What went wrong with Star Wars? KK. In a way, she basically destroyed George Lucas's legacy, including his characters, and drove away the original REAL Star Wars fans, just so the 'modern audience' she intended to replace them with (I think she's finally getting a reality check now) would get to see The Acolyte, or something like it. That's it . She wanted to replace Star Wars with something more to her taste, after burning the original version to the ground. But thank Favreau for managing to counter some of that, when he could.
Be good if it was true but it isnt. Unless the item in question is bad in nature. I dont remember negative videos on Mando or other projects doing well? Or was it because the majority dont see them as bad or negative. Depends on the populat opinion.
@@JustStarWarsNot as many of those top youtubers maling postive ones. Its been proven on top youtube channels that arent just "hate channels" who literally only make hate videos. You have to look at the balanced channels to view postive vs negative.
Is there a way we can at least try to petition or something or email someone? The show wasn't perfect and I do not often care about pop culture like this but I feel like we were on to something.
...to answer you question, what do i think of the Acolyte being canceled? APPLAUSE 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 So, argument points of review bombing is a vague argument. Like i can say the same thing for the good reviews and call it review bombing. Stop. Silly argument. Im glad you liked it. Good. Really. But you are the minority. The majority of fans didn't. Numbers dont lie.🤷🏽♂️
I hate that they pulled Plagueis out of the proper timeline just so they could shoehorn him in here. Plagueis was for the rule of one and thusly didn't take on an apprentice until he met Palpatine. At this point in the timeline he should have been Tenebruses Apprentice.
Thank you for clarifying what happened with the Acolyte. I enjoyed the Acolyte. I like the Mandalorian and Boba Fett. There are a variety of Star Wars shows I like more than others. I do agree that the toxic and negative reviews given to Acolyte was a bit too much for my mind because it was soooooooooooo negative. There needs to be a balance between criticism and bashing and when it came to Acolyte the toxic criticism overwhelmingly made the show seem like garbage. I personally never seen so much negativity from a Franchise. Too many RU-vidrs Star Wars fans were mean spirited. Wow. But thank you for explaining the shows. The episodes. Thank you for the constructive feedback it’s well balanced. I don’t think they should have cancelled it.
The show was an attack on good vs evil and that's never good for star wars !! Torbin taking poison , for what the witch violated his mind so some how feels guilt over the witches deaths?? 😂 The show was trying to be more then the writing team could handle! And it simply badly written, osha and mae were the least interesting thing in their own show. I wanted them to die 😂 and before u go ur just straight white male 😂 I'm 54 black male who wants great characters and storys! Im not going to like something just cause it has a black lead actor !! Ur characters should have a stance or goal for u get behind! To rout for or against, and what they did to sol , who besides quimir were the standouts of this show, is what alot fans saw as an attack on what can before and somehow the jedi are the villains! I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone. Plus the viewership was low which shows people have lost faith in Disney star wars!!
Unhappy Fans? I am HAPPY Fan now, the garbage fire, called Acolyte should never have been released. I did like some aspects, but overall a horrible show.
I was willing to give the acolyte the benefit of the doubt when I was seeing everyone tear into it before its release. To quote green goblin, I offered them friendship and they spat in my face. The “mystery” was resolved in the first episode. The characters were either bland or unpleasant to watch. I truly do feel bad for manny Jacinto and Lee jung-Jae bc they were genuinely trying to deliver strong performances, but good acting can seldom save a terrible script. If the flashbacks were meant to illicit sympathy for Mae it failed spectacularly bc she’s still a murderous psychopath whose motives are never consistent from episode to episode. And throwing plagueis in for 5 seconds is not including him as a character, that’s just dangling keys in my face to get plagueis fans on the hysteria train for season 2. I WANTED to like this show, I don’t WANT to hate everything that they produce but they’re not giving me any reason to like it other than the threat of being lumped with the real minority of ppl who are genuinely awful people. Star Wars isnt immune to criticism, no property is, but when I’m called an incel manbaby for pointing out legitimate issues then I’m happy this show is being taken down the willow route
@@Gat-Man55 agreed , everyone using attack words to defend this show , clearly Disney star wars has a real problem with the fans , cause the viewership was low and dropped as it went on , and seems to want say that 🤔 but Incels and bigots didn't take down this show the show runner and writing let this cast down!! Manny and Lee deserved soooo much better then this attack on fans that this was. Like the young twins (who didn't look alike) Mae the Jedi are bad , OSHA the Jedi are good!! End of story
I've just watched this video and disliked it for the following reasons: The first trailer received more dislikes than likes, showing people's initial impressions were not good. So how was this review bombed if the actual fans were leaving likes? Wouldn't there have been less of a difference between the positive and negative reactions? This show was at a disadvantage because it had a poor script, unexplained changes in motivation for characters and 2 episodes which were practically identical(the flashback episodes) which just emphasized the lack of plot Headland pitched the acolyte as a multi-season show, she said as much in interviews with Collider to name one. The show broke canon by introducing the twins as being born through the force. The prophecy of the chosen one(emphasis on ONE) was made thousands of years before the events of this show and stated "A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored." Making Osha and Mae be born through the force changed Lucas' established canon, which in simpler terms means the show broke canon. I also think it was very hypocritical of you to say that most RU-vidrs and content creators were hating on the show to get clicks and likes. You seem to be defending the show, which is what made me curious to watch your video, so the argument could be made that you're doing the opposite of everyone else to get likes and views.
Crazy how your playing with the semantics of "cancelled" when they'd filmed a bridge scene into season 2 and the show runner said she wanted 3 seasons, and now its been shelved due to poor performance and you think we shouldnt use the word "cancel" 😂
@@dddboom Instead of liking your own comment, how about adding proof the show reshot a new bridge scene to season 2 before telling someone they're wrong. I haven't found anything to validate your claim. Talk about coping.
The main reason (and why The Acolyte was right to me cancelled) is that its Anti-George Lucas. Fans who love star wars love George Lucas and his vision and his Lore, the Acolyte activity went against this. Unlike beloved shows such as Mandolorian, Rogue One, Andor . Those that go against (Last Jedi, Acolyte) obviously dont sit right and cause fans to switch off.
I’m bummed out they cancelled it, S2 could’ve improved and gone to some really interesting places. But i understand why they did it, just not why they did it so soon. They could’ve left it hanging like Boba Fett and Kenobi, then maybe returned to it when they have a solid vision.
There are plenty of people and reviewers who enjoyed the show. If you're not seeing any of that, it's probably the algorithms. I've seen plenty of savetheacolyte tags. I didn't HATE it even though there were some bad story choices. (For reference, I HATE ROS.) I actually was immensely disappointed that DP showed up, as I really believed/hoped Qimir wasn't part of Sith lineage because that's more interesting. And also cuz messing with DP seemed like playing with fire. So, even though i wanted more with Qimir, I don't want DP, so I guess I AM ok with cancellation? 😛
It was geared towards Young Adult Fiction. That's not an insult. Adults who want more sophisticated SW are likely to not like this. Folks saying if you dont like it then you aint really a fan is silly bs. Vast majority dont give a crap about someone kissing.
I watched it as a cheap 90’s sci fi show. This show was rubbish! I gave it 1/10 because the writing was poor and the acting was bad. I watched it with an open mind! The ending was crap !
It was garbage! The guys who are claiming in the comments that they are "attacked" or "bullied" by the "toxic and bigoted fans" should start looking at the facts. The story and dialogues were terrible to begin with. If you want flashy CGI then they could have done better with the over $180 million budget. Lastly, this show would have been saved even if it was garbage, if the director and the actors and the corporations didn't gaslight the audience and looked down at them. Anyway, I am surprised the comments section is open for this video.
@@dddboom I don’t blindly hate or like anything. I watched something and decide for myself. Crazy concept, i know. Things like Who Wrote It, How Much Is The Budget, or What Is The RT Score, never enter my mind when i watch a show/movie. Seems like that point of view is becoming the minority view.
@@Piratesi666I was replying to your statement "A fan of a show that enjoys hating on show isnt much of a fan" which doesnt make sense as they are clesrly not fans. Its like you are implying being a fan of "star wars" is the same as being a fan of "the acolyte" when they are mutually exclusive
@@dddboom Your doing a lot of implying with my comment. Its possible to be a SW fan and not enjoy the acolyte. Im saying that if you plan to hate it even before viewing it, then your probably doing it from a disingenuous position.
It’s too bad that Qimir is so tied to Osha at the end. I’d be happy with a spinoff series with his own storyline (and Plagueis)… with some punched up writing of course. (But I still did enjoy watching the show)
Strange that they brought out Manny Jacinto at, the D23 convention, to discuss his role in front of fans only to then cancel his show , as jar-jar would say, "How Rude". I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, the second season is not titled "The Acolyte" but something else, and the story that the Acolyte is cancelled was really just the title only. The cancellation story is coming only from one source "Deadline", so until there is confirmation from Disney, I still have "Hope".
It’s like WandaVision it got canceled by one season and yet we saw her again and Doctor Strange I’m sure we’ll see the characters again and another TV show or movie live action because the high republic and old Republic deserve live action not just games or animation everyone out there who is a true fan of Star Wars like me have faith trust hope and believe in GOD and in the force always
@@JustStarWars and besides, the stranger doesn’t deserve to live after what he did to the Jedi and to Jackie and the twins origin needs to be observed more they are only Anakin Skywalker, who would be Jedi master to them
I'm a casual Star Wars fan, meaning I haven't seen all the movies, or the shows and haven't watched anything more than once except The Acolyte. I've watched it twice. I really enjoyed it. But saying that online got me harassed so much I had to threaten them with alerting the authorities if they continued. That's sad if not psychotic. The same thing happened when I said I liked The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Is it just a loud few? It doesn't feel like it. When I told a co-worker the show had been cancelled and asked if they watched they flat out said no because they heard it was trash. That's a real problem and I don't think Disney is prepared to handle it. Also, I think pirating should be addressed in there somewhere because that too is a legitimate problem. But the vitriol is killing what fandom I have in me. Sill, to end on a positive note, what I loved about the show was the mysteries, the characters, the action and world building. And I liked the flashbacks, though I think they could've been contained to one episode or spread throughout like you suggested. Thanks for your content! Your channel was a nice discovery when I was looking for a non-negative place to talk about the show.
Glad you enjoyed the show man, the issue is many fans, often it seems being led by a loud few. Hopefully you stick around and check out some of the other Star Wars movies and shows too, there’s some good ones there for sure! I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel, that’s what it’s all about over here 😃 hopefully you continue to do so going forwards 😃
I apologize for the negative comments on your posts. As a long-time fan since 1977, before the days of social media, I simply enjoy watching without feeling the need to comment. I've been doing this all along and I really enjoy all the Star Wars content that has been created. Yes, there have been some high points and low points, but I still find it enjoyable. So, my advice is to continue watching Star Wars at your own pace, ignore social media, and just enjoy it.
I think the issue is as you havn't seen all the movies (which is literally Star Wars as an IP before bought by Disney) means you fail to understand the expectations around the related projects. They themselves arent bad shows, but understanding the original trilogy and characters and lore established then they are very much awful (especially in the ones you mention as liking). And therefore your casual viewing and making comments are ruining it for those who arent casual but heavily emotionally invrsted in the Star Wars universe. Hope that makes sense.
Cope harder. Out of the 11 live action mainline films, I have seen all 3 trilogies so I'm fully aware of the lore contained within. And The Acolyte takes place before those movies so even if I didn't have that frame of reference there was nothing in the actual show that needed any of the prior films to understand what was happening. Furthermore, you are emblematic of the Star Wars toxic fandom that tells me I'm not allowed to enjoy the show, or even allowed to comment on it because it didn't meet your expectations. That's sad. "And therefore your casual viewing and making comments are ruining it for those who arent casual but heavily emotionally invrsted in the Star Wars universe." That's just pathetic. So no, your reply doesn't make any sense. Get a life. Please.

I hope the show is renewed because it was a pretty good show and the time period in Star Wars they focused on was something that many of us was curious about. Many of the Jedi knights was relatable. I hope 🤞 it comes back for a second season.
like i said on the stream. even though i really disliked this show(i just didn't feel the vibe) plenty. i really wanted it to continue for about 3 seasons & the expand on it in other mediums.
I liked the show. Compared to Andor, it seems its target audience was young adult novel crowd. but the light saber fights were stellar and the depiction of the Sith apprentice was impressive
