Hey Robert, you should try putting a piece of wood or 2x4 under the table in the back where those monitor arms clamp to give it some thickness if the clamps will open that far. It would add a lot of strength to the table top. Great Job and Love the traveling!

Some really nice modifications there. Always fun to "dress up" a new trailer to get it such that it meets our needs. Only one I am not sure about is your ladder....but hey, it is not what works for me, but what works for you that counts in your RV. take care and safe travels as always......

I'm totally with you on the idea of a small projector and screen - makes SO SO SO much more sense than a TV for so many reasons. We do the same thing and have a projector that can be used on its own battery but that battery doesn't last 2 hours.

Cool ideas. There are 2 issues that may need reconsidering. Towels being so close to the toilet tends to collect unwanted bathroom particles. Also, shower loofahs should be dried and stored in a dry place since shower humidity accelerates bacterial growth. Just some things to help. Great channel.

We love your videos and faithfully follow your travels as you release a new one. We're very excited that you are finally traveling to our lovely state of Alaska and are certain you'll have an awe inspiring and memorable trip. We are probably a bit prejudiced, but we don't think there's a more beautiful road to drive than the Alcan Highway, one which we've traveled dozens of times. The last time we traveled the Alcan was last summer when we brought our lovely Micro Minnie 2108TB FLX to her new home in Alaska. Sorry Robert, a Micro Minnie has already paved the way! :) Have your camera ready as you pass Black Bears, Grizzlies, Wood Bison, Moose, Caribou, Deer, Wild Horses, Mountain Sheep, Eagles, Hawks, and even the occasional Wolf, Lynx, Fox, Owl, etc., etc. Here is a little advice that might help you out. Plan ahead where you might like to stop for the night. Campgrounds can fill up fast during the summer months in the more remote areas of BC and the Yukon. Bring at least 5 gallons of fuel, though you shouldn't have to touch it since services are all open during the summer season. But do top off and don't let your fuel tank drop below 1/2 because some of the fuel stops are 200+ miles apart. Understand that winters are very rough up North and that frost heaves take a toll on the highway, so expect the yearly road maintenance delays as the crews attempt to level the highway until the next summer. Also, bring along windshield chip repair kits that you can get at Walmart, etc. You WILL get hit with stones as cars and trucks kick up the gravel from winter’s sanding and summer’s road construction. An unrepaired chip can quickly turn into a cracked windshield due to the rattling and rolling of the highway. One last thing, you might want to rethink leaving the monitors attached to your table while traveling. Once you get to the western side of the Yukon and on into Alaska, the road can get extremely rough due to the frost heaves, not to mention the various road construction areas. Everything in Minitini IV will take a beating, and that’s a guarantee! We’d hate to see your monitors get broken or the table and wall get damaged because of the inevitable shaking. Placing them on your bed shouldn’t take much time out of your daily setup and teardown, and it will certainly ensure everything will arrive alive. Please have a very lovely trip and enjoy the scenery. You’ll never regret your decision to travel north to the Last Frontier!
@TravelingRobert
@TravelingRobert Год назад
Thank you. Yeah the monitors didn't last long there, even in the smoother Florida roads so they've been going on the bed every day,

Hi , I used over the door hooks. They can be used inside or outside of the bathroom door and are easily removed, just lift up. They are non-intrusive compared to a towel rack. I use those velcro command strips to hold everything on the walls. So, far everything has stayed put during 3years of brutal hot and frigid cold. Happy camping!

Alaska was the one place my husband and I wanted to see. So we bought an old (1997)used class C the year before retirement and fixed it up inside and out and did 2 weekend camping trips with friends then hit the road to Alaska from Maryland. LOL We didn't know you shouldn't do a trip like that as an almost first trip. We had such fun and until we came down into Montana had not booked a campsite! We figured the worst that could happen is none available and we could Boondock! Found in Montana we didn't check events and Sturgis was happening!

Command tape? Everytime we use that a ghost comes by and pulls down whatever it is holding up sometimes breaking it. I would use the external grade 3m two sided tape to stick thing. It comes off with alcohol, acetone, and a putty knife. And even then it sometimes releases if you don't clean the surfaces properly. With that being said, my wife still uses it. And things still fall - it is so well marketed.

Clever and useful mods from your many years of experience, so thanks for sharing. But those steps.... please do something safer than those loose ones (or put the original back) as they will only be stable on firm level ground; we do not want to have a fall!

To hold the monitors against the wall. Try an Obie net or a truck tailgate net. some command hooks on the wall and hook the net.

@roadtripwarriors7458 Год назад
Hi Robert! I don't know if you already did the mod on your steps yet, or not, but we have similar stable steps on our 2019 E-Pro 19BH. To alleviate the problem that you mentioned, we just removed the extensions from both sides and after about 20 camping trips, we had to add them back only once. Before we removed the extensions, we would have problems similar to what you described. Don't know if your steps could be modified like ours but I guess it is worth a try if you have not already removed the steps. We actually love the stability of those steps.
@roadtripwarriors7458
@roadtripwarriors7458 Год назад
UPDATE: We just completed a cross country road trip from FL to Washington state (with almost 40 stops) and have also decided to remove our stable steps. When we overnighted in certain places (Walmart, Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops, Rest Areas, etc.), although our RV was level, many times we would need to lift the door side of the RV so that we could close the door. It had become a bit of a headache and we decided to try something different. Coincidentally, it looks like you are using (as of the date of this video) the same solution we have chosen. I look forward to following your Alaska journey.

Hey Robert, happy Wednesday! The fisheye lens in the beginning--is that your 360 camera? I use a fisheye on my camera a lot--it's fairly easy to fix the "weird" look of the image with software while still keeping most of the wide angle field of view. As far as accessorizing, goes, I have to imagine it's a given for anyone getting a new rig--the work just begins once you get it home! (And I guess it gets expensive pretty quick) So, how many days until you hit the road for "The Last Frontier"? Happy trails!

I found out what was causing water to get in my pass through storage compartment. The hatch doors did not have any sealant behind them when they were installed. Just a small bead of silicone around the mounting flange which failed after 3 years. I would have thought there should be some butal tape around the flange before they installed them. I removed the hatches and sealed behind them and reinstalled. I wouldn’t count on Winnebago to make future improvements. These campers get worse every year. Thanks Winnebago!

I really don't understand Winnebago's idea of such a minimalist bathroom. Basically, you have to rebuild it to be usable. And, with all the stuff you have added interior wise (to do your blog / YT work) you have sacrificed a lot of storage space. Basically, the new rig seems cramped for one person, tough proposition for two. But, you seem to like it, so hope it works well for you Robert. Safe travels and maybe we'll see you on the road.
