***** It's possible to get injured by falling, slipping, running into something, crashing, getting hit by something that is not sentient/purposeful (Falling debris), and many other ways, of course.

I know this is years later, but the statement "There's no evidence that Kay was attacked" is correct. Just because she has bandages and amnesia, it doesn't mean that someone attacked her. All it means is that she's injured and nothing more. Kay could've easily ended up the same way by just being clumsy and falling down the stairs. They don't know how she ended up with those injuries and that's the point they are trying to make.

You're right, this was years ago so I don't remember what the heck happened exactly, but isn't it important for them to find out what happened instead of just automatically assuming clumsiness?

That’s kind of the point. Ace Attorney does make a point of showing how corrupt Japan’s legal system can be, often favoring prosecutors and putting all the pressure on defense attorneys to present proof instead.

If they had tried it they could have easily argued that she caused the injury herself, or accidentally tripped...or as Courtney herself said, her alleged victim could have fought back and that was how she got injured. Furthermore her amnesia could be reasoned as a trick to stop them from suspecting her, or it could be a long ploy for her trial where she can feign memory loss for a lessened sentence or anything of the sort. While their logic is clearly corrupt, it definitely holds and they certainly have the authority to arrest her on these accusations, this doesn't imply she is guilty as she would still have to be put on trial for the case(where they'd probably find her guilty, but we're seeing from the perspective of the protagonists who see the corruption in the PIC, the public would not know and they would certainly cover the case up.) Her injuries do not prove she was attacked and it's not enough of a defense to stop her from being arrested.

It helps that Franziska is IMO so much better developed in AAI 1 and 2 compared to her appearance in the original trilogy. She's just much easier to handle when she's with Edgeworth (similar to her cameo in Bridge to the Turnabout). Both investigations games go a long way for Franziska character development. And yes, having annoying rivals like Justine and Sebastian make it easier to appreciate when Franziska is on your side.

That I would have loved to see. Blackquill wouldn't take her crap, similar to how he slashed Nahyuta when he was throwing rosary beads at Athena in SoJ.

MELTMAO the walls of it aren’t solid, and it’s easy to escape. In DL-6 the elevator was stuck and not moving, so the motion wouldn’t set him off, either. It’s the lack of oxygen, throwing the gun, the earthquake, and being trapped that scarred him. None of those factors are at play.

There's just no chances he's perfectly fine with Franziska going around constantly stating her von Karma beliefs. Unless of course being a girl means that Ray excuses her lmao

@@meathir4921 Idk seems like a bad oversight IMO. Ray has every reason to be angry with Franziska since he just met her during case 4. Miles had long since proven himself worthy in case 2 and 3 by this point. Plus he helped Ray to save Jeff Masters, which was so important to Gregory too. I dislike how much Ray is horny on main tbh. It's probably the most annoying thing about such an otherwise great character. Flirting with Katherine Hall? Sure fine, he's known her for years and she clearly reciprocated. Flirting with Justine is a huge WTF. The daughter of Manfred von Karma is an even bigger WTF! Both Kay and Ema are also underage teenagers too

Also, you have to bear in mind that a) Franziska isn’t as hell bent on the Von Karma mantra as she thinks she is (part of AA2 is her realising this) and b) Miles trusts Franziska, and by extension Ray trusts Miles. Furthermore, Ray is actually a really good judge of character; he probably pinned what Franziska was like pretty quickly. It’s also clear that they’re on the same side for pretty much the whole game; antagonising her isn’t going to help the situation. Side note, he flirts in a very not genuine way that makes it clear he’s just trying to mess with people.

Plus in AAI 1 case 5 (Turnabout Ablaze) where Miles and Franziska both refer to another case where a person mistakenly flew. Aka Bridge to the Turnabout where the victim's body supposedly flew over the bridge.

90% of those comments are old, but I totally get where you're coming from. It is pretty annoying how people antagonize Sebastian and Courtney. Especially considering Edgeworth and Gumshoe themselves didn't start off pleasant either when they first appeared. Same with Franziska.

Nice pun! But I'm gonna have to disagree that people can't complain about a frustrating character. I haven't seen case 5 yet so I have no idea if Justine gets better or not. But she's kinda unbearable at times in case 2-4 thus far. Sebastian is at least a naive idiot but Justine knows better and yet she's clearly corrupt and negligent. You can forgive ignorance like Sebastian but it's harder to accept deliberate negligence on Courtney's part.
