Accord Cello Case REVIEW (So THIS is why top pros pick it?)

I upgraded to an Accord earlier this year and have been grappling with this uneasy feeling about the investment because of the wobbling when open and messing with the latches. But you’re completely right, once closed it feels completely secure and I love how light it is. Thank you again for the review!

totally agree with your comment about a second handle. You might be interested in swapping the standard strap with the Fiedler backpack system from Germany. makes life a lot easier and your back much more comfortable.

Accord is unable to fulfill promises for delivery. I requested a luthier in Madrid to order Accord case on March 15. One of the few emails I have received from Accord sales was received after order was placed which provided time frame when shipping tracking number could be expected - SIX to EIGHT WEEKS after order was received. After 6 weeks with no further communication from Accord regarding status of guitar case delivery, AND after multiple attempts to contact Accord by email and phone by me and luthier in Madrid, I finally received email from Accord sales with new promise to receive shipping tracking number by EOD on May 10. I still have not received shipping tracking number or any email responses from Accord. This company is not recommended as business partner for any luthier of high end guitars as they can not support a production rate of six new high end guitars per year.

I laughed a lot when you mentioned the custom color thing because I just got myself this month a very bright orange Gewa Air and I absolutely love it hahaha Did you consider getting the Fiedler backpack system to make it more comfortable? My teacher has one of these Accord ones with the Fiedler + some extra things, like the handle in the neck. Not sure if you can get there in the US but it might be worth looking.

Have the robust Model since 2002 and use it all the time... It's just reliable and fine.

im more curious on where you got that glass enclosed cello display in the background=). i have dogs and cats, and need something to keep the dog hair off, and cats out =)

Actually, If you LIFT up the case with one hand and clasp a few latches then set it down the rest easily close. Personally, I wanted the Accord but already having a C.F. case and living in Chicago where winters are BAD, my cello froze so quickly I wanted something that would ease the temp variant better so got the Gewa Air. It's heavier yes, but I just worried about the cello too much and the changing temp. that fast. The case looks great though!!!

After 9 months do you still love it? Any thoughts about how it compares to the GEWA AIR? How easy is it to bring a cello case on an airline? Do you buy an extra seat for it? :) I am looking for a case that I can wear with the shoulder straps while I walk for 10-15 minutes at a time between rehearsal spots around New York City. I’d ordered an Accord case and still no delivery after 6 months. Working on getting a refund, now they have been unresponsive for 3 weeks. DONT ORDER FROM ACCORD!!

You should replace those cheap plastic carabiners, big liability
