Can the SMA Sunny Boy US-41 be configured with only the AC lines connected to the Main Service Panel? Configure inverter before the solar panels wiring is completed.

I have a 2 week old inverter. Works great but the ‘knock’ feature doesn’t work. What am I missing to make it work again. It worked great for 2 weeks. Help please
