Very thorough and complete review. I'd actually already bought this laptop and had a super favorable viewof it. I've added a second SSD, which was a snap to add. I'd recommend this machine to any normal use.

I want to thank everyone that has watched this video. I’ve had this laptop for over a year now and it’s still running strong. I will be upgrading to the new MacBook Air soon but, I want to say that if you can’t afford a premium device this is a great start. I’m not sure how the market has changed since the making of this video but, I like to check Amazon from time to time and this laptop is still competing at somewhat the same price. Thanks once again.

I've been looking into the $509 version. Good to know that one of the RAM sticks is soldered on the board. 8gb should be plenty, and tbh 20gb is over kill on a laptop of this caliper in my opinion Thank you a bunch!

Good review, but this laptop has some major (in my view) flaws from the get go: no SD (microSD) card port, no external microphone port, and... why would you locate your laptop speakers on the bottom?

Hello mister, I am about to buy this laptop soon. I want to ask about the RAM model you get, is it worth it to get a 16GB RAM instead of just adding 4GB RAM. Did you get a new 16GB RAM and replaced the existing one all in all? Is it worth it to get a new SSD drive along with the existing SSD, would that benefit the battery life instead of going with an extra HDD? After you did your optimisation in this model, how many hours of battery life you laptop is getting after a full charge using Balanced or High Performance mode? I like to do light gaming too, I usually play PES or Fifa, are they playable on this laptop without stuttering? If you can't test them, just tell me how good the titles are you playing and in what settings. Maybe I can do a correlation that way. Please clarify those for me because those are the points which matter for me the most. Thank you very much for the video.

I have this model and the ram is not soldered to the board. There are two slots and you can remove the 4gb that is in there, I did. Are you sure you have the right model?

They raised the price about 100 dollars on eBay and Amazon. Probably due to covid19. I still bought one though as I desperately need a laptop!

Do I need a different ethernet cable? My cable won't plug in to this like it did for my Toshiba Satellite which was old.

Lets help Acer, we didn't need the ram on board ( just 4Gb ) and we didn't need the storage that it comes with! And many of us don't need Windows since we use other OS's since we don't need the headache. Obviously we don't need USB-2 since it might mean an old chipset ( maybe the same as the A9 )... here is what we like to see, just a barebones laptop with 4 cores ( forget hyper treading ) at least 3.5 Ghz processor, two empty sockets for DDR4 ram USB 3.1 ( X3 ) 1 USB 3C , no OS ( no windows ). And for your efforts we will give you an extra $100.00 haw's that?.

I have this laptop.. it's WORST... I got black screen error in just 15-20 days of buying it... Service is bad too..they replaced it with a new motherboard.. and now it takes me 4 - 4.5 hrs to fully charge ... compared to 2-2.5 in the initial days😐😐😐😐

I bought this computer all I gotta say is don't buy it The computer is amazing super fast, the screen is really sharp everything feels good but the WORST part is the screen is really really dim and it has heavy contrast, really bad when editing photos , videos or even watching videos

Full in depth review huh? But you said nothing about the expand ability options for the 2.5" hard drive or solid state drive bay (7mm only). Also stating the obvious for the first few mins on the outside is unnecessary as everyone knows what those options are and just wastes time for all the folks who want the details specifications and to see what is under the case.
