It's grad school and PhD interview season so I decided to compile the three most important to ace PhD and grad school interviews. This comes from my experience seeing who did and didn't get into programs after interviews.

I watched your videos a lot during my app process. While writing my SOP, while prepping for interviews, and the like. I have now been accepted into Purdue (my top choice) for counseling psych Ph.D. and a lot of it goes to this channel. Thank you!

I'm doing my Ph.D. interview today and after reviewing lots of different videos last week, this one taught me to be excited about an interview and to just express my curiosity while talking to the profs!! I feel much more confident now. Thank you so much!

Hi Lilian! Respect for the My Hero Academia poster behind you and the Pakkun bag from Naruto, HUGE anime fan as well! Your advises are really good! I have failed an interview for a PhD because none of the standard interview questions I rehearsed showed up to the interview and I prepared a list of answers to read from! I wonder how to deal with the types of personalised questions that they ask?

Thank you so much! Although I can't say for sure because I wasn't in the room, I would say perhaps the issue was that by having rehearsed answers it was hard to have a normal conversation. I encourage you to reflect on the types of questions you received and whether you would have been better equipped to answer them if the mindset you came in with was more of having a conversation. Perhaps it wouldn't have helped - no way to know for sure without knowing what the questions were - but your mention to "personalized" questions makes me wonder if that might have been the issue.

Thanks for the video. And I have some questions about BBS . I am from India. How they conduct interviews for international students (Skype). Can you make sure they already finish their interview process or there is separate interview international students ? You are belongs to BBS so you may aware of what is going on there. So please help me if you find any interview notification from Harvard BBS. 🙏🙏

Also, how can I write SOP if I don't have a specific research interest like I have a bunch of interest that borders around biotechnology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, cancer research. I don't really know which to pursue so how do I draft an excellent SOP with all that uncertainties
