Donington was the better concert (performance by AC/DC), River Plate was the better crowd (AC/DC still sounded great, but Donington they were in their absolute prime).
For me, it's all about No Bull. Incredible crowd, all the memorable stage props for the different songs, Angus soloing on the platform thing. It's straight fire start to finish
@@nftscreenshotter6436 Agreed. The No Bull show was awesome but I had issues with the sound quality. The set list was top notch and the crowd was insane.
I was there. Went to donington a few times. Had to scream in my friends ear right next to me so loud. Remember one year Concorde flew over real low. Drown out the sound of gig.I also remember near the end of the night people throwing there empty plastic bottles into the sky. Seemed like a hundreds of bottles up there constantly. Stoned as fuck too. Great day out 👊👊👊✌️
In terms of crowd size and energy, the biggest concert event in history that I know of is when AC/DC brought Metallica, Pantera, and the Black Crows behind the Iron Curtain shortly before the fall of the Soviet Union. The Russian people had never seen anything like it and they were thrilled! I have always heard that concert helped put the final nail in the coffin of the USSR. Metallica became metal gods that day. Crowd estimate was over 1 million people
Donnington was a Monsters of Rock festival that has approximately 72,500 people show up for the shows throughout the day. AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slade, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Meat Loaf, Dio, Rainbow, Status Quo, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, ZZ Top, Mötorhead, Scorpions, KISS and Thunder. With AC/DC as the headliner many people were tired by the end of the day. I have seen AC/DC twice and they are the loudest show I have ever seen out of seeing hundreds of bands live......my ears were ringing for 5 days after lol. The River Plate crowd numbers say 200,000 people, but that was 3 different days all sold out so over 60k per show. I like the Donington version myself since the band is younger and more in their prime......one of the best sounding produced live DVD/CD's of all time.
Well you asked so at River Plate in December 2009, Brian Johnson was 63, Angus Young was 55 and the rest of the boys were in their 50’s!!! These lads have been going strong for damn near 50 years now and the formula and energy stays the same no matter what their ages are!!!!!! Just legendary!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!!😎🍸
72,500 spectators The two-hour show was performed before 72,500 spectators and included real cannons, the Hells Bell, an inflatable Rosie and two inflatable Anguses: one to the right of the stage, and one in the back of the stage during Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be.
I saw them in Toronto in 2003 in front of 500,000 people and they rocked us😂 People for miles could hear the festival which went til 3 am with the rolling stones❤
Donington monsters of rock 91. I was there along with around 75000 other like minded music loving, beer drinking and all night partying people. It was one of the greatest gigs ive ever been to. 1988 was bigger but famous for a very different reason.
River Plate has the best crowd but Donington has the best live show because Angus and Brian are in their prime. They are killing it on stage with talent
This 1991 Donnington gig is just over 70,000 folks so compared to some gigs these guys have played it's quite small.....Not as small as the fairly small club I first saw AC/DC play back in the 70's though but they were every bit as awesome as they are at this gig even though they were just getting started. They started as an awesome rock band & just improved on it to be a mega awesome rock band!
When you are in a crowd like this one and for Queen or Bruce Springsteen, it's both the best and the most inspiring, but also very scary. I always think I'll be excited but I end up crying the whole time to be part of a mass of humanity who are all doing the same thing
Great show. Best AC/DC show for me. Great reaction. Could you do Manowar Warriors of the World United LIVE - great reaction track!!! 85M views on the track now on YT
Was at This have AC/DC around 30 x and I would say This is by far their best performance. River plate was a far bigger stage production . Both videos shot by same Producer but technology definitely better now. Donington also infamous for bottles of urine ect being thrown around ! Check out more live performances from This gig suggest jailbreak , high voltage , shoot to thrill for those about to rock
Donington had around 70000 . The monsters of rock Moscow 1.6 million was the biggest crowd they played for but wasn’t a AC/DC concert it was a festival.
@@RoverWaters go look it up any type media it is a estimation but thats is because they lost count around 1.6 million and that don’t count the military & police being there.
@Rover Waters It was at an air base on the heels of the end of the cold war, it was metallica ac/dc and more during a week of cease fire... yeah their was a shit ton of Russian people that just want American blue jeans and heavy rock... 1.6 mill is believable... think about it there's 8.4 mill people in New York CITY alone the population of Moscow is 12 mill right now... I'm pretty sure you're a very ignorant dumb troll that lives in fairytales... 1.6 at a giant airbase totally doable... could they all hear or see it... no
Couple of things river plate is a purpose built stadium lots of room solid floors only acdc and maybe a opening band crowd approx 60k donnington is a big muddy field that saps your energy just walking acdc were the headliners after about 5-6 other bands crowd had been there all day and were now tired 75k+ in attendance
2:18 Song starts 2:28 Paused to say Damn (10 seconds in) 2:44 Song resumes 4:03 Paused again before the first verse was complete so you could ‘rep the squad’ 4:20 Song resumes 4:49 Paused again after the first full verse was complete 5:02 Song resumes 5:16 Paused to talk to your pet One foul tip, 3 strikes looking. I’m OUTTA here. Obviously you aren’t interested in the song or the talent, just the crowd size and your own voice. Damn shame.
Angus Young is not dead Malcolm Young die due to dementia in 2017. They are on tour right now. Angus and Malcolm Young's nephew has replaced Malcolm Young part of the RYTHM guitar 🎸. Bon Scott RIP died of alcoholism in 1980 , so then Brian Johnson took his place as the singer. Keep it going PLEASE their are alot of fans out here 🙏❤. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕
Despite which venue was the best, did anyone ever looked @ how many concerts River Plate ever had? Now look @ Donington...use to have major events, never the same happening everyone... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Festivals_at_Donington_Park
