I did exactly this, never heard of this guy. Picked a goal, made a checklist that would eventually take 4-5 years for me to complete and it DID change my life.
@@lisalim453 Nothing too fancy, but I had an idea for a product I wanted to create. However, as I delved deeper into it, I realised I needed to learn electronic engineering, programming, and manufacturing. My end goal was sketched out on a sheet of paper, laid out like a mind-map with concrete, small goals. For example, building a computer that could communicate over RF frequencies, write a program that can communicate over a network, manufacture a PCB, just to name a few. The mind-map in its entirety was overwhelming, but the individual tasks were manageable, even if difficult for me at the time. Each task was broken down into prerequisites, like practicing/learning CAD modeling, building a simple circuit using transistors, experimenting with oscilloscopes, and decoding binary signal information. I think having these small goals helped me feel accomplished, even when I was still years away from realizing or even being able to understand my ultimate goal. At that time, I was still ignorant of many of the skills I would need to learn. Each time I completed one I placed big green tick beside it. I still look at the scrawled out mind-map from time to time. Ultimately, my end goal turned out to be impractical. A good product, but too expensive and not commercially viable to make a living from. However, the things I learned along the way landed me a job. I used the product, along with its various design documents and prototypes, as part of my portfolio. This eventually led to my current position, which I consider my dream job, a leading role in a famous company. I approached it as a self-made curriculum with self-directed study and project work.
I did this. And I got into nursing school. Took me a year. Now I’m starting school soon. Get things in place/in order first if you need to before moving forward to your ultimate goal. Keep pushing. One day at a time. BUT Never LOSE SIGHT of the main end game

What have either you done to warrant such arguments? Yes, he’s speaking with authority and as-if he’s determined the secret to success, but we don’t know his actual character. Maybe, he did laugh at crypto, or maybe he didn’t. Who knows? But neither action discredits his thesis. You can’t posit that his argument is invalid, because he assumes authority, while still leaning on the argument of authority..(I.e. if he did invest in crypto, video games, and what not that would change your perception of his personal success, which again is not what his speech is about). Furthermore, I don’t think his actual claim is that “this single methodology will lead to success”, it’s more “here is this methodology that I’ve found to work a lot of the time for me and most people I’ve observed”. He speaks otherwise, but that’s just general public speaking skills.

Im thinking the same thing. Like here is someone giving you something to work with but a lot of people latch on to the parts of his advice they don't like instead of the rational part that's worth doing. But I'm satisfied seeing that at least one other person values this. I see why it's lonely at the top.
The 7 steps are actually as follows: 1. Decide what you want in each part of your life and be specific. 2. Write it down clearly and in detail. 3. Set a deadline for your goal and sub-deadlines if necessary. 4. Make a list of everything you need to do to achieve your goal. 5. Organize your list into a plan by prioritizing and sequencing your tasks. 6. Take action on your plan and do something every day that moves you closer to your goal. 7. Reward yourself for practicing your new behavior and associate it with positive outcomes.
@sirstan4897 you don't "need" it, but you can use the brains physiology to help change your worldview... something that we all have on autopilot. These effects can be replicated scientifically. Other than pavlovs dog, another good example but for humans, is Jordan Petersons idea that if you change your body language to be more open, it increases your own brains perception of where you stand in the social ladder, which will improve how you feel and how others see you, which then can snowball in a positive way in your life.
It’s all about perspective and how you define beating cancer. Sure, you can’t cure it on your own. However, you can maximize the time you have left. You can make your final moments as fulfilling as possible. You can leave behind a legacy for your decedents. You can share your story and ease the struggling of others in the future. You can make an impact on this world. Those are always to define beating cancer. If you’re struggling with cancer, you have my sincerest condolences and I do empathize with you. I also encourage you to join groups of others going through cancer and I promise you’ll find many of these same mental reframing techniques being taught. If you can’t beat it by surviving and believe me, that’s what I really hope is your outcome.. you can defeat it in other ways. I wish you well, ❤
whole life is just a wander through life and it's up to you what you will do with it. For example i would like to have a happy family and a good paying job that's not killing me so i can have fun and that's my goal. Right now 23yo and a few steps closer but still the road will take yet another few years and most of my goals changed through the years but some stayed and i focus on them now. Just move forward, don't give up, try to live life with the open arms and accept that losing, crying, misery every bad thing is just a form of learning and strengthening you and if you survive you will become much more resilient and prepared.
I only have 2 goals. To be comfortable, and to be happy. Neither of those require working for someone who considers themselves to be the blueprint for success.
@@cremonster Not really, lifestyle is what you employ consistently towards these goals. Everything else is just pointless fluff that may keep you trapped within a seemingly real mirage fueled by a vicious cycle. It's weird that for many people, living their life means to keep busy from actual living their life. Kind of like thinking your goal is to get those apples when really all you want is to taste their sweetness, but never have time for that as you're busy getting them all as many as you can carry and more.

Well I understand you being sarcastic trying to say not everyones life is similar. BUT you could always try to find the time for the things that matter. Maybe you can come home and always have BREAKFAST with family before they go to work/school and you go to bed after. sleep proper then wake up, exercise then go to work. maybe you work physical so you can skip exercise and spend that time on a hobby that makes you happy. maybe research climbing gear since you like via ferratas. find a way to do the things that matter in your life.@@viaferrata2769

I'm one of them and I have literally made a game of setting a goal for the next day in front of friends and putting bets on the fact that something absolutely impossible to predict will prevent me from getting it done as I planned. As of now my track record on being stopped by the impossible could best be explained by divine intervention.
I am a full time youtuber and make art for a living. I am a great dad I am a great husband I am a gym rat. I have a 2nd car I am a full time student I am disciplined to stick to my goals I will help whoever i can in my path I am a home owner. I have a wonderful relationship with my wife. I don’t recommend following advice blindly like some of the people in this audience… but I can personally attest that at the end of 2023 I started forcing myself to do pushups, and would mark a tally on my calendar for every 20 I did. Starting in 2024 I never bought myself a calendar, and I have definitely been slacking. Something about marking the tally’s and seeing how well I did in the past month really kept me motivated.

Following through with something like this can be life-changing for a person and the majority of people are not able to do it. It was indeed practical @mrfuzziiwuzzii, why dont you try it and see what happens? In college it is called a SMART goal which each letter stands for something. Doing this has helped me achieve my goals. This video is a great reminder for me to do this again.

Your comparing what you would consider struggling to what he considers struggling. Someone who lives in a cardboard box probably would say the same about you. If he was born into money (I have no idea if he was) then it wasn't special to him. He still had things he wanted to achieve outside of having money. Everything is relative. We're all struggling. Having material wealth doesn't mean you can't have other goals that are very hard to achieve outside of that. A lot of rich people aren't happy, especially if they were born into it.

Your control in the outcome ended with your participation in the interview. Want to attend college? Gotta enroll. Gotta be approved. Gotta have a method to pay. Smaller colleges, no big deal. More prestigious colleges are a bit harder. They require bigger pockets and they tend to be far more selective. All of which can be barriers to you from birth. Who you are as a person is even influenced by your environment. You'd be completely different if born and raised in a completely different country. This is what he meant. When you aren't born rich, your sole control in your own life for success is limited to a substantial degree because you're working from within society. Some think I don't have ambition because I don't strive to make tons of money and reach the top. My goal in life is to enjoy life itself. I want to be able to live comfortably and be happy. I don't make so much money where I can go on 5 vacations a year or buy whatever I want. But honestly, I own a house, I don't struggle to eat, I pay my bills and have money left over, I can afford the simple pleasures like going to concerts, date nights, eating out ect. If i want to do a big vacation I will save up for it in advance. I don't have a majorly stressful job. Life is here for us to enjoy we only live once. Materials and money stay on earth when we die so why invest so much into it. Invest in enjoying our time with the people around you and experiences.
I was all for making a list of goals till he added more stuff to the rules. That's way too much to follow. I'm not even past number 9 on my list. How am I suppose to write down everything I need to achieve a goal when I don't even know the goal?? At most I have 4 goals that actually matter. And those are just basic ones. I'm a list person, I have been for most of my 76 years. It never made me any money, but on the day NOTHING was on the list I had a wonderful relaxing day that belonged TOTALLY TO ME!

I quit smoking, and this advice had a hand in helping me. I applied it to myself. The value of your thoughts and ideas is a powerful thing, you just need to see it as valuable.

Even if someone's focus is not on the job it does not mean that they will waste your time because they can't be molded to your liking. If that's really true, then change your "reality". THAT is the reality that you will be in. If ypu LET your present situation define your future, and you are not in jail for murder without the possibility of parole, then you are the one preventing your own advancement.
This advice is mainly just a series of steps to follow what *does* lead to success; careful, intelligent planning and strong action based on said planning. This only applies to those who are in the position to take such action, but it’s not impossible to reach such a position from whatever great adversity you may be facing right now. It IS, however, extremely fucking difficult to an unreasonable degree, so most may not ever reach that point, even with 100%, 110% effort. Good luck to all y’all, and find happiness in what you have if you can’t find it in ambition for what you don’t.

We are physical beings and as such our society has placed value on goods and services we can consume. Those who do a good job at producing much more value than they consume earn the right to allocate capital which effectively decides the direction society pursues.

No, it’s called a system of organization and it actually makes a lot of sense for people that struggle with managing to prioritize things just by keeping them in mind, which is a significant number of people. It can be a seriously impactful tool when you have an actual process in front of you by which you can organize and prioritize in a way that provides visible structure.
10 goals to accomplish in the next 12 months (date it!) and choose the one that will have the most positive impact on your life. new paper - write it down, set a deadline, make list of everything you have to do to accomplish it, organize the list into a checklist, take action, do something every day
