@PreciousPitty you need to disassemble completely to see if power jack is soldered on motherboard or not,if it is it will be harder to repair cause removing power jack from motherboard usually is a pain, the easiest way is using a desoldering gun as vacum and a 65 or 70 watt iron solder to melt solder , use flux to help melt the solder,good luck .
@natecar101 You should try both the desoldering wick and the plunger and always keep clean the tip of whatever type of irons you are using , some jacks are more difficult to remove than others.
Need help please, do you know if the aspire one netbook D260 dc Jack is soldered in? I was able to disasemble my computer and got as far as the Jack but had a really hard time trying to get it out, I didn't force it cause I know some of these models are and some arn't. Any help appreciated (first timer taking apart my netbook)
