@@YoutGotThisMannah actually lol, he got a mention too. And he was originally supposed to be the SoJ detective so if anything he got more acknowledgement than Franzy 😂
fr it's so real of him💀 first he's like Wright why tf did you bring me here but by the end he realized it was an opportunity to infodump about steel samurai
It's because this anime trailer was made for Japanese audience, and Japanese fandom is mostly girls who adore handsome male characters. They don't care much about female assistants.
Epic level move from Capcom. I don't care how many times this game is rereleased or ported. It is a masterpiece that deserves to be on every console and platform imagineable.
They legally cant mention the crossover because they'd have to pay Level 5 to use the characters introduced in it. There was a poster released for the 20th anniversary which had all the rivals together including Barhnam and because he was on it theres a little "level 5" credit on the bottom.
Probably cause of the fact that Ghost Trick and all the other games shown in the video are on modern gaming platforms, while the Layton crossover isn't. Ghost Trick being made by the same person who created Ace Attorney probably also helps.
Yeah he voiced Phoenix for the anime English dub! Though it sounds like Kyle Hebert voices Edgeworth who's the game voice so I wonder why the mix and match
@@Lennyohh I'm gonna guess they couldn't get Sam Riegel because he's recovering from Tonsil Cancer. Also now that I think about that's probably why he didn't voice any of the AJ Trilogy episode promos.
Apparently, the in-game VA of Phoenix Wright, Sam Riegel, is recovering from complications regarding his tonsils right now. He can't provide the "OBJECTION!" that Wright is most well-known for. So Capcom got the next best thing: *GODDAMN ERIC VALE.* THE GOAT FROM THE PHEONIX WRIGHT ANIME DUB. I'm not gonna lie, whenever I read Pheonix's in-game dialog, I read it in Eric Vale's voice, so it's a pleasure to have him back as Pheonix Wright again. And after all these years, Eric Vale's still got it. It's like the anime never stopped. God I wish this had a blooper reel like the Ace Atourney anime dub did, Eric Vale was a goddamn _comedian_ there, and the other cast members even joined in on his shenannigans. They definitely sound like they all had one hell of a time. Go watch the blooper reel if you can, it's a real hoot!
Iirc, I've read once in the comments on some video containing the bloopers that every VA was trying to make the others trip in their attempts in funny way, no just Eric Vale. And boi did they do a great job at that!
(RU-vid isn't showing the reply I just wrote, otherwise I would have edited it) I meant as in the other VAs didn't do it after he started, but rather that everyone started more or less at the same time
@@gemmaster1003 to be fair Sam is in recovery from throat cancer right now, so that’s probably why he’s not here. but I do agree it’s odd to have one from the anime and one from the games lol!
Each trilogy/Duology is kinda standalone. Only one that doesn’t entirely work as a single story is Investigations just because you kinda need to play at least the first two games of the original trilogy.
The beginning of each collection is fine standalone is what they mean. Though AAI works best if you at least play AA1, ideally AA2 as well given how prominent Franziska is
You just contradicted yourself with Edgeworth's statement, my friend He said "every title we've showcased today" and they showcased every collection of games instead of individual entries, so Edgeworth is innocent on the charges of spreading misinformation 🫵
@@Eddie_Enfer a lot of characters appearances in AJ Trilogy and AAI collection won't make sense to you if you haven't played the original trilogy. Even Edgeworth himself in AAI wouldn't make sense without his AA1 backstory
@@GAMIE64 I think that was the implication considering that's what they showcase in the footage. I wouldn't recommend starting with Investigations or the AJ trilogy, but I think they stand on their own enough that you *can* play them on your own
That create contradiction if it set during Phoenix Wright trilogy so to fix it we need to put it at current timeline which is aa6 soj that happened at 2028 so that mean judge video release at 2007 which luckily RU-vid has been release at that time
Eric Vale as Phoenix? Sure. Makes sense as he voices Phoenix in the anime dub. Shame they couldn't get Sam Riegal in but makes sense as he's recovering from tonsil cancer.
Man, that was so fun to watch. I kinda wish they’d do more random videos in this format of the characters just kind of going over the lore in the series. Apollo and Trucy starring in one would be adorable.
I like that Phoenix is the one who introduces Edgeworth’s rivals in Investigations. Funny to imagine Edgeworth coming back after the events of Investigations and immediately calls Phoenix to complain “Wright you won’t believe the bullshit I’ve been through this month”
There's a term, the Capcom Test, where if you want another game in a series you'd better buy the current ones out. Well, Capcom, I have every single thing mentioned in this video, as well as every single Mega Man compilation. Have I passed the test yet? Can you give me either a new Ace Attorney or a new Mega Man?
As a fellow Megaman and Ace Attorney fan, let's suffer together with the Darkstalkers fans over there 🫂 At least for ace attorney we got the aai2 localization, which is a win, but I bet they'll release the professor layton crossover before aa7 so it should take a while for aa7 yet, IF they release aa7 someday. Knowing Capcom they'd rather re-release absolutely everything rather than releasing a new game
having Eric Vale (Phoenix's va in the anime) but not Christopher Wehkamp (Edgeworth's va in the anime) is throwing me for a billion loops lmao (I dont mind Kyle Hebert at all, and understand Sam Reigel is recovering, but the combo of the two not matching is a bit odd imo idk)
I don't think its inclusion here is meant to say that it's a spin-off at all. They included it because it was made by the same people behind the Ace Attorney games and has a similar mystery component to it that has much of the same appeal as Ace Attorney does. It's more like an, "If you like Ace Attorney, check out this other game that is shorter but more focused and with unique gameplay that's nothing like what you'd find in Ace Attorney but still scratches a similar itch."
You definitely cannot play Investigations without the trilogy. The only collection you can play out of order is Chronicles, but I would prefer to wait until the end because that's when the Great scale hits the hardest
7:16 This is terrible advice, shame on you Capcom. 4-6 and Investigations lose a ton of impact without knowing 1-3's story. Character development, attachment, backstories, etc. Great job spoiling all the surprise returns in this video aimed at newcomers too. To any newcomers reading this: Play the first 3 games before 4-6 and Investigations 1-2. Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is actually self contained and can be played whenever. Safest bet? Just play everything in release order, it's not rocket science. Listen to the fans, not the company who only cares about getting your sale.
Capcom, where is our beloved "Steel Samurai: Warrior of Neo Olde Tokyo" game series we have been waiting for since 2001? Don't disappoint Edgeworth and Maya and all our fellow fans now. But joke aside, thank you for this. I feel like I just watched a Japanese talk show / live podcast in full English dub and it is glorious.
@@TheShanicpowerI mean, Orion’s greatest issue as far as I was aware was being a bit of a creep on Critical Role (and fudging dice rolls). I don’t think that 100% compares to Ben Judd, who was accused of sexual assault and harassment by multiple former colleagues
I really enjoyed seeing them both animated and dubbed, and I love how they got Phoenix and Miles to introduce all the games haha! Including Ghost Trick for some reason, I guess that‘s our stepchild now
okey great video BUT - where is the deleted scene of Phoenix and Edgeworth kissing on the sofa? - where is 60min Bloopers/Outtakes Version with Eric Vale making stupid jokes
Aw, this was so fun and cute! Hearing Phoenix and Edgeworth chat about Ghost Trick, wow! And Phoenix finally weighing in a bit on Edgeworth's Investigations, like acknowledging Shi-Long Lang, ah! I wonder how they'd get along! Cute and fun stuff, love that this whole series is so accessible and feels like it's gotten so much love lately! Would gladly listen to these two blab about Steel Samurai, but looking forward to whatever may be next and wishing you all well!😄♥
