Hello everyone, We are going to look at a motherboard repair on an Acer Aspire 5 laptop (A515-54-51DJ) that came to me for a No Power, No charge issue. Let's try to figure out the problem and bring this back to working condition.
Yesterday my Acer A515-46-R3UB suddenly turned off. It does not turn on or charge. I took it to the store because it's still under warranty. It is possible that my laptop has the same problem. I wonder if leaving a single capacitor instead of 2 is a bad thing, maybe the only capacitor that was left is overworking. It could be nice to measure the capacitance of the remaining capacitor and find an identical one, to solder it where the faulty one was.
I agree with you. Usually the rest of the capacitors will handle the load well enough but it would be great to replace the shorted cap. The client informed that it's been 4 months and the laptop still works fine.
I had Acer aspire v5-122p. Each time I plug it into the power, the charger's light is blinking but the system is not coming up. Once I removed the charger, the charger's light indicator will stop blinking. Please what is the possible solution to address this issue?
Are you using the original charger? A blinking charging light usually indicates that the battery is not charging either due to a non-compatible charger or due to a dead battery. Try to remove the battery, plug the charger directly and see what happens.
Hello can you tell me about Acer spin 515 i tried everything and nothing works with reset, battery,only on charger or power button i have check it but nothing works. My Laptop it turns on and goes off immediately and after that it goes on but black screan what could be can you thell me about? The ram is soldered on motherboard i can't check that!
Hello, when the laptop turns off immediately is because it's getting short circuited somewhere as soon the power up sequence begins, I would advise you to check carefully for any burnt or odd looking components. Regards.
hello, when I try to turn on my Acer aspire 5 the blue light turns on but the screen doesn't, then randomly the screen turns on if you keep trying. Then when it's on it works normal for a few minutes then it says it say it's charging even tho it isn't and the keyboard stops working but everything else is functional. I've disconnected the battery for 30 seconds and that didn't work, I also tried troubleshooting with on screen keyboard but it says there were no problems. can you help me pls liked and subscribed
Hello, seems like a keyboard issue. Disconnect the keyboard completely and try to turn on and use the laptop with a USB keyboard. If it works fine then replace the keyboard.
I facing the same issue with Acer Aspire 5 but in my case, when I plug the charger and/or press power button, indicator lights are working, but the laptop doesn't turing on. What seems to be the problem bro?
It could be a power button issue which is common in Acer laptops. You can short the power button contacts (depends on the model) and see if it turns on. Also at one of the contacts 3.3v should be present to indicate that all power rails are working normally.
