You don't need to remove the DVD trimmings. Actually, just leave it be altogether. Also, the main hiccup in removing the bottom panel, when all the screws are loose, is the 3.5 mm sound connectors in the front. Lift the cover beginning from the back and use caution and you will probably be alright. That is also the case at re-assmbly. Slide and tilt the cover over the 3.5 mm connector trimmings beginning at the front first, then it will be a smooth ride.
