Acer eMachine eM350 Netbook - Review & Overview 

I JUST BOUGHT MY EM350 WINDOWS 7 LAST JUNE AND I AM REALLY SATISFIED WITH ITS PERFORMANCE....

Thanks for the review. To the critics: Yes, it's a basic review, but certainly more informative than the specs in my local flyer ... and multiple camera angles.

I too can read the specs off my em350 which I have owned for 7 mths.Its a robust little sucker with discreet built in webcam & mike at top of screen.Screen OK but hard to read under bright sunlight.Left side of the keybd are two USB 2.0 ports ,an Ethernet (RJ45) port,an Ext display (VGA) port,(sadly no HDMI port) and sockets for mike and headphones.Sound is a bit tinny so use headphones.Touchpad can be fiddly. Power plug is nifty,can rotate it to 4 diff posns,but bulky.That said excellent buy

I love the build quality of this thing. Also the fact that it's a really small, 10.1" device, but with a real physical keyboard. It has 2 USB ports, VGA, Ethernet, mike and headphone ports, and an SD card reader, so it's well equipped I/O-wise. However, the processor is extremely weak. Don't expect to surf the web with Chrome. I run Puppy Linux on it, and use it to manage my web site, which mostly entails coding in Emacs (remotely) and doing command line tasks. For that, it's my preferred device, due to its portability. (I have also installed a new 7-9 hour battery.)

What type of battery is used to replaced it’s original battery? Or what unit?

Would i be able to remove windows and install linux onto this laptop? Is there any kind of thing blocking me from doing that? or would it work perfectly fine?

@RIZZLEKYD11 NO .The EM350 is a netbook being smaller than a Laptop Computer, with a long battery life and ideal for travelling. It has a built in Wifi and is specifically designed for internet use and Email. it lacks a CD/DVD drive, but is considerably lighter than common 14" and 15.4" laptops (or notebooks).If you want to watch movies on it or do serious work ,recommend getting good headphones/external speakers and an external monitor.

@spartan30070 Not very well. I tried it on a similar net-book and its VERY laggy and bad. If you wanna play awesome Minecraft, I suggest you get at least 2GB of RAM/memory.

@ipodtouch2ndgeninfo It has windows, so it supports anything that Windows can run. So yes, just install java and you're ready to go, derp.

In one of the comments I read that the 4 hour battery life was disappointing. I can tell you it's great when you have a laptop that has a battery with a 2 hour life.

BEWARE OF EMACHINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I own an eMachines E520 which has had several issues since i bought it, and most emachines desktop have been known to set houses on fire! What i would watch is the charger, my charger is fucked now =/

Your review is just ok not perfect so let me fill in some blanks people might want to know. Performance is rather good. You should know that this is and ACER aspire ONE packaged in to a rather poor quality case. So for build quality it scores a 2 out of 5. The performance is Exactly the same as any Acer aspire ONE with matching specs. I have one with winXP and i have installed WIN 7 ultimate which works just fine. 4 hour battery is disappointing. But for €199 its a great package.
