Small details are important. And the Green Stars on US aircraft is a very rare, very significant feat. The fact that Bishop has 5 Green Stars, is extremely impressive.
This game is fun, action packed, well animated, and overall a good game. However, I still don't consider it an Ace Combat game. It feels more like Call of Duty Air Force Edition.
We got Specter missions, Heli Missions, Actual Bomber Missions, and the COD Gatling Helicopter missions. This game got variety for mission types, i hope to play them again
It’s always fun to come back to this game occasionally. Although, given what’s been going on in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, and knowing the military organizations involved in this game (ie. NATO and Russia), it makes it weird to play this game again knowing that.
Not really, considering this kinda happened in Syria against Daesh (ISIS). Especially since, in this world, Russia pulled a COD and went into a massive civil war.
The helicopters, the bombing run in the B-1 Lancer, the immersive cockpit character camera, the cutscenes, and the missions around the world.... we're the unique standouts in the game. I miss this soo much. Would have been excellent on Next-Gen. This game is extremely polished. Unfortunately the DFM (dog-fight-mode) was forced on the player, which made it extremely repetitive because of the sheer amount of enemy targets In the missions. I believe that if DFM was used sparingly, it would have been very different. They were trying to set up set-pieces for us to dynamically fly through, but players were just tempted to button mash through them, which led to chaos, and misunderstanding of the mechanic. And obviously, because of the on rails effect, time-to-kill was extremely unrealistic. It was fun though, and the camera views were great. I wish they iterate on this mechanic and make it completely optional. And add it in future games ONLY, and I repeat, only as a visual feature, with a transition from normal flight so smooth that it's completely unnoticeable! .....it would have potential then. Because remember, we do have missile view as a feature. Anyway, the was a LOT of effort and work put in this game. I don't want it to go to waste. I love the AC series too much! :) ... I want more of this game.
I have been a fan of the Ace Combat series for a long time. I have to say, "Ace Combat Assualt Horizon," is a good action packed summer type blockbuster. In fact, the story from the film,"Hunter Killer," starring Gerard Butler, reminded me of this game, so much, that I decided to gave it another playthrough and I really did enjoy it. Furthermore, could see both the game and film taking place at the same time, in a fictional setting of course.
Never got to play this one but I can understand why this game went under fire, especially from long-time fans. It's such a different direction than what previous installations were about. It seems like an experimental stage for this series. Now that's not necessarily a horrible thing - a bit of variety and experimentation can help expand the creators' minds. Personally, I do appreciate the emphasis on the nitty-gritty you don't get to experience in most AC games. (For example: How you get to play the gunner to eliminate small targets on the ground, the experimentation with interactive cutscenes, the experience of the pilot inside of the plane, etc.) All-in all, this seems more like an experience - I wouldn't mind giving it a go someday, but with a fresh mind that is not expecting the classic AC formula. Perhaps VR could improve it as well?
To me Ace Combat is usually about a great story set in a fictional world to show you how horrible war is for every side. That, and the beauty and freedom of flying. This game has none of those. When you make it more about war and violence, and move it to the real world, lots of people are gonna be upset; for some people it's even traumatic.
I've been an ace combat fan for years and even though this wasn't my favorite of the series it still was decent.... the only thing i wasn't keen on was the fly on rail dogfight mode but it sometimes added epicness to the game play when you fought bosses such as this one. I loved flying the B1 however
@@wetube6513@wetube6513 me when someone telling me one pilot can't change a tide of war in a arcade game with broken physics in a fictional world and storyline and the said pilot is holding a nuke button that can erase a whole nation: 😱😱😱😱😱
This is ten times better than everything on strangereal except AC Zero and AC 5 (the first is epic, the second is good). People who yell at this and say "oh~~its good US and bad Russia again"--freaking serious? This time the rebels actually managed to step onto US soil and tried to bomb Washington D.C., like your minds are freaking wrong--if it is really the cliché, then the Russians would be nowhere near getting onto the US, and the final mission would always be flying through stupid tunnels like all the other modern air war games all the time. Don't even get me started on what is wrong with strangereal--it is all the same except for AC Zero--foreign invasion, retreated, fought back, became unstoppable, took control, clear up the rest of the resistance--it is freaking tiring and the real big old fat cliché. Just facts, and "you have lost your freaking minds"--line by Warwolf 2. You are way more than welcome to have me smoke you in your ridiculous view on the gameplay as well--too bad you just do not know how to appreciate the game.
Just an idea of how to make AH fit into the Ace Combat series. An extremely advance terrorist organization threatens all of Strangereal and cause an all out war. And so like all the other Ace Combat games, a single Ace manages to turn the tide of the war into the Allies’s favor. With the terrorist on the brink of defeat, their end seems near. However, a group of terrorist scientists develops some sort of “portal” machine that allows them to escape into our world. Once in our world, they begin to rebuild. Noticing our technological inferiority, they threaten our world with their world order. This is where Warwolf Squadron comes into play. Warwolf Squadron travels the world, desperately trying to defend our free world against a terrifyingly powerful, technologically superior unknown enemy. Meanwhile, the Strangereal Ace pursues after the terrorist group. The Ace and Warwolf Squadron’s first encounter isn’t too friendly as Warwolf tries to shoot the Ace down thinking it’s another member of the unknown terrorist group. However, after convincing Warwolf Squadron that they are not the enemy, the Ace and Warwolf join forces to bring down the terrorist organization. Under the guidance of the Strangereal Ace, the Ace and Warwolf slowly begin to reclaim back what’s our and bring the terrorist group back to their knees, the player alternating perspectives between the Strangereal Ace and Warwolf. In the second to last mission, the Strangereal Ace is shot down by the enemy Ace and severely injured, leaving Warwolf as the only pilot potent enough to shoot the enemy Ace down. In a showdown at Washington D.C, Warwolf uses the knowledge and tricks handed down by the Strangereal Ace to fight against the enemy Ace and ultimately shooting the enemy Ace down and winning the war. It’s just an idea. Not necessarily a good one but it’s at least something.
Russia aren't bad guys, Russia are good guys but they're loyalists and also allied with US and NATO to fight against the NRF Rebels (New Russian Federation) anti government forces.
I hate the fact that this game was hated to it's grave by AC community, it definitely an experimental potential. Say everything you think about it, it won't change my mind as my favorite AC game
This game would have been a great game .... but it was shot down because of that infernal Dogfight Mode / Close Range Assault system...I sure hope this feature never resurfaces in another Ace Combat game...
Nice dogfights, but this game that made me stop for a while playin AC Series. Why, because the hero not just me for the entire game. The other u'r video here reminded me of - how my squad enter the fray in Area B7R or ...in AC4 (I forgot the name of the mission...), how the other friend/foe squad call out my squad in radio chatter... It still give me the thrills ...he99x
Imo only good thing in this ace combat was the number of planes you were able to choose from. It felt like a christmas after ace combat 6 where you were able to fly only 15 planes i think.
As always the cutscenes in this game are awesome, they did loose how well the game plays from the first 3 games. Planes take too much damage to kill making it unrealistic (ace combat distant thunder was the best for this, as the ace 'yellow' squadron had normal amounts of health but were incredibly hard to hit.. :/) and love they kept some music from ace combat squadron leader as well
Positive things about AH Several playable characters AC-130, Heli Gunner, and Attack Chopper The negative things Stupid lock on roller coaster dogfight Crappy defense mission where objective instantly failed Enemies eating lead like it was nothing, can do cobra so many times including the main characters Random ass QTE Attack Heli doing insane roll just to avoid rockets
I have one strange thing about this game and its illich when he was talking with bishop his voice was like 30old man but when you fight him here 1:33:05 his voice is like 80 years old man flying with fifth gen stealth aircraft wtf is this ???!!!1
typical ace combat we play as the demon lord or the man who shutting down the yellow 13 n in this game we played another character n the hero it's not me so im kind hate this game .... cant wait to play ace combat 7
Okay, I see now that all those idiots who were telling me that Battlefield is the best military game there is robbed me of many joyful moments!! Except GTA5 I didn't play any game for many years coz when I saw the apparent best games there are I lost apetite! They were all without the climate. I have missed whole Ace Combat series! Now I see they were all great. At least they seem to be so
So the sound effect in the ac 130 changing cameras is the same sound effect as in changing from normal missles to special weapons no wonder this game a train wreck
hehe however i think its real game in 2016 will be a war usa russia as you can see the signs today, i am stucked at akula now because my plane is not good enough but also i dont know how to turn invert like akula does :(
Great cutscenes, epic music, awesome story and atmosphere but!! Shity gameplay and mechanic :( if Ace combat will be less shity arcade ehh. Will be epic game with more Players
Call of Duty: Assault Horizon. Goddamn this game sucked-- the QTEs were shyte and the storyline and acting were somehow worse!! Easily the worst Ace Combat game.
I honestly didnt like assult horizon because everything seemed scripted. Like you cant shoot someone down earlier than the game planned. Also you couldnt really choose which plane to fly. And unlike zero or 4, youre not really an ace who shoots down other aces :( just another day at work lol
The only reason it’s America vs Russia is because they wanted to have the cool planes and only America and Russia had the F22 and PAK FA Plus on the last attempt to have an AC game set in the real world it was even worse.
41:03 This game might be shit and whatever, but i can't lie, this give me goosebumps to this day, and was what made me love this game. Fuck whatever anyone say, this is an excellent game for me, judge me to death.
All they had to do was ditch the real world setting and dogfight mode. Could have been great. (Still want to see more combined-arms gameplay like the gunner/apache/ac130.)
