I’ve taken females to the range and they shot my AI AT 6.5 for the very first time ever on a rifle. With a few minutes of coaching, they can hit the 600 yards plates on the very first try. Incredible accuracy and the ones with the Ruger precision in the lanes next to us are flabbergasted what a girl can do 😅

Nice rifle. Thanks for demonstrating how easy the barrel can be changed out. If I were in the market for a custom rifle I might consider the factory AT-X instead.
One sweet rifle. Thanks to AI for letting you review one. I don't own any centerfire rifles that could be considered precision. 5.56/.223 or 300 Blk are it, and their gas guns. If I was in the market for a factory built rifle bolt gun, this would be at the top of my list. I'd like to see one in 6mm ARC out of the box from AI.
Im a hunter not a target shooter, however, your channel is the best target channel out there. IMHO AI makes the best products of their type out there. Would love to see how the ATX fires with 6.8 which may become the next military standard.
I bought a AI AT 308 because of your reviews of Accuracy International and also a 6.5 creedmore Bartlein barrel. I can't wait to shoot it but cause I live in California we don't have a lot of ranges to test my accuracy but I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Thanks
One thing worth mentioning with the low axis you probably dont want to mount your scope super low. I mounted mine low as i would any other rifle i own and i really have to shove my face into the cheek rest to get a good sight picture. Been running it without the cheek rest until i order some new rings lol
Hhmm. Could be a nice next rifle for me... been trying to decide between the AXMC. AX MKIII. This new AT-X or an MPA. Interchangeable barrels is a must for me. And good accuracy. Now I know that these have the Interchangeable barrels. I think the new AT-X is the direction I will follow... and I like the red or blue chassis
Great review Ray! I'm curious about the Nightforce. What is the problem with it? You seem to apologize for having it on the rifle, but it looked like it was working well for you and the other shooters. I like the reticle too. Which reticle is it? I can't wait to shoot well enough to need this rifle! The ability to change not only barrels, but calibers too would be very useful. Hmmm...might have to sell one of my kidneys, but it looks like it will be worth it! For the blue one of course. 8-) Where can we find more info on this rifle?
The ergos on this look awesome. I just purchased the new action from American Rifle Company and plan to put it in this chassis with the fulll handguard and eventually the folder as well. For your 6BR barrel, was it a 26" and if so did it change the balance point at all?

Do you prefer a chassis or regular stock for just general shooting, non PRS environment? Been getting back into shooting, and after I get the dust knocked off, may build a new, nicer gun than I currently have. Current setup: Savage model 10 24" criterion barrel 6.5cm Manners t5a with mini chassis Older vortex pst sfp mil/mil adjust I have had this for about 10-11 years now, just after the 6.5 came out, but it hasn't been shot much in the past 5-6 years, because of other hobbies. Good review mate.What happened with the miss feed at 6:15 heard these rifles have had feeding issues and the mag catch needs to be shimed or the mags need adjusting. Also have seen other reviews were the mag seems to rattle a bit. There over 8k here in Aus and if i get one i want it to work.😊
Any updates? I may have missed the follow-up to the "follow-up" but am curious as I have a JP barrel kit, hand guard, and bolt and have been pleased with it. Mine is in .260 Rem and it shoots well as far as I'm concerned (consistent 0.68" at 100 yds). The caveat is that I am shooting handloads........

Great review! Wondering if anyone can comment if AT-X would be sufficiently sturdy for trekking and hunting, perhaps versus the AX Mk3 which is the flagship, fully tactical but heavier brother?
That looks like a serious contender as a production rifle. However. Surely it is no longer a production rifle once you have fitted an aftermarket barrel in a non production caliber. Correct me if I’m wrong. With the new world championships coming up I think there a lot of creases to be ironed out.

As long at you have low humidity and it’s climate controlled you should be good. Ammo cans with desiccant are probably the best way to store ammunition long term.

@XRING good to know have some custom builds that feel amazing but always wanted an AI. Just picked up the atx and was kinda disappointed in the action but won't really know until it's nice and broken in.
the AXMC is a long action which is able to switch barrels to 300 win mag and 338 lapua. the AT-X is the successor to the AT- which is a short action similar to the AX.
