A2A Simulations pilot, flight simmer and owner takes you through the cruise in the Accu-sim Comanche 250 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. A2A Simulations Website; a2asimulations... A2A Community Discord; / discord
Listening to Scott introducing features of A2A products is like watching a BBC documentary with David Attenborough. This product is the only one which deserves the description study level. Cant' wait to fly it again after so many years.
Absolutely, bought and reinstalling at the moment. The passion and hard work and attention to detail in the past makes this a must buy for me and is the only reason I have downloaded msfs again. I'm so excited.
There`s one thing Scott Gentile does, in a way no other MSFS addon producer does (apart making some of the most perfect and realistics addons as some others). It`s explaining us (simple FS pilots) the physics and and procedures that will make us almost real pilots, managing our machine operation. I own almost all of the MSFS-X (on steam) addons A2A produce and I still can`t get enough of them. Thank you Scott (& A2A team) and many happy landings for everybody, from Portugal.🤙
Wonderful, informative and entertaining. Please do release the digital version of your Comanche soon....I miss it from FSX something terrible. Many, many thank yous 😊
These videos from an educational perspective are priceless, one of the best explanations of a difficult subject I've seen on YT. This plane is going to give the sort of depth ppl have only dreamed of in a sim. Wonderful work.
How difficult is developing an aircraft for MSFS compared to FSX/P3D? Did you guys run into issues while working on the Aerostar? Anyways, I’m really excited for the Comanche launch! You guys do brilliant work
It's basically a bunch of those things a developer runs into when switching a platform. We were extremely comfortable with P3D but after a while MSFS got to the same comfort level.
Being an A2A addict for many, many moons now, I cannot fully express my sincerest gratitude and enthusiasm regarding A2A's entry onto FS2020. I've had the platform since day-one, and while there are some good products out there and some really good mods available, there just isn't anything quite like AccuSim. Scott et al. has spoiled me, and most of my flying time is spent back on P3D in one of the A2A birds. Which is a flying shame, considering how pretty the FS2020 world is. But we're SO very close to rectifying this situation.... Others have said it, but its totally true; like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.... So ready to take this Comanche up for a cruise!
anyone else feel strangely calm and relaxed by his voice. A job in ASMR? Cant wait for this plane to come out - looks amazing. Now purchased - two flights in and I think this is now my favourite plane. The sound is amazing, the handling feels amazing and it look amazing.
Damn yes. What could be better than a nerd-suitable crazily detailed beautiful little plane? A detailed explanation that calms me down before going to bed.
This aircraft has been the best thing for GA in MSFS! It's such a depth of immersion I feel obligated to care for my virtual plane as if it is my own. Great work 👏👏, can't wait for more AccuSim releases!
Sinse your last video, you have become my #1 most expected video update in all of youtube. Hope you keep finding time to make more videos. Super happy to see another of your videos! I literally feel the same expectations I felt before christmas when I was 9 years old. Thank You!
Thanks, I'm (Scott) looking forward to concentrating fully on these vids once the airplane is out. It's so great to have an simulation that captures all these little details, you can explain things on a whole new level. There is virtually nothing I can't demonstrate in the real airplane that can't be demonstrated with this. It's a great teaching tool but having fun while doing it.
@@ShockwaveProd Thanks Scott, we LOVE these videos man! You do it so well I could watch you for hours explaining all the details of this amazing beauty.
Simply the best explanation of how to manage power settings! Amazing job! I have noticed that the tachometer is at 25,000 hours. Is that number the actual flight hours for that plane? Just curious to know.
I really appreciate the time you guys put into making these videos. Since finding out about the Comanche and its release on MSFS, I have binged most of the videos on the channel. Scott, you're a very engaging host, the passion that you have for these planes really bleeds through into the commentary.
Good request. We have provided these for all of our airplanes in the past and see no reason we won't do the same shortly as we always want to do our best supporting anyone building their dream simulators.
I member watching savvy aviation leaning basics and advanced class vids, basically the same way to lean by ear was said to be best WOT, lowest rpm, lean to roughness, get high and fly around carson speed, best for economy and engine life :)
Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Very informative. I have no interest in the Comanche but I would buy it support A2A Simulations and the work you are doing. I look forward to you hopefully taking what you are building and bringing it to other planes like the Cessna 172 and more importantly hopefully the 182!
2020 is my first non-military flight sim so I'm still fairly new to this, but I'm starting to see how A2A earns its reputation. Will that beautiful Comanche 400 come to MSFS too? I love the idea of flying something I'll probably never even see irl, let alone get to fly in.
Wow, 2359 hours on the Hobbs Meter... now that is some dedicated testing! Or perhaps just authentic to Scott's real aircraft. Either way it's looking great. Higher altitudes might mean less airspace in the US but my amateur armchair-pilot flight planning in Europe usually requires treetop height (well, sub-2000ft) to go under many control zones. And to stay under the low clouds that plague the UK...
I have to mention this.. Pilots are trained everywhere to be weary of the relationship between manifold pressure and rpm. High manifold pressure and low rpm is a death sentence for your engine on paper due to the heat created on the rod bearings and the stress on the con rods. Is there a chart somewhere that says 1800 rpm is "safe" at 23 in/hg? Typically, 23 hg would be flowed with 2200 - 2400 rpm on modern continentals. There is a philosophy about stress to apply here where engine wear is also considerable in these conditions. When forces are greater on components when they are spinning slower and not dispersing energy at a higher rate which adds more stress forces to things such as bearings, conrods, and the the crankshaft compared to spinning fast and wearing things like cylinder walls faster, but applying less force to the stated components. Yes you can achieve these fuels burns, but could these power settings be hurting your engines reliability in the long run? Im just asking this because you are a real 250 flyer with the experience, performance charts, and know how.
So glad that A2A came to MSFS. I look forward to more A2A planes released for MSFS, especially the Cessna 172. Unfortunately for XP, I don't think A2A will go to XP 12. Just Flight said their port overs to XP 12 have sold horribly and they lost money on it (check Avsim "Just Flight Fokker F-28 release date Wed 12th July" thread, page 16). While A2A did mention they would consider XP in the future, after they find out about Just Flight's poor sales on XP 12, and with the small XP 12 user base, A2A will probably stay on MSFS in the foreseeable future.
The new Accu-Sim 2.0 tech is platform independent however there is still a lot of work interfacing it to a new platform for just formatting and any platform specific tasks we needed to use, for example, the walk around, model texturing, etc.. Things like the tablet, systems, sounds, aerodynamics, physics, etc. are all outside the platform, in this case, MSFS and would transfer over 1:1. However we are focused 100% on MSFS for now and the medium term future.
Thank's a lot ! I bought it on first day and this plane is just fantastic. Behavior, sounds, maintenance, everything is very high quality. This is MY plane in the sim for now. I know that you're a small company, but I hope you will be able to code the Cessna 172 and the Piper Cherokee to MSFS 🤣🙏👍
This video is one of the best explanation that goes a loooong way. Almost hypnotising! Thank you for putting such a marvellous study level machine up in MSFS ! It's like I almost own one ! The only problem now..... is that I want one (a real one !!) Thank you again 🙏
Incredible. Didn't know about accusim before today, but I am absolutely astonished. Will definitely be buying this aircraft. Thank you for your hard work!
I hope you guys make a small fortune selling your AccuSim aircraft for MSFS. I'm only gonna buy A2A from now on, no point in flying anything else really
Thanks for sharing your passion for this amazing aircraft. Each time I fly this bird its not only to discover nice county its also to fly this complex small flying machine
Putting my eyes back in head and lifting my hanging jaw back in place. 'Wow' is an awfully short word that is simple but appropriate. Like the child waking and dashing downstairs to see what gifts are under the tree, Release Day is going to feel like a holiday.
We would certainly like to. This represents the first iteration of an all new way of developing airplanes for us. We are just now focused on delivering the best airplane we can right now. Once that is done we can then plan.
Great i definitely learned how to manage my engine. something i never learned to do although i have been flying for 20 years in the sim. Now a good lesson to learn is managing the trim as its something i had never learnt to manage on this aircraft
I can't imagine the amount of work that A2A has put into this airplane. It is simply out of this world that every detail of the Comanche 250 was acknowledged. A2A you guys are masters on building a high quality product, bravo on that. I can't wait to buy this product like the rest of us!!
Good stuff. Anxious for a release date. BTW is Jake flying for a living? He must be close to being old enough for his ATP. Seems like yesterday he was a young kid working the A2A booth at Oshkosh.
@@ShockwaveProd Awesome. I got to spend 35 years with AA and his career timing couldn’t be better. A great young man and I’m happy he’s doing what he loves.
This is a GREAT tutorial. Airplanes are like computers, there are many ways to get your desired result. The most important thing is to GET your "desired result" Thanks! !! !!!
This almost made me misty eyed. I have missed this aircraft very much since I made the switch to MSFS, now I am waiting for the video that begins with, "Hi, everyone, Scott here from A2A, and I am proud to announce the release of A2A's Comanche for Microsoft Flight Simulator."
I'm busy studying for my ppl and this plane came out of nowhere for me at a time that I was just struggling with any of the current MSFS GA aircraft both from a handling perspective and an engine operations standpoint. Did my first flight today, got to cruise, played around with setting the right mixtures and RPM for cruise, and learnt a ton just watching the different panels adjust and listening to the sounds. On top of that, the handling of the aircraft especially landing the damn thing is finally an aircraft one can practice proper procedures for their PPL. Plane feels like it actually has weight and that physics actually exist. On top of the plane it self, the manual, and these type of videos help a ton for all aspiring pilots. Thank you to everyone that worked on the plane and hoping for a Diamond DA40ng variant in the future 😉
I have no doubt whatsoever this product is TOP quality, down to the finest detail. And when I mean down to the finest detail.... just pay attention to the quality of this video presentation, the narration, the voice-overs, the graphics, the production, the.. everything! It's already hugging ears, eyes and the heart! It's like, or better, than actual flight instruction! There's nothing amateur I can point to. Respect! My mind is has already been made: The second this A2A Comance will appear on the FS store, I will buy it with no hesitation.
Back in FSX, throttle all in, mixture just above engine cutoff, 13 hours later still 5 gallons in the tank. Engine... let's not talk about the condition of that xD
Can't wait to pick this up and do a review/tutorial on this bird. It's gonna be exciting. Keep up the good work. I hope to see the 182 or Cherokee make it to MSFS.
I second that, really hoping to see the C172 also. I will be definitely adding the Comanche to my hanger also. A2A's Accu-Sim aircraft are amazing aircraft. I absolutely love the attention to detail, like they say, it's all in the details. These are true study level aircraft. Can't wait A2A!
I want the Cub! But I'm sure that once they've got the Comanche out the door, the others will come a bit quicker :) edit: I’ll be buying the Comanche, just saying that the Cub is top of my wish list after that.
@@josephbanks7937 I hear ya, I did my fight training for my PPL in a Cessna 172. It has a special place in my heart. But I see the Comanche was released today so I will start with that, also an awesome plane.
I always liked your planes in FSX and am looking forward to this one. But the one I really hope to see some day is the Boeing 377 which I thought was your best effort.
Just got the plane, and it's awesome! There's one thing that bugs me though.. in the external view the engine sounds are lacking. Sure I hear the noise of the prop, but no gurgle and drone of an engine! Which is quite unlike the real thing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E5N-_qniMFg.html&ab_channel=LewisBloom Is it a bug? Or is it supposed to be that way? Inside everything is as it should be, and it's just a joy to hear and to fly, especially in VR. Also when you buy the plane you're only permitted 10 downloads. Surely that number will be reset for every update? And why have such a limitation in the first place?
The internal sounds are from our physics and sound engine and the outside has to be using MSFS's sound system but our external recordings are from the actual airplane with high quality microphones, front, back and side. You will notice the same prop sound in the external is the same inside. However it was recorded from a distance, whereas the video you showed was recorded close in. This does dramatically change the actual sound. The further away the more prop you hear and less engine.
@@ShockwaveProd Ah ok thanks for the explanation. That does make sense, but it's a bit different from what I expected. Still very happy with the plance, and as I fly it 99% of the time from inside in VR that's wehat's most important to me. Congrats with the release, the Comanche has quickly become my favorite GA plane in MSFS (and any other sim for that matter).
Takes me back to when I was learning to get my PPL in the Cessna Cardinal. My instructor was very passionate about listening and feeling the airplane during certain power settings, almost to the point of barely needing to reference the engine gauges when changes are being made. This type of immersion is something simulators miss the mark and I believe A2A have been proven pioneers in that regard. I can't wait to fly this baby in MSFS.
The cockpit looks great at the end of the video! (I think that the view was compromised earlier to show more of the panel which makes sense, but looking good at the end there). Great video as well, thanks.
I lived with massive plugs for years and fouling was a constant battle (losing one usually). Then I switched to fine wires and the fouling went away. All the physics are the same with Accu-Sim.
