I have this light in a Limited Edition O.D. green color. Despite the 2-way clip and my strong preference for bezel-up carry. I don't recommend doing that with this light. The head is actually quite bulbous and sticks out too far out of a pants pocket. While the light doesn't flop over when clipped bezel-up, I can see it *easily* snagging and falling out. Especially when exiting from a car. I mean just barely less than half the length of the light sticks out if carried bezel-up. I think the clip is designed for bezel-down carry with the option to temporarily clip the light onto the brim of a baseball cap in the opposite direction as an improvised headlamp. A heavy and awkward improvised headlamp. But clearly in a pants pocket, this is made for bezel-down carry.
No worries at all mate. Happy to sell you the one I have if you want the discount. Only used to review. If you are interested hit me up on FB under Flashlight Mike. Cheers
Hey buddy that's a great torch, just yesterday I bought the P17 but its a much bigger torch, I think most people would gravitate towards the more pocketable P16 Great review, take care = )
Watched a couple of your videos, definitely subbed. I really like the P16 been eyeing it for a while I just really wish they'd made it with a smooth reflector as I think the beam pattern with one is more useful than just a super tight hotspot!
Yeah you are definitely on to something. I am a fan of TIR optic lenses but it depends on the application and use of the light. Smooth reflectors are more divers for sure. Thanks for the Sub mate!!
Does it feel like it could stand up in a real self-defense emergency? I currently edc a PowerTac E9R G4, and while there are lights that “outshine” it in lumens and candela, I carry it bc it feels nigh indestructible. Like, I have no doubt I could break a window (or a dude’s head) if I needed too, and it wouldn’t phase the Powertac. How does this one feel?
Anything that has this kind of lumen output will work for self-defence. Only issue is, the dual tail switch may get confusing when adrenalin is pumping
recently got this delivered and yesterday i had to use this for my work and i can guarantee that this is a head turner even in late afternoon sunlight when you shine it at someone's face at 2-3 metres , all three persons had to look away or put their hands up to block the light, very happy to have this in my collection.
I just got this late and it will not come off strob mode no matter where I do. It'll even stay on turbo for a second and then go into strobe all by itself. I'm returning to Amazon and they're going to make me pay for shipping. what horseshit!
Excellent reviews by both you and Darren Yeo on the Acebeam P16. Im really sold on getting this light as I've been looking for a "tac" light in this size, performance and price range for a while now and whilst you can only go to instant turbo if it is in mode memory, it ticks all the other boxes for me - so I am getting one. Sorry to be sentimental but this light is bloody gorgeous as well. When it arrives I shall name her her "Barbie" as all my torches have names.😂.
The Fenix tk16 v2 is more of a floody thrower tactical light compare to this acebeam. You can compare this to the fenix tk20r v2 (21700) or the Fenix pd 32 v2 (18650)
@@flashlightcrazy great. i'd offer to send mine, but i'm in the states. i'm on the same journey as you. i kept the p16 and ta30c with fr1 ring. the ring is really nice. and the single stage turbo/strobe is brainless simple. love the magnetic dial for getting to low settings when close up. the beam on turbo punches above the raw specs somehow... thank you for the wonderful videos. i watch them all.
@@quickcuts3000 Thanks very much for engaging and for watching. It's why I began these videos, to share my journey and check out some cool lights on the way. Cheers mate! Look after yourself
