Glad to see you! I agree. Guide dogs are completely different than pets. They are cream of the crop within service dogs. They are an enormous commitment, but needed. Love your videos! Missed them.

Hello Jannell! You are so right that guide dogs are the most thoroughly trained service dogs out there, but this is just my opinion. My daughter brought home a service dog in training, because where she works, they also train emotional support Dash therapy dogs and her dog was furloughed for the weekend to visit with her. She was a beautiful white lab named Ivory Gretchen fell in love and wanted Avery to play the entire time. Ivory however, is already so well trained that she would not eat any treats and did not react at all to Gretchen’s attempts to play. I thought of you the entire time that Ivory was visiting because, someone like you had trained this dog so very, very well! Again, thank you for all you do and have done forever these magnificent service dogs and those of us who are fortunate enough to receive them. Hope you are staying healthy and happy and hope your for babies are doing exactly what you tell them to do. Lol! Love you, Beverly and Gretchen

Hi Beverly. I love old historic homes. They have so much character. I also love porch swings, but a nice Rockingchair will suffice.

Hi Kim, I guess it is obvious that I like historic homes as well. It would be wonderful if you could just sit on my porch with me and visit and watch the people go by. There really is something quite peaceful about putting aside chores and plans to just sit on the swing and visit with a friend. Thanks so much for watching and connecting and stay healthy and happy! Love, Beverly

Hi Beverly, it’s good to have you back and to know you and Gretchen are doing well. I’ve missed your videos. Fall is also my favorite time of year I love the little bite in the morning air, and my dog and I really enjoy going out for walks. Your home sounds beautiful.

Hi Cynthia, thanks so much for watching and connecting and just visiting with me on my front porch. I agree with you, fall is also my most favorite season with the autumn wind, the sound of the leaves in the trees and the crunches on the ground and the refreshing fall Air. Anyway, hope you are having a wonderful fall and just get out there and walk with your dog and enjoy this season! Take care, love, Beverly and Gretchen

Hi Beverly, glad you’re doing well! I love your fall decorations on your porch! It looks really peaceful. I like all seasons for many different reasons. Specifically for fall, I like the colored leaves on the trees. (Hey, I just rhymed there, lol!) I also like that you get to wear sweaters, pants, etc. All comfy warm clothes. I agree with your point with Gretchen. Where you mentioned that to just focus on the positives that your dog does for you already. Or don’t get so upset to the point where you just yell. Since something has already occurred in the moment and it’s over with. I can see what life lesson Gretchen has taught you. I know when my new guide walks into my life, I’ll learn something I’m not even thinking about right now. I think all of us learn a lesson about something in our everyday lives. We also work to be better too. It’s something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. This part is random but exciting! I got a call from Guiding Eyes For The Blind last Friday, November 5. They found a matched dog! Now my family, them, and I are figuring out a good time for training.

Hi Christian, thanks so much for watching and I am absolutely thrilled over your news that your potential dog is ready! There really isn’t the perfect time for training, because, in my opinion of course, life is always happening and something will be interrupted to fit guide dog training into your life schedule. For me, I dropped everything and went immediately to New Jersey when they seeing AI gave me a potential training date. I look forward to watching your videos with your guide dog content and I am really so very excited for you! Take care, Beverly and Gretchen

@@bamablind9916 Thank you!! That’s true, there’s never a perfect time for it. If I have miss school or whatever for training, I’ll do that so I can have time for bonding and to learn everything.

Beverly❣️ This was a wonderful time on your porch and swing again❣️ It's a favorite for me as well! I'm still kind of doing the split sleep thing. I've been restocking in case there's another freeze and camping out situation in the apartment with ERCOT, similar to last February. I've filled a lot of drinking water jugs and pushed them back from the reverse osmosis water machine. Our tap water has been tough to take off and on, when they switch lakes back and forth to the algae bloomed one. I'll need it to cook with if all our water towers go down again. Organizing, trying to prepare in case I need to cook and let people in. I love the description of your autumn mats and wind spinner. :) I have been trying more varieties of apples that I hadn't tried yet. I tried some of the Autumn Glory's and they were really good. The Smitten apples were also good. I have two Courtland's to try next. I recently got a ride to HEB marketplace again, and went a little wild, in their produce section. They had some blends of greens I don't usually find at my nearby United grocery store. The hay-fever and ragweed season seems extra long and extreme somehow. Glad I still have some antihistamine left, just wish I didn't have to keep taking it. It knocks me out, when I want to be tending to lots of other stuff. Meanwhile I keep squeezing in a short fiction book or two every weekend if I possibly can because it seems like it reduces stress down to like it was before we all had internet. It provides an escape like going to the movies used to, or even similar to a short road trip. I changed my phone batteries and it is so amazing to get to do so much more with it while I'm out and still be able to use it to help me figure out what groceries I'm getting at the store, and still have enough charge left on it to not even have to immediately charge it when I get home. My next project is changing the ear pads on my good old Motorola headsets again. So happy I got a multi pack of those the summer before all this lock down. Oh! Plus on my ride the other day, my friend circled around an area of shops hoping she could run in Pet Smart real quick but they had closed earlier than she thought because she had changed all her clocks a week a ahead of time, and was already believing it! 😂 Anyway she drove around the rest of the shopping center telling what was new and what was not there anymore, and suddenly we were at the Academy Sports store, which would've ordinarily taken a more involved longer way to get to, but now, there is finally a bridge over the big deep creek, where we always wished there would be one! There is also a sidewalk on one side of it, which makes me really happy, and behind the Academy store is also a sidewalk all the way along the rest of a road where for years my other friend who is also blind and myself have wished for a sidewalk. This will make those long treks from our Southside Walmart all the way through the newer shops to Target, and then on to the mall, so much easier, with no hard sections of landscaping, sticker fields, or river rocks to try and push extra mobility gear through. I found a news story a few months ago that they changed one of our mall parking lot entrances on the trickier street to cross where it will line up with an actual side street across that way and have a new traffic light crossing where there hasn't been a traffic light or even a four way stop before. So there's also that to look forward to if we ever get to make a whole day of it again, canes, and dog, and chair. It makes it be where we don't have to go along the side of the frontage road on the outer part of freeway loop where it has become crazy with all the exit ramps of cars on triple lanes. All that is near where we went to brunch that day of September 11, 2001. Several used car lots are no longer there and a bunch of new shopping buildings and restaurants have been built. I have probably talked way too long catching up. So good to hear you again Beverly!

Hello Audrey, it is so good to connect with you again as well. Your comment is phenomenal and your ability to put into writing, with descriptions and everything, is phenomenal. I feel like we have just taken a while to sit on my porch and visit. You always have so much going on and you seem to be able to organize your days and weeks in order to get your chores and tasks completed, adding in some fun outings as well. Hope you are healthy and happy and thanks for visiting with me for a while. Love, Beverly
