!

Omg… I balled my eyes out.. am still actually… hearing Colin describe the story of his burns accident and his mother’s boundless strength of spirit… I have snot all over my face 😂. My mother did a similar thing for me at age 22 when I stopped moving and talking travelling on the other side of the world. Here’s to all of our Mothers. No matter what happens… they are doing thier best to the best of thier ability. Please do call your mum Colin Brother… or visit and hug her. 🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀🙏🏽

Wow! Such an amazing young man! What he did would be hard in normal conditions, but most of us have anything to compare doing that in those temps! It’s one thing to read, go to gurus or do mind altering substances (which can be helpful) but he Truly, organically tapped into his spiritual strength and Used it! That’s powerful!

Crazy. Wish I could participate on Saturday's 12-hour experience but I have a class to attend. I'll try to participate as much as possible. Saturday is a fast day for me as well, so would be a powerful day for me to spend with myself. Way too much to unpack from this podcast. Very Powerful! Thank you!

This reminds me of Sun Salutation ritual on the Solstice. His experience is much more extreme and incredible. There is something to pushing your body with your mind and it aligns with spirit. 💫 Inspiring, thank you for this!

Also, thou shall not worry about things said with your mother/parent, R.I.P. She might have given you pointers for the rest of your life, and you should just let it be and it'll all fall into its proper place. 🙏 Blessed Perfection Congratulations on the baby!

I just don't understand everyone wants to be the first person in the world did something.. .. like everyone wants to be famous of something...
@juliafricke1593
@juliafricke1593 8 месяцев назад
I don't think it's about being famous. I feel it's about having the largest most challenging undertaking that you've never heard anyone do. Isn't that just a matter of being inspired to greatness? Nothing wrong with that. It's really all in the perspective; whether you see it as striving to be recognized or striving to overcome a huge challenge.

@@juliafricke1593 Classism. This is where and why we have so many problems in this society of today. Thirsty of recognition and validation. We are not first beings ever existed. So many human beings have lived before in a very harsh and severe weather millions of years ago ...only what they missed is internet and handsets. I would say thanks to the internet because now we can read and hear everyone's daily life from sunrise to sunset and repeat. So I totally disagree that I have never heard anyone do it. So many history books have mentioned so many legends! Unfortunately very few are still reading history books of our legends. Good to share experience but no one has been ever the first. Africa for example was the most powerful continent under the sun. But now we call it a shit hole.

So you felt judged and not inspired? I find that what we do, we do everywhere. Think about how often you feel offended vs hearing the underlying message for your growth. ...And EVERYTHING is for our growth. And please, don't feel attacked. I'm here to shed light and love so we all get cracked open and shed the stuff that holds us back from the sacred truth.
