I also found a leak on the passenger side front bank (right side) gasket to the VTEC solenoid. Was only able to find it while the engine was running.

That solenoid gasket will leak and the oil will wick and stick all along the underside of the valve covers, making it seem as though the valve cover gaskets are leaking And IF you Do pull the valve covers off, you might as well adust the valves while the covers are off. Valves are supposed to be checked after 100K-ish anyway.

@@daveclark8337 I helped do as much work as my friend was willing to pay. I did the work for cheap and honestly it was not worth my time; practically a favor. Very few people are willing to go above & beyond for maintenance as you mentioned. You are correct 💯

Hey man what is your opinion on getting a valve adjustment for your hondas? I own a 2011 accord v6 and also 07 ridgeline and I bought them used two years ago and I have no idea if they have ever had valve adjustments. They are both over 130k miles. They run fine no misfires and no trouble starting or staying running. I also also seen many of honda owners of all makes and models who have very very high miles on their engines and most of them actually say they never had the valves adjusted as well. What's your opinion on it ? Can you still get high miles out of you engine without one ?

They're recommended by the manufacturer at 100k miles. They rarely need them at that point, especially if maintained well and not abused to hell. Valves make some noise when loose but quite/deadly when too tight. Easy to do, just time consuming.

@SamslamminCars I totally agree I guess I'm just so curious how so many honda owners never get them done but yet still their engines last well into the 300k miles range. The thing is I'm not going to do the job myself and I called some shops around my area and they did not seem very familiar with the job and I don't want someone to mess the job up

@@shadowman1992 I know someone who made it to 948k before trashing a valve. J30a4 & he did strictly highway low revs for the last 500k. Do not pay a shop unfamiliar, better off leaving them alone.... I have a b20 in a CRX, those engines need to be adjusted every 30-60k. Maybe I can make a video coming up on them, not very difficult if you make a chart to follow along.

@SamslamminCars thank you for you input. I do 85 % highway miles myself. Would love to see a video in the future
