I thought I was going crazy because the music started playing suddenly while I was walking around the area. Then I finally climbed the tower and I realized that there was a giant bird playing the accordion.
I found him after doing the DLC. I somehow managed to beat all the divine beasts in such a way that I never met Kass, and I thought he was a prophet when I first met him.
PHO3N1X many people complain about the subtly and atmospheric vibes of the soundtrack It’s like that’s the point, it’s immersive! The sound design in general is amazing
@@lilypad7896 Penn can be found at Washa's bluff after all of his missions. He mentions that a famous Bard perfected his craft there. It's also one of the many places you can find Kass in BotW.

Things that made me want to play the accordion: 1. -Being a musician- 2. -Being born on a place where the instrument has a mayor role on its folklore- 3. *One Feathery Boi*
I love finding Kass. My mum like to sit in the room where I play games and off in the distance, Kass can be heard and My mum is like "That's Kass. Where is he?" And she'd put down whatever she's doing and stare at the tv screen, as if waiting for Kass to be seen and to point him out. It's nice..
I found him around the ocean, perched on a rock. I thought he was this random specimen of birb, rather parrot-like so I took a picture, but it said nothing on what or who it was. Poor Kass, for a minute or so I considered attacking him xD
If Kass isn't in the BotW sequel I will f*cking RIOT. I couldn't help but smile every single time I heard that accordian.... Edit: Dammit. Well...there's always the DLC... Edit 2: Nintendo...you fucked up.
to anyone still wondering: the accordion is a bronze Beltuna Leader IV. it costs as much as a small car and is the very definition of a high end instrument, a befitting one for such an outstandingly talented player with that kind of timbre. he performed the same piece on a Roland accordion, also quite a decent model, but it pales in comparison to the Beltuna.
I remember the moment I was in love with Kass I didnt pay him a ton of attention when I first saw him outside a stable But when he played a song for me, and told me he hoped that some day he could play it for the hero, not even knowing he just did, I was charmed
@Dick Rider Since the very beginning. My first campaign in the game is about 300 hours , so I didn't realize what he said when you first encounter him, but he hints that he knew from literally the VERY FIRST SENTENCE!
when I completed Kass’ quest line and his song turned into the classic Zelda theme I cried so hard. peak aesthetic experience. thanks for this version!
Me, too. I was in tears when I heard him play his complete, beautiful song for me, and then turn to me and acknowledge me as the hero his song was for all along.
Kass’ final song also talks about a princess that feel for her appointed knight. Small things we over look on the game. Like how princess zelda was in love with link. And you can find him after completing after all the shrine quests he gives you. You can find him in Rito village.
It has a feeling that reminds me of a lot of things, but I can't really say what exactly. Guess it just sounds just "nostalgic music" if that makes any sense?
@@jamesfranko1568 exactly. The same is true for bagpipes and the hurdy gurdy; partly, it's that they all have a drone, and usually something unique to them (trumpet strings on hurdy gurdy)
Jake Darling Right?!?! Like if I was walking through town, I would honestly think I was going insane but I'd be insanely happy to hear this music out in the real world
If I started hearing this song off in the distance, I wouldn't stop until I had found the source and instead of picking up his quest, I would just stand around and listen to him play it a few times, just like I do in Breath of the Wild.
@@drag0nerd Kass and his wife are happily married, even despite the fact he's spent so long out of Rito village with 5 kids back home. Further proof he's perfect husband material.
Anyone gonna talk about how hard this instrument is? He play the piano on one hand, clicks some buttons on the other one and moves it at the same time.
So I allowed my little sister to play. So she went to explore a bit and when she heard this she literally said "get me to where the Music comes from. Now."
I remember the first time I met Kass. I was running around aimlessly in a meadow when I heard an accordion. I didn't think much at first, as it was faint, and I figured it was just a musical stab as is normal in Zelda. But it didn't stop, so I eventually walked in the direction of the music, and found the first Rito I'd met in Breath of the Wild. He's best boy honestly.
The first time I heard Kass play it was the middle of the night, right after the bloodmoon, during a lightning storm. I 100% thought it was some kind of new boss or elite monster stalking me through the darkness. Being the Hero that Link is, the decision was made to follow the sound and face whatever it was on my terms instead of being surprised. Then I made friends with a bardic blue bird boi.

when my grandfather was alive he would play the accordion with my gran, both of them going to little events and groups and playing songs. after he passed my gran never really played it again. her dementia gradually got worse and now, 10 or so years later, she now lives with us. the accordion was something id only ever hear as a child, and I only have very faint memories of hearing it or seeing anyone play it. this video is the first time in years that I have ever seen an accordion being played and oh boy did it make me emotional. it's such a small little thing to get wound up over, but this was really so amazing to me to be able to hear an accordion again, playing Kass' theme of all things too!! but yeah, this was amazing and im glad I found this!!
People from the twilight, or people that just got sick of the song, i mean the dude plays it like 24/7 everywhere, you get sick at some moment and begin to waste your explosive arrows everytime you see kass, i do
Mr. Accordian: this is an improvisation without sheet music Musician who reads sheet music: W H A T Me, who can’t read sheet music: Ah yes, another intellectual
To put this in perspective: doing this w/o sheet music is like taking everything in your pantry, throwing it into a dish, cooking it for a random amount of time at a random temp, and making a dish so good it makes Gordon Ramsay cry.
It's all in the theory, man. Improvising isn't necessarily difficult, but it isn't natural either. It all takes practice (and sometimes a buttfuck ton of it)
Mildly Concerned Doe Its more like grabbing random ingredients but you’re very familiar with them. You’ve memorized the tastes and you can make up a decent dish. I’ve been playing 9 years so the keys are like second nature
(“Shoot, need to think of some shrine quest now!”) “Uhhh, go and like, uh,” (“Wait, no, Kass always gives them out as a riddle/song”) 🎶Glide past the stones shaped like a claw, There you’ll see and stop in awe, A beautiful creature, oh so bright, But you should be quick, and prepare for a fight!🎶
After hearing this in the background of a Dunkey video, I went crazy trying to find it by searching for classic Accordion waltzes. Then I remembered where I'd originally heard it.
Cosplay as Kass, play this song at a convention and have some little like puzzle paper titled "Shrine quest" and when they complete it they will earn a cute little prize.
Been playing this too game much, that when I added this song to my playlist and it started playing, I thought Kass was right around the corner in my workplace.
My first experience with Kass was The Hero's Cache quest. I was walking the coastline (after paragliding from the shrine) and heard this theme. I was like: 1. An accordion? In a Zelda game? 2. An accordion? In the middle of the ocean? Amazing cover by the way. Love his theme.
First time I met kass was on the tower north from the gerudo desert in the middle of the bottomless pit. But just a question, why the heck is there a tower there?! If it’s tall enough to reach the bottom of the pit, how come no one in hyrule has noticed it before?
Me: Running a marathon throughout Hyrule Kass: Starts playing in the distance Me: My master calls. I must sit by his side forever. *proceeds to spend rest of day sitting next to Kass listening to this.
this video and song inspired me to purchase an accordion and now I can play this song and many, many others. Thank you for inspiring me to develop my musical talent
This sounds so beautiful 😍 My dad plays accordion so I grew up hearing it and I do get annoyed by it sometimes, but when I heard an accordion in Breath of The Wild, I was like “what is this beauty that has blessed my ears??” I never wanted to leave Kass whenever I ran into him 💖
"This is an improvisation play without any sheets and notes." My dude natural talent like this doesn't just fall from the sky, you had BETTER be doing this professionally and showing the entire world your talent.
i dont know how it works for accordion but when i play a song on piano or guitar its not from reading the sheet ive learned the song and engraved it into my hands
When i first encountered Kass, i instantly fell in love with his theme and his design. I also noticed how he plays Epona's theme at the stables, which only made me love him more. It's amazing to think that the music from the past zelda games are still there in this universe, left as musical legends.
