Accidentally hating everything I read😭 Except one 😈 || New book vlog/Cleaning out my NetGalley ARCs 

i agree with A Fragile Enchantment regarding the world politics. i havent finished the book yet, but i always found it a hard time understanding what the actual history was between the Avalen(?) and Ma-somethings despite the importance of that strife present in story and the main character being a member for the Ma-something community. also the synopsis puts heavy emphasis on the columnist supposedly blackmailing the woman into snooping, but so far from what i read, its less blackmail and more “well i respect you, MC, but i’m going to keep doing what im doing” and the MC like “well now i wanna snoop bc you planting the idea in my head.” which in one case i guess that gives the MC more agency, but in the other it removes a lot of the tension that the synopsis sorta promised…

I really liked this video. I am amazed how many books people are taking about this year and I don’t want to read them. Sad

Only if You're Lucky- I DNF'd twice. Just read a great thriller: You Know What You Did. Very twisty. I'm in the middle of The Berry Pickers and I'm liking it so far! (Just what you needed, more books to read. ) I just moved 400 miles from the town I lived my whole life. What a mess. There are things I may never find again)

That’s a bummer that you had some of the books and they were packed away. I didn’t read any of them from NetGalley but have read Starling House (last year with the Nest readalong), An Education in Malice and The Evocations for my March Thriller/horror month. For me they were all fine. None of them make me want to tell people to they HAVE to read them. You know what I mean? Out of the 3, An Education in Malice was my least favorite. Unless I was just having a rough month bc I DNF two books that month too because I just couldn’t get into them. I would blame it on how they are more contemporary fantasy vs high fantasy which I seem to prefer. I do love a morally grey fae 😏 Speaking of morally grey fae, have you read A Court This Cruel & Lovely? I’m reading that series now and like them. I’m towards the end of book two now. The magic system reminds me of the Grishaverse where people have a specific power they can wield.

I amnot reading a lot but overall, I am enjoying what I read.
