My favorite from my own life was the ice shot glass party set. You could make about ten shot glasses of ice. They worked well, got your shots cold and if one got dropped by someone who had too much, it just melted.
My 30oz Zak from Target was about $8 a few years ago. No handle, but I got a neoprene carrier that’s got strap long enough to be carried as a crossbody. I think that was $8 or so too. So together they were 1/3 the price of a Stanley cup. And it does keep my drinks cold for hours.
Ordering especially on Amazon is really annoying lately. So many products make claims they don't produce on. I feel like a lot of these "companies" are only in the business of selling items and hoping the majority don't ask for refunds.
Yes, I read lots of reviews both on Amazon, and online, before I order anything on Amazon. I also try to have a real purpose for my purchases, and I want things to last, so I tend to buy better quality, more expensive items. I use things until they no longer function... I'm that person who refuses to buy bigger and better tech because it's available, or replace mugs or dishes that I already have usable ones at home... Perhaps I'm cheap? Or behind the trends ?
The Ice mold do look pretty neat, but I expectfor many the issue will be how much space it takes up in the freezer, also you'd need multiple if you have more than one family member using it.
16 ounces of water turned into ice, put into 40 ounce tumbler, 24 ounces of space remaining. Math checks out. If anything I would have expected less capacity by 1-2 ounces because ice expands.
@@bahamutbbob Sure but he didn't fill it to capacity. I was only stating that if the container was filled to max line (40 oz) AND the ice was floating, the total volume available would be 40 oz. This is inescapable if the two components are water and water ice.
Funnily enough, I just ordered one of those ice makers for the metal tumblers the other day (No, its not a Stanley, Im not stupid to overpay ). There is a sling bag to hold your water cup, so you could accessorize both up chain and down chain with its fanny pack :D
The pink bag looks like a cheap version of a molle bag. If it had a little curve to it then it might be slightly better but looks like something from temu
I get the plastic storage containers for food from the Dollar store, fill them with water and put them in my freezer. When frozen I pop the ice out into a large freezer bag and hit it a few times with a hammer until it's the size I want ,put it in my insulated cup, put what's left in the freezer. In the Florida heat my cold to go drink stays icy cold for hours .
i wonder if being in the heat the silicone expanded a bit to make it more spill proof maybe? i imagine the first test was done in the cold. Great vid as always!
The ice mo.d would be the only thing I’d consider buying. I can think of other uses for those ice tubes that just the tumbler. Would be useful if you would try these accessories on other brands, as well.
If you have no problem drinking out of restaurant glasses and putting restaurant forks in your mouth, why would you care if someone drank out of a cup that you're about to steal?
I bought a 40 oz Hydraflo from Amazon before the Stanley Cup craze. Love it. I like it better than the Stanley Cup. Bought the ice cube tray recently and it works great. The lid is a little wonkey.
The anti leak fittings were probably softer plastic that 1) deformed to fit the cup better throughout the day after being installed and 2) became slightly more snug when the metal cooled down and improved the friction fit around the bits,
The leak stuff is good for stopping bugs getting into your cup. I left my cup with a bit of soda in it and it ended up with tiny flies in it over night. I installed one and have never had that problem again.
The ice mold is cool. Think I’ll stick to my Tervis tumbler (because designs are fun) and the cheap tumblers (that are actually incredible quality) I find at TJMaxx.
@@MustachioFurioso9134 Indeed, there's plenty of better or equally effective cups at a lower price point, but they haven't caught the public eye. Why would Stanley bother making the product better when people will buy it just to say they've got one?
@angelashortall9778 Little bit of Lead never hurt anyone. Lol. Just adds another layer of flavor. There's retrace amounts of lead in pretty much everything in daily life. As long as it doesn't break recommended levels then not much to worry about.
The ice mold seems like a cool idea (no pun intended). However, watching you remove the ice makes me wonder how long it will last before the silicone mold rips? Yes, you could wait a bit longer before removing the ice but, how many people will actually wait for the ice to melt even slightly just so it will extend the life of the mold?
I bought my tumbler from Temu. The leak-proof straw part is cross cut and a round straw still leaks. I have a sleeve type 'coat' that fits totally around my 40 oz with a pouch and shoulder strap and I like it.
I'm gonna be devil's advocate for that shade of pink. I think it was more popular several years ago when everyone loved rose gold, but I have some yarn I'm crocheting with right that's a similar color. Looked up the colorway and it's "mahogany rose." Dusky pink might also be a good descriptor for it? It is definitely a bargain-bin-Amazon kind of color now though when it comes to tech stuff.
I was a Rocky Mountain tumbler poster child LONG before Stanley got so popular, and I can tell you the best ice to use is solid core. Either cubes or ice balls, bigger the better. I can make ice water and let it sit overnight and still have ice the next day...or at the very least, really cold water if I start pushing 24 hours.
Rubber grip on the bottom of the cup is a bad idea… I know from experience.. it will try to flip everytime you put it down and won’t slide at all if bumped. We slide cups more than we think.
Might not be the issue. But i think the straw has to be put through the lid the other way. Based on the video you pushed the gasket out with the straw. Not pushing it in This could still be a defective product but thats my thought process.
I think the ice is pretty good. Don’t have to fight ice cubes to get the straw in the cup! The dusty rose bag isn’t too bad, but definitely way too short.
Well, one sad thing is it's only for the Stanley cup, but I think that you can use the smaller ones you know, just by themselves and other types of cups. The thing that the only thing that I like about this is the fact that the ice won't clump together and make it so the straw won't go down the center. It keeps a nice big opening in the center of the ice. So you can put your straw down in it, and you're not fighting with the ice cubes, because I'm constantly using my knife. My better knife to break up the ice cube so I can stick my straw down into the cup so that kind of drives me crazy. So I do like this idea, but it's not for all cups, right? So it's pretty cool though. I mean, you could put the big one in and then the little 1 in the center in a bigger cup. Or you know, the I don't know, I mean you don't have to use all 3 in in different types of cups, so it's pretty cool. I actually like my round ice cubes. The best but they do stick together so unless you have a good amount of water in there already you can't pour the cubes in and then put the water on top because then they all stick together with a little round ice cube. So and that's just period it aint gonna yeah? Be any different when you're talking about frozen water, so this is pretty cool.
Hi James... I like your contents concept. Good job showing honest reviews of everyday products & gadgets. Here is my comment. Instead of verbally saying the item names & prices, perhaps you should add some captions or graphics of said items. It might take some of your time in post editing, but it's more pleasing for the viewers to watch.😊
The leak proof bit is a throw in with the pouch i'd never expect it to be good, As for the pouch i'd have no use for it and i would not want to leave my valuable attached to a cup, an object that would easy for someone to grab and walk off with and draw no notice from any one. The molds work but that is way more ice than i typical use with a cold drink as i hate my drinks getting watered down as the ice melts, i likely would not buy this mold but even if i did i would only use it when i was drinking water.
Only a pink pouch, unless they're going for some 80s vibe or something you would think they would have another color available. Well I suppose this would work for drinking in public in a pinch, better than brown bagging I guess
That color is called "dusty rose," in some applications it's considered an elegant and sophisticated color, although perhaps a bit old fashioned by today's standards.
My daughter put on some Dusty Rose fingernail polish today. I wasn't familiar with the color. First time I've seen or heard about it. It looks okay, sort of a toned down pink, not a Barbie Pink.
The pouch color is ridiculous! The anti-leak parts are ok, but I think they are pretty much unnecessary. I really like the ice mold. I am going to buy one of those. I use a Costco knockoff Stanley Cup and hopefully the ice will fit my tumbler. Worth a try. I currently use sphere ice molds. I like them because they melt slowly. It will be interesting to see how the new mold will work.
I honestly wonder why people, pay a ridiculous price for a Stanley cup other than it’s a big deal on TikTok! I have a collection of 24oz. Cups thst keep whatever I’m drinking nice and cool - the handle o the Stanley does look handy though!
Please review this Umbrella. 3 In 1 Umbrella With Fan And Mister, 2024 New Misting Umbrella With Fan, Fan Umbrella With Mister, Umbrella Misting Fan. I just found out about it on RU-vid shorts and I thought maybe you would love testing it out. For the price is like almost between $50-$90. I’m not sure about how long this product would last and I know you were view a product for a year so please do this product for the summertime🤞🥺
the things companies do to sell products 😂plus the tumbler is the size of my head whatever happened to a good old cup or water fountain love your outfit
So when someone see's that purse thing attached to your tumbler, it will be easier for them to walk off with the tumbler and your valuables. It must have been designed by thieves.
The reason the straw probably quit leaking is because you push the straw through from the top instead of from the bottom which made a better seal around the straw
You rocking the ice back and forth, wasn't annoying. I was just waiting for you to break them, and have to start over. I would have gotten a good laugh.
people will do anything and spend anything to have a leakproof cup EXCEPT for buying an ACTUAL leakproof cup. there are so many stanley cup lookalikes that are leakproof (and lead-proof)
Yeah, just slap your phone, your ID, and your debit/credit cards onto an object that, sooner or later, you're going to set down and leave unattended. Nothing bad could ever possibly happen. Nope. Not a chance.
