@@james10739 nah, it's a common way of making flat top cells compatible with button top contacts among the flashlight geeks at candlepower forums. the largest surface areas are used as contacts, so it's like a really fat and short wire.
Thank you yes this is a valid point I will pin your comment to the top to help others. I was going to buy a pack of magnets from Fasttech i may grab some for this issue.
Sorry for the late reply I'm still catching up on replies ☺️ Thank you say much for the very kind support. I find that if I make sure to do long reviews I can cover all the things people were asking in the comments section. Also it shows I do take a long time to test the lights and also I get carried away lol I will keep the long form as long as it is enjoyable for viewers mate 😁👍👍👍👍👍
I appreciate that so much. i do spent a long time doing them to make sure I am helping viewers with as much information as possible so they can see exactly what they need to rate a light. I will keep going :-)
A most informative, thorough and entertaining review of the E70, thank you. I love the beautiful looks and the nice even spread, a great and useful torch. I ordered one, it's on the way, can't wait.
Glad you enjoyed it. I like how this light design looks and how the beam looks, cant fault it I just wish it was cheaper :-) Still got myself one though :-) Let me know how you like it when it arrives its super nice to carry and use.
@@TrailTrek Thanks for the reply. Yes it's kind of irresistible but worth it, hey. Now that I've been using this wonderful light, it more than lives up to the hype, I live in the country with very little lighting about and when I walk around with this torch, wow, it lights the way so well, wide and natural, I've hardly used the turbo mode, mostly the Mid2, it's easily bright enough and gives long lasting power. The E70 Al is not just a pretty face but a practical, lightweight, very well made, delightful tool, possibly one of the best EDC lights out there.
the Convoy M3....affectionately known as the East German hand grenade, mind you for the period it was introduced it was a jkt pocket powerhouse without having to go to a soda can light good old Convoy looking out for the budget user. 🤘
Thank you I love to hear when a video helps others. I love the looks of this light, i was getting sick of similar designs and wanted something that had a new look and couldn't resist this one. i had been getting a few messages from Acebeam users asking me to try them and im glad i have now.
Well I have an older M2T but the pro is a nice output. This is what id say. This looks better but the olight ones with an R in the name have that lovely time saving of using a mag charger. However the output on this is massive in comparison. 1800 lumens on the light compared to the 4600 on the Acebeam. So is more output on the Acebeam what you want or less than half the lumens but mag charging on the olight stuff.
Thank you for this great review! Please don't touch battery springs in public: grease, acids and dust from the fingertip worsens electric contact and your light's output.
Thanks I'm so happy you enjoyed the review. I clean my contacts with alcohol before I store lights usually so I'm ok so far. Don't tell anyone I'm a spring fondler lol 🙂👍. Have a great day.
I like a bit of olight and I feel like this flashlight is up to the same levels of quality. How do you feel about its size and looks? I can get this in my pocket ok and love the styling on it.
@@TrailTrek it’s definitely a light to get use to. To be honest I wanted if I should have gotten the regular one or maybe a different light. I know this light is not designed for throw but it’s just what I’m use to. I wanted something similar to my olight all metal body but with a glass lense/reflector and no rubber buttons. But still have “tacticle” settings. After much research this it what I came up with.
I think it's a good looking, well made light that will serve you very well for years. It's one of my favourite to carry and I have tons of lights now but it stands out for me
Love the review and the effort you put into it!! I really appreciate all the "extra footage". That flashlight is just beautiful, but for the price I would choose the olight m2r warrior pro or the warrior mini 2. I like the tailswitch better on those. I wish you a great weekend!!
Thanks for the support mate, yeah the olight stuff looks and works great, i was out with the olight M2T warriors last night doing tests and worked like a champ. You enjoy the weekend to mate.
Great Review , Sweet Looking Light . The double wall put some off but I found great looking . Keeppower typ-c USB rechargeable 21700 3.6v 5000mAh in pairs , I have the 18650 3200mAh batteries they are fantastic .
I every day carry 5 flashlight, for edc i carry 1 olight m2r pro worrior for throw and acebeam e70 for flood in my pouch, in my car acebeam L35 flood and L19 throw and L18 green for hunting.
they should just sell this light with battery included to save you trouble out of the box like olight does with all their lights. and magentic charging would be nice if more adapted so no need for even take out battery.
Yeah I'm surprised at this price level they didn't do that. They could have changed the trail switch slightly like some of the olight stuff I would have still loved the light it wouldn't ruin the look. I'm guessing they do a version with no cell so it looks cheaper until you see the fine print. 😁
Lovely beam spread and tint, but that battery is a dealbreaker for me - having to unscrew the torch and take it out every time is almost as much hassle as using a separate charger. Got to be in-body USBC for me now. I don't like the UI and tailswitch either, but that's personal preference, it's a very nice torch overall. Way too pricey for me, but it's nice to see some more interesting body designs.
Yes all valid points mate, im surprised we don't see more of these unique designs as the market ir ripe for this type of thing there are tons of 2170 or 18650 lights we need some cooler looking bodies on them. Also for the higher prices id like to see more Oled screens even if they are small to show battery and remaining time etc. Also i know its a dream but what about they all adopt Qi wireless charging standards, my last 3 mobile phones have had that and i don't need to pug them in to charge it would be nice to just stick my flashlight on a normal standard charger and get it to top up!
@@TrailTrek right on, although my new Samsung A52 doesn't have wireless charging! I'd like to see all settings on an app as well as the button, it's far too fiddly pressing a button 20 times, it seems comically primitive to me.
Yes it's a good point, complex UI is fun but even I have issues remembering all the settings at times. An app would be cool that's a really good idea! Plus you could use the app to flash updates.
Interesting. in regards side switches what type do you like? im a massive fan of a recessed button. So many lights these days feel like the button is a last thought.
Excellent I hope you are enjoying it. So far its s till working perfect and i still smile sometimes when i do a turbo, i just think the way the op reflector does a nice smooth job with those lumens is great. its my posh carry as i call it. Still functions as good as the day i got it i just dearly wish it was cheaper so more people could enjoy one. How do you find it?
@@TrailTrek Mine is still on the way. Great to hear its holding up good and you still like the light after all these months. Yeah, im with you regarding the price. Cant wait for mine to arrive. Thanks for the reply. Have a good one.
@@knuckle0103 Ah right well when you get it let me know what you think i honestly think you will love it, its one of my favorite lights and i have like 70 plus and im a picky person :-) Wishing you a great weekend and if there is anything I can help with just give me a shout.
I have a few usb rechaergbles where the port has been damaged due to accidental dropping. My old Fenix uc35 port is a bit wonky and it hasn't really been used that much. To be honest I like olights magnetic charging, its a personal preference really.
I've been lucky so far and not had any ports go funny on me, but it can happen. I do have stand alone chargers though so can whip the cells out and charge that way if needed.
Mag charging is a time saver on EDC lights it a nice feeling to just put it near and 'click' it attracts and starts charging. the only thing that annoys me a bit is when you need a proprietary battery on some lights with mag charging because they always was 20 or more bucks for a cell :-( But it is nice when its working. One small issue I had with my Armytek mag charging was when I dropped it on an old mining access road and the grit on the path was full of iron ore and iron particles. as a result it was a nightmare to get the attracted particles off from the mag ring groove! Wouldn't wash off and could hardly get them out off the magnet.
@@TrailTrek the small olight rechargeable batteries which cost £6 seem to be constantly out of stock, you can’t use any other rechargeable in the baton 3. The s1r2 could use cr123 and other rechargeables at the expense of not being able to charge them.
