Dead right mate it’s a skill that takes a long time and not as easy as he makes it look. Problem is it’s not always easy to see how far trees are overhanging. Iv just returned from a session where I landed in the trees 3 times and iv been clipping up for years. I’m surprised iv got any gear left cos it all nearly got chucked in at one point lol
Just bought two wychwood riots can't wait for them to arrive. Quick question about the pole elastic, can you keep that on the line while fishing and will it stay on/in place when playing a fish?
It really is not as easy as he makes it look takes ages to perfect if u ever do. One tip I would also make is to hold the rod at exactly the same angle each time cos if u move it slightly forward when just about to hit the clip that can be a few extra feet closer
what tip you would give to have better accuracy to left or right ? since my casts are like withing 15angle radius :) thats way off in longer distances.
@@GreenInReg yes, quite a few waters ban fishing whilst clipped up aswell. So as you see in here he'll clip up to cast out, once you've cast out and felt the lead down you'll want to un clip the line. A handy thing to do is to get distance sticks or just use bank sticks spread 12 ft apart (a rod length) and when you're happy with your spot, clip up, bring the line in and count the wraps to you spot, that way, if you have a run or bring you lines in for any reason, you can quickly set the clip again without disturbing the water and should be able to hit that spot again straight away. Especially handy if you've had a marker float out and you fish that swim regularily, you can turn up, set you clip before putting anything in the water and your first cast can get you bang where you want to be. Also handy if you're fishing 2 rods know different places and you need to change the distance on a spod rod.

Great advice however having bought 3 new wychwood 75s big pit reels with the funny looking line clips think they are called asl clips? They don’t work at all. Using 18 pound line 3.5 diameter and putting the line in the clips correctly as soon as you cast out the line pops out as soon as it hits the clip meaning useless so find this very hypocritical from wychwood to put this video out, although maybe the reels in the video have standard line clips that actually work. Anyone have this problem with these reels?
