People tend to go crocked overtime when they have no one to answer to. It doesn't matter how decent a person is. If law enforcement didn't exist you'll end up speeding one day even if you drive at speed limit everyday.
@@NorthridgeFix Freewill enables humans to be crooked or decent beings, not upholding faith or fear in a God. You can have faith in a God and still be a crooked individual, or fear a God and be a decent person. Freewill gives humans the power to choose. Just like an individual can choose a certain religion because of freewill. Be blessed, thank you for your hard work and uploaded videos.
@Smattless Wow. So this man works hard, displays moral and ethical character, and decides to allow his error to be shown and to do the right about it while explaining the reason he did it and you attack him. Then you try to speak for the majority. You sir are the only MORON here. He has the free right to express his religious beliefs and practice his religious beliefs just like anyone else and I will not stand by and say nothing when people like yourself try to infringe on that. Besides I TOO believe in God and believe that accountability to Him makes me a better person in the long run. Great job with the video and for being a man of integrity @NorthridgeFix.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. ~ C.S. Lewis I find your honesty to be refreshing. You have not only made a customer out of me when I need to buy supplies, but more importantly it will be my pleasure to spread your shop’s name around to those in need. I believe that’s the highest praise a man could give another man.
I salute you, been totally honest for your customer's. Felt your pain when it slipped from the table, this may of been a out of pocket job to you but word spreads quickly that your a top guy looking out for your customer's best interests. Your vlogs are great. Cheers 👍👍
I’ve worked in repair shops like this before, and have unbelievable respect for you man. Profit margins are always super thin (just buying new gear is usually only a bit more expensive than the labor time it’ll usually take for fix tough stuff), customers are alwaysss assholes or at the very least crazy ignorant, you’ve always gotta do things urgently, and when you fix one thing you’ve still got more mystery things to diagnose and fix so you don’t have time for the elation of successfully fixing a device. But the SKILLS man, the freaking skills. The most unsung, most skilled, most stress-handling heroes in the IT industry. You guys are amazing.
damn, you kept leaving it on the edge of the table even after it fell... I would have been placing everything as far away from the edge for at least a week after, you're a brave man lol
just found your channel . i'm a phone repair too been in this job for 14 years it hurts when sometimes you mess up and break something and you have to fix it from your pocket but when the customer come take his working phone with a big smile on his face it really wash away all that sadness and you realise you're just happy just like him. there is some customers when you tell them what happened they understand they try to help you out by donating a little bit of cash some of them even decide to pay 50% of the damages just because you've been honest with. in the end its not about money. its about honesty , happy customers and the love for this job
when i saw "who's to blame?" on the title, it made my blood boil, i thought you were gonna do an apple and make excuses, but now that I've heard you out, good on you man
Brother! I have so much respect for you! I live my life by a strict code of honesty and integrity as well. I can appreciate what you said in this video about honesty, more than I could say. Well done Sir!
You are both a PRO and honest. That makes You a human. And what is more - You are my GURU. I would be more than pleased to work with You if I had an opportunity cause to deal with such a HUMAN is a real great life experience.
These things are sent to try us all at some point. Always when we least expect it or could do without it. There’s a lot that can be learnt... less distractions being one and more careful another. Honesty is always going to be the way forward. Human error is a marvellous thing when quickly spotted and corrected in the right manner. Well done, nice fix. 👍 from me! 🇬🇧
Work ethics and a person word, is one of the most admirable qualities in somebody. I do import, repair and sell concert show lights, and many times I received new equipment broken, something stops working or sometimes even honest customers admitted it was broken by accident, and I always take care all my customers. I prefer loosing money before anybody in this world can say something bad about me. Life teach me that if you do good without seeking something in return, always God multiply the goods to you. Not always will be with money, it can be good health, good family or more work. I'm admire your skills, but now I do admire more your work ethics, not too common to see that on this days.
Dishonesty ruins a person on every single level, whether he realizes it or not. You always pay the price and it's never worth it. You did the right thing 👍
I seriously love this video. So much to be learned here. I work at a repair shop and I've had similar situations happen where customers keep stopping me from trying to repair something. Going back and forth like that can cause components to be damaged, lost, or temporarily lost. In fact I had situation just like this happen a few months ago. I was lifting the LCD from the frame to unscrew the metal plate keeping the ribbon cable in place when a customer came in wanting me to look at something. While I was talking to the customer I didn't realize that I was tugging on that ribbon cable a little too tight and ended up just barely ripping it. Those LCDs are EXPENSIVE, and I was so angry and frustrated as this was the first LCD I have damaged. I'm not gunna lie, I thought about making some excuse and lie about how the broken LCD was something that was part of the repair price, but I am very religious and know better. I know that God is watching, and He will bless us when we do good things, and He will also punish us when we do bad things. Religion gives you character and integrity. It helps people to be better than they were the day before. I commend you for your honesty and integrity. Its hard to find good people like you.
I sincerely appreciate all your videos and how fair you are to customers. Choices in life make us who we are. Thank you for this specific video. Having a business means sometimes you will lose but this will gain you respect and keep you prosperous. Thank you very much!
This is my favourite video from you. I’ve been binge watching and I’ve been interested in a great many videos of yours… but your attitude towards the screen damage makes me really happy! You’re a great person and a great businessman!
I liked this video a lot. You don't try to bullshit anyone, and show what can and does happen doing this type of work. This type of honesty and transparency is rather admirable. Good job and keep it up! I hadn't subscribed before, but now I have.
It is really hard to do the repairs and talk to the customers all at the same time, accidents like these happens to me in the past 3 years. You should never blame yourself. Keep up the good work.
I kept seeing that same mistake too. A bad habit I see people do this with phones it drives me crazy. But i would have to say this guys one of my favourite RU-vid techs no BS straight to the point. Keep it up
@@Amraks Unfortunately that does not lead to good customer service skills customers dont like the straightforward approach they want smiles and happy happy face and patronising BS! If you check his negative 1 star yelp reviews you will see the customers dont like his straightforward no BS approach and in the video where he goes to see a customer and tells her he doesnt have an XPS screen for a week in basic terms there is no nicey nicey smiley smiley patronising BS - You need it if you want to get good reviews 101% and referalls thats the reality albeit BS!
I just found your channel, it showed up on my recommendations. I wanted to send you a quick message. I applaud your comment to honesty and fair play. It is an admirable trait to posses, unfortunately it is also a very rare to find this trait; especially in the repair industry. Due to the specialized knowledge required by most repair service technicians, honesty and a conviction to fairly serve the customer is a vanishing trait. Working in the repair service industry also means that the device/machine/system also often demands that the technician must do more than the bare minimum when repair is required. Fixing a problem only for a short time isn't what the customer expects, so the tech will often need to tell his/her customer that the problem will require more than a simple part replacement. Or other services are required to make the repair more than temporary. If the service technician isn't committed to the best possible service with constant consideration of cost to the customer, then he/she is destroying the trust that everyone must give the tech. How will we have their trust, if we are not trustworthy? I have worked as an electronics repair technician for both consumer electronics and in manufacturing quality control/ customer return service repair. It is often a difficult decision to whether or not a device lives or dies in the tech's hands. Does the device get repaired, or is the repair too expensive? How important is this device to the customer? I was always astonished as to what the owner thought was irreplaceable. I don't know if your business deals with this type of device repair, or you specialize in a specific area, but I would suggest to at least put the decision in the owner's hands. Give them a rough estimate and explain what you believe the device is non economically repairable. By the way, I am fascinated by your diagnostic procedure. After two years in the Electronics Repair courses offered in High School, and a two and a half year Associate's degree education. I have not seen anyone trace a fault in the manner you do. Your technique seems very functional and works well with the speed at which your repair scheduling needs to be. Respectfully, Computer/Electronics Geek
Sir, You very good and respectful person and most important thing you are really honest with your work and with your customers. GOD BLESS you always.. 👍
So many people would not upload a video of them making a mistake, good on you still uploading it. Accidents happens, you fix it and move forward, good luck.
New watcher here. I repair phones tablets and computers for family and friends. I’ve wanted to get into soldering and enjoy watching you. This video shows I made a good choice in choosing to watch you. I get a lot of good advice from you and being honest is me #1 rule. 1 question I have is how do you know what solder to use? You used aluminium and not tin? I assume there’s a difference and not just another word for it
Just wanted to write this. And no, not everyone would have been the same. I would be sooo pissed. Well done keeping your composure. It is amazing to see.
I like that you are honest about it. I once send in my phone to Vodaphone for a line of stuck pixels on the display, and when they gave it back, it had a visible crack on the screen. So I gave it back without even leaving store, for another repair round, and then they even dared to ask for replacement money, as a crack was not covered by warranty.
Nice. I also follow this philosophy in my small shop and I have damaged customer items, fixed them at my cost but didn't tell the customer. I like that method and will use it if (when) I break something else.
I think you'll be getting a bunch of comments like mine, but really, religion's got nothing to do with who you are. Ethical or unethical, that's who you'll be with or without a God. Religion *_can_* make you scared to do bad things. But, nowadays, people aren't scared anymore by religion. So, morality has to be taught and promoted. Religion only has morality as a side effect. Or at least that's how I see things.
Amazing work ethic. I have a question, do you tell a customer about this unfortunate event or just keep it a secret and just talk about the success of the repair?
I am not a religious person, I think that the value set of the indevidual is what makes it's personality. I personaly do not value cheating people, and I have a business in the same area. If I make a mistake, I pay for it, that is what makes people come back and trust you and your business. With all that said, I admire you and your values, keep up the good work!
I subscribed and commented because you gave glory to God and I know that many don't want to hear about it but again some still do. May you be blessed and greatly rewarded for your honest and sincere ethics.
Great professionalism and integrity. I do think you need someone to take the phone calls, answer the queries who come in etc. Every time you get distracted you are context switching which leads to reduced productivity and mistakes! Time to hire someone to help ?
Love your work, your honesty and your channel it is very inspirational. Thank you for your excellent content mate. I'm an electronic technician myself and you make my work and my day to day more passionate. Thank you
I worked in a video camera repair shop, they were very popular and the tech was so talented they could tear apart a camera and put it together with a blindfold on. The other part that made this shop popular was the same type of principles applied as seen here in this an other videos.
Unfortunate but shit always happens, gotta take responsibility. You should put some foam or a carpet under the desk so in case stuff falls doesnt break or scratch. Screws and nuts wont bounce either lol. Tip from mightycarmods video I think.
I love your small business videos. I run a small engine repair shop and its amazing how many things can relate. Morally I cannot charge a customer for something I caused. Also I dislike techs that make a small $20 repair seem like its a huge deal to the customers, do not give customers fear....let them know you are there to help with the problem.
Good thoughts produce good actions which (usually) produce good consequences. Bad thoughts produce bad actions which produce bad consequences. These ripple out like waves on a pond, affecting you and everyone they touch, like a Tsunami of evil. This, irrespective of one’s religious beliefs, is why one should strive to do good, and fight evil. Even if it’s something as simple as eating the cost of a broken screen. Bravo! 🤗
Good bro! Your every video gives me some thing to learn. Be it morally or technically. Go on with same tempo. And keep on making such videos and share your knowledge! Love you
