Flint sits down with JB Mauney, 2X PBR World Champion. They talk about how JB grew up, his family, and who JB thinks is the best bull rider ever. Stay up to date on According To Flint at flintrasmussen.com
J.B. Mauney is the Babe Ruth of Bull Riding. My uncle used to tell me the story of how Babe would eat a hot dog, drink a beer, then step up to the plate and hit a home run. Certainly he trained very hard, but his innate God given talent was apparent. So too, with J.B. I know very little about Bull Riding, but I recognize greatness and God given talent. I now watch bull riding videos just to watch J.B. magnify that God given gift.
I was just thinking about JB & was thinking how much respect I have for this Man,knowing none of us are angels,we have lived our lives the way we wanted,to a degree,& I may be older than JB but I sure do believe the more I hear him talk & learn about him the more RESPECT I HAVE FOR YOU J.B.MAUNEY
Jb is a true cowboy. I only watch bullriding only if jb is in it. He has the passion an love for what he is doing. I'm only watching this because your interviewing jb. I live in australia but I would love to shake his hand. He keeps saying he wants to be a cowboy in my eyes he is the number 1 cowboy I know. An I live on a farm.
Aye I love this episode... J.B. made 7 MILLION drinking beer and smoking cigarettes everyday waking up and getting on a rank bull. Riders nowadays drink protein shakesno disrespect to em but J.B. a different breed. And his battles with Bushwacker were LEGENDARY!❤❤❤❤ Thanx for the greatest Cowboy show on Earth J.B. Much LOVE
My momma is a barrel racer in her mid sixties. We both enjoyed you guys very much. Momma doesn’t have big talent but she has a lot of “try”, that’s worth a lot more to me. Thank you for this y’all.
What an amazing guy. I watched a vice gig on JB on got hooked on bull riding and him as a person. Would give the world to meet him or get my PBR hat signed . Amazing interview . Wish him all the best
JB is such a great guy! I love that he is doing small town rodeos now. My 5 year old son was able to meet him and spend some time talking to his this past summer and he still talks about it. Made that little boys whole summer! He loves him some JB!
I WANT jb to see this YOU ARE THE BEST. NUMBER 1 EVER. YOU ARE THE COWBOY. EVEN WHEN THE DAY YOU RETIRE YOU WILL BE THE BEST NUMBER 1 IN A LOT OF PEOPLES EYES. You are the GREATEST BULL RIDER EVER
I worked the chutes at Mesquite in the last 5 years of the T.V. contract. They do everything to write a story and build drama. I never noticed it when i was a rider. The PBR changed the game. We all knew that it would. Making a go at mainstream. Hanging out on tailgates, listening to music and talking Rodeo all night is about over for Rodeo everywhere i suppose. This was great hour. JB gets the life and it shows. Gold Buckles dont lie. He understands the way it gets done. Why he is liked. I remember meeting Jim Shoulders, Larry Mahan, Don Gay and Monty Henson. A long list of names of good hands to look up to. Many thanks for a great talk boys.
JB i love your Add attitude keep doing what you are doing. When you retire bull riding will go down hill . When you ride off into sun set you can say last of the real bull rider have left the building. You are a legend in the top 5 of all time. It is a Honour to watch you ride the bulls JB THANK YOU YOU ARE S TRUE AMERICA 🇺🇸
Terrific interview!!! JB has always been tops in my book. I've watched everything I can (I'm in my late 70's, so it's been a while!) and this is one of the best. I admire so much about the man that he is. I love that he is bringing up his boy to be whatever he wants to be. And that will be the very best man, like his dad. Thanks for this best of the best insight into a living legend.
My first time watching your channel and I watched every minute. One hell of great podcast, I think J B Mauney is a super cool dude and I admire his talent, personality and his great disposition. It's so cool one of the greatest bull riders of all time is somewhat of a local boy, with regards to being from NC and I grew up here in GA.
Jb Mauney is the best bull rider that will go down on history. The guy has won pbr and now riding prca. Someone that can go from one to another and keep his head up and Talent up is someone that’s going down as a LEGEND in anyone’s book. I enjoy watching his riding style and just him and a bull your only as good as you wanna be you can hate someone just for being good and you shouldn’t cause they work there ass of to be that dam good. My hats off to you COWBOY
I am from England and my grandfather was a Scottish dairy farmer. As tough as he was, I bet he never once occurred to him that it was a good idea to try and ride a Bull. He died in 1969 most likely totally unaware there was such a thing as Bull riding. However, I'm sure he would have recognized the bravery and skill of these guys and would have loved to have shared some stories with these guys over a pint of beer or two.
Boy I tell you what. Flint and JB are true heroes in my eyes. I've seen Flint perform since I was 10 at the pendleton round up. I've watched JB since I was 15 and I'm 34 now. JB ain't done till he says he's done. If yall come back to the pendleton round up for PBR, just build a camp fire in the happy canyon arena afterwards. Hell we would supply the fire wood. Cowboys need there time to drink and BS. Stay safe, god speed.
Awesome interview great sense of humour 👍 !!! and well done to you jb an flint great to hear bout old times as well all the best for season an tke care always cheers CJ🤗👌
I absolutely loved this episode I remember watching both of you with my great grandpa and learned so much from him and just watching the one he’s passed on but I love reliving those memories through you and everyone you have on the show keep it god bless
Love JB! Only time I saw him ride in person was on valentines in 2011 in San Antonio, TX. But I’ve watched every video of him that I’ve come across. Enjoyed this video too.
I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast, I was was never a hater of JB, I like’em all.. but I have new respect for him! And Flint, love your interview style! 🍻
I was born right around the time he started so i didnt really get to watch him for his first 5 years or so, but im damn sure glad i can tip my hat to the man and see how it ends for the greatest bull rider to do it
Flint, Awesome pod cast ,JB is cool like John Wayne .., I like how you reach back in time mentioning Mahan and JB father in law people need to know more how the sport was when i was a kid .. Once again great pod cast I’ll be watching 👍🇺🇸
I rode bulls in early 90s did some bullfighting too.. You guys bring back the memories.. My inspirations were lane frost tuff hedeman Jim Sharp.. Leon coffee rob smets you guys are the same vein as those guys!!!
That was great!! I have only been watching bull riding for a couple of years and it was because of JB that I started and now I can't get enough of it. I love how in bull riding how humble the riders are. Sports these days are terrible, and the players are cocky and showoffs, bull riders are just themselves. But anyways this was awesome and hope that there are a lot more of these podcasts to come!
They need to make a movie about this J.B amazing life, personality, manner, character, crisp looks and history. It would sell big. I hope America makes it out the country being divided, anger and foolish and talk of civil war. All these American culture uniqueness such as this, will vanish. It’s crazy to worry for them………and everything they’d lose out.
JB, you retire when you want to not when someone else wants you to. You smoke that's your business people don't like it they can stay away you and your family make those choices keep up the good work you are the man no matter what they say . I'm a big fan 72 years old born on a ranch love the life
I hope JB Mauney makes Sacramento in 2021, I would love to see him in person, Sacramento is the closest I will ever get. I have a lot of Rodeo cowboys I admire but JB is always the same every time he is interviewed. He is just an old school cowboy tuff as nails and honest to the core. JB a I hope to get an autograph in Sacramento.
