Here are some of Ace of Base's demos versus their released versions. This is not an exhaustive list, but I chose the songs that have changed most throughout the recording process. No copyright infringement intended.
It's amazing how they sound 100% better when it's just Malin doing all the vocals even the rap. Now I'm convinced her siblings were holding her back from an amazing solo career. She could have been the Swedish Madonna without a doubt.
@@187onasimp I really do believe Malin just wasn't into it anymore. Listen to "everytime it rains" that was done on one take just like celine dion with the titanic song. It's amazing that some songs are only done with take. From my experience, I was super outgoing at one point in my life and then when the pandemic happened I became reclusive.
@@onetwocue You know we all say that about her but I think she really did enjoy making music and singing. She was in the middle of doing her own solo projects and wanted to get more hands on in production. What I think burnt her out was Jenny. She didn't want to step on her toes and outshine her sister. But we brought AoB albums for Linn's voice and she was considered the front woman of the band. That had to of had not been good for their relationship with Jenny in the shadows and getting a bit jealous of Linn's attention. Probably made Linn feel guilty. Every time it Rains where Clive rejected Jenny's voice and demanded Linn's must have been the tipping point. Just gathering excerpts over the years from their interviews and even how Jonas used to tell Clara (when they tried to reboot AoB) about how the old AoB members would fight it says a lot that it might had become toxic between them all music and business wise. Can't imagine that making her want to escape that life and leave it entirely. She couldn't make music without hurting.
@Fabian81 you think so? I don't. Look at, I'm just saying in general girl groups like the pussy cat dolls. Their lead wasn't white or blonde, swv, their lead vocalist was the best dark cocoa color, beyonce in dc is black, linn just had an amazing voice. It's just a very distinct voice that stands out.
@onetwocue, Yeah of course, but what sucks is Clive Davis was all in it for himself, looking to opportunize off of Linn's talent. Between Arista and Mega records, both having their own ridiculous notions and demands, it created a further split in how things were to continue. It's just ashame what had happened, had happened. I highly love and respect both Jenny and Linn, for me, each of them have qualities and character that the other person doesn't, and they compliment each other in the AOB style.
I became obsessed with the "Sunshine" Song, and I've only come to know of the song recently from their first performance. It makes me reminisce about having grown up or spent time in Göteborg to have maybe gone for a beer after work to some nightclub to have heard their first performance there that night. It would have been the most memorable time for me, because even upon hearing this song by itself, I would have fallen in love with the from that time very early on!!! In so many ways, I wish Tech Noir was still a thing even alongside AOB.
Love AoB! They literally saved my life in the 90s. Love this mix of what ifs. Both of their voices bring me inner peace 😅❤. Jenny’s Come and Here I am is phenomenal!
