2:57 the reason why we need to deep the strips in distilled water is because •In distilled water the ions are absent . • when we dip these strips in water, reaction stops . •making it easy for us to check cloth without any accident and smell properly.

In distilled water No ions are present..So when acid added in water..they release H positive ions..so we can easily detect the presence of acid in the solution
