Indeed. Seeing Mr Clunes smile and laugh is fantastic. So many times during the show you just want to see Dr Martin have a bit of enjoyment in his life.
Love from India .It was a coincidence that I start watching this show and now I'm am glued to this show .I have watched many episodes again and again ,still I am not sated .This show is tremendous testament to fact that the show can be witty and delightful without nudity, vulgarity and violence .Kudos to all makers and actors of this show.I am excited for new season .
I happily came upon Doc Martin in 2009/2010 (?) at a very difficult stage in my life and the show became part of my therapy. It made me laugh! Medicine for the soul! Season 9 came as a big surprise to me and I look forward to watching and rewatching Doc Martin. The cast, story line, the characters of Port Wenn, the scenery, the theme music...I love it all.
I love this in USA. Most of English shows we get here on pbs are so beautifully filmed. The care used in major motion pictures is used in these episodic tv shows. Hoorah.
Tune in to ITV3 weeknights, and watch "Heartbeat" now that was a show worth watching. Not too much in the way of violence, but a great set of likeable character, and really good storylines, set in rural 60's North Yorkshire. To think YTV axed this great show for "Emmerdale" One of the worst, most awefully vindictive set of characters on TV right now. Even "Coronation Street" is just as Bad.
My husband and I absolutely love this drama, Martin Cloones is genius, we love the docs, wit, sarcasm and his insults!! But all of the characters are amazing, also love Louisa she is perfect for the part, and the policeman! so funny! We have watched every episode loads of times and never get sick of them, always lightens our mood. One of the best things ever on telly! 😄
Since I discovered the show, I've watched the entire - how ever many seasons there happen to be - over and over every year. I have a not so secret crush on the Doc and love every character, every scenic view, just everything. When I recommend it to friends I simply say "it makes me happy to be alive." Thank you!
My husband and I love Dr. Martin very much. This show has given much pleasure and healing to us. All are lovely characters absolutely including Dr. Martin. From Korean fans♡
I just discovered Doc Martin on Netflix and was captivated from the start. The characters, storyline, setting - everything just works. And the script! It's absolutely brilliant. It's funny without being ridiculous, dramatic without being overwhelming and heartwarming without being soppy! It's the perfect antidote for the depressing COVID-19 times we are living in.
My Mom introduced me to this series some years back. She passed away in 2016, and when this show came to an end, it really left me sad. But it was a wonderful story, and blessings to them all in the future.
Absolutely incredible!!! Doc Martin and Call The Midwives are without a doubt the BEST series I’ve ever seen. I’m so grateful two British TV, hands-down it blows American TV out of the water. Thank you so much♥️
Many Canadians agree, loving both series - Call the Midwife and Doc Martin. Martin Clunes is a wonderful actor!. I love his Warren series, hoping he will continue it as well. COVID stopped so many great productions.
I will be so sad when the end comes, I love this show and my mum and dad got me into watching this show. I have made a wonderful dear friends while belonging to a group over Doc Martin....
Had the pleasure of travelling from Canada, and luckily they happened to be filming. Saw Martin driving a Aston. Walked through Squeezy Belly Alley, bumped into Alan and Ruth. Many Thanks to everyone I involved with this Production. Each new Season keeps touching our hearts and continues to make us laugh. I hope to return someday.
I’m absolutely in love with this series and own all the past shows on dvd. There is nothing like it on TV here in the US. Besides amazing story lines and acting , the scenery is just stunning! I’d love to visit that place sometime.
I agree with everything you posted. Love, love this show! They need to go for many years from now. Stopping at season 9 would be a huge mistake. The actors have steady income by continuing onward with this series. Great characters and storyline. ♥️
You should visit Cornwall sometime you won’t be disappointed, it’s such a beautiful part of the world. I live 10 minutes away from Port Isaac and often go for a walk down to the village for a pint in the Golden Lion Inn.
It's a great show & my wife & daughter, who where in Port Isaac in 2018, tell me it's a fabulous place to have the whole show. Being from Australia, I can fully understand as Martin Clunes thinks Australia is the country that has it all.
Just finally watched an episode this late in the game. Instantly addicted to the max. What a truly great series. Unparalleled in today’s world. Now scrambling to find season nine….
One of the few things in these days that make peoples lifes better. And I love the old way of filmmaking. This is where the story and the quality of the actors counts. You dont need extremly fast cuts and scenes that only last for 0,3 seconds. And you dont need action and effects. You only need a good story an solid work combined with the enthusiasm of the whole team and cast. A brilliant tv series is waht you get. And a huge audience between 5 and 99 years. Thanks to all of you.
I had a trip from New Zealand In 2006 when my daughter was living in UK. I had the option to go with her to France and Italy but I chose Cornwall and Devon. We had to go to port Isaac as Doc Martin was and is one of my favourite program(along with call the midwife). As a nurse I love Docs manner!! I had my photo taken on doc Martin's house step! Unfortunately my daughter's camera was stolen out of her backpack at Heathrow and so we have no pictures of our Port Isaac part of our trip.
I'm REALLY looking forward to this season! Doc Martin is just superb! Clever, Touching, Funny, Dramatic, it simply has it ALL! Perfectly cast, characters are quite real & have become friends to viewers!
I absolutely love this series. I binge watch every night . I got to the last episode of season 8 and started to watch the whole thing all over again. Looking forward to season 9. ❤️
Hooked already ... waiting for the hilarious dialogues between Mr Mastermind himself - being the genuinely know it all Doc Martin and the slightly "thick' villagers .. some who never seem to take offence at his blatant rudeness .. and others who do are proved wrong and he is right ... this program is so good for the soul ..
Ah, love the series for the stunning landscape, characters- Doc Martin(of course) Louisa , Al.. a big salute to all those who work behind the scenes as well. A big thank you for a wonderful series 🤗
I'm a big fan of Doc Martin I started watching a few years back and loved it ever since I am from So Cal and wait every Thursday to watch it. I love the scenery the story line I hope one day to visit there as a tourist. My family finds it funny that I like the show so much they think I would be watching some zombie or reality shows or something. My wife knows when the doc is on it's quiet time lol. Not what you would expect from a big Hispanic male living in LA. Anyways thank you for this great show and I really hope this is not the finale.
Jonathan watch more British shows if you like this. i also like the detective shows, Vera, Inspector Morse, Endeavour, Lewis, all are great and not predictable like the US shows are, the US film makers seems more worried about getting attractive actors than the story line.
Jonathan, well said... if you love Doc Martin! Look out for The Detectorists! Written and staring McKenzie Crook and Toby Jones.. it's gentle british humour and great acting is a very welcome change!
@Jonathan, I have Acorn TV and Netflix, and Amazon Prime, all so I can watch UK TV. Some of the Australian and New Zealand programs are equally as good as Doc Martin, which is one of my favorites!
I live in Tasmania the island state of Australia. Tasmania has a very very similar coastline and feel as Cornwall. In fact we have more than that. Many of our early settlers from Britain were from Cornwall which would explain why we have Launceston the second largest city and it is located on the Tamar River. We have a town called Cornwall and many others besides which have been named after the original in GB. Tin mining was a thriving business until the mid 20th century and was how my maternal grandfather made money after the first world war. My paternal grandparents are descended from Cornish stock originally. So the whole of Doc Martin has significance for me across the other side of the world and I love it. Also fond of Poldark.
In London once I sent a letter to our Headquarters at Hobart House Off Buckingham Palace Road near where The Queen has her main residence. They never received it.I insisted I sent it. 3 MONTHS later it came back from Hobart,Tasmania.....:)
I am so glad they’re making another series I was really hanging out for it well done to all the great actors signing up for another season and the crews involved I am very much looking forward to seeing it on TV in my home Melbourne Australia very very soon 👏👏👍🙋♂️👉🇦🇺
I can never get enough of the beautiful Doc Martin and Port Isaac (Port Wenn). I'm looking forward to this season. I'm here in the USA. I usually watch Doc Martin on PBS but now I've learned they haven't actually purchased all of season 8 and definitely not season 9. I'm heart broken. I'll figure out someway to see it. I've been a follower since day one. I've even seen the two shows that Martin Clunes did prior to the series. Anyway, I love you guys and I think you have a gem of a show and thank you for coming into my life and cheering it up.
I get all the Doc Martin series with my Amazon Prime..pay a little xtra for the English channels but is well worth it!! Acorn TV is where DM is viewed.
This is one of the best shows on television today! Superb everything! We have already watched episode one of season 9 twice in one week! Thank you to everyone who plays a role in the delivery of this impeccable series!
How do you watch it? We‘ve recently discovered it on Amazon Prime and love it, but there are only two seasons for free and only the eighth season is available as OV, first seven seasons are only German.
Found Doc Martin on Netflix and has been a fan eversince. You've got the right formula for a long lasting series. Keep it up guys! Love you Mrs. Tishell!!!
I love this programme and am so stoked that they are continuing on with the show. I know there was talk a few years ago that they were going to stop making the series, but I am very happy that they changed their minds. I have been watching since the character was sort of introduced in the Amazing Grace and Doc Martin movies.
I can not wait for this season to start showing. They are super funny, great entertainment all round. More stuff like this has the capability to make this world a better place I think.
Die Serie hab ich erst vor 3 Wochen bei Amazon Prime endeckt und 2 Staffeln in 3 Tage angesehen . SUPER I only discovered the series 3 weeks ago on Amazon Prime and watched 2 seasons in 3 days. GREAT🇪🇺🇦🇹✅👍
We came to Cornwall on holiday for years and would always meet someone who said; "I came on holiday and never went home". We said "one day we will do that" and finally we did. No regrets!
I would love to visit such a beautiful place, let alone live in a small, loving community like it shows on the show. Cornwall is so serene with such beauty.
Doc Martin is the BEST series EVER!! We're waiting for season 9 on our local PBS station here in the USA. Love the Cornwalls!!! Thank you So much for this clip!!!😍
USA got some tv show release in 1960 and 70' that still run this day and they are boring. This tv show, doc Martin have just 9 sesons and rocks and want more, and more. Understand?
Marvelous drama. Ad soon as the signature tune comes on my Husband and I relax and enjoy. We were fortunate last year to visit Port Issac and see the many famous houses shops and breathtaking views which are always guaranteed from the Cornish coastline. Excellent production and amazing actors. Thank you Doc Martin 👍👏
Thank you cast and crew of Doc Martin for this wonderful show. Have binged watched the series four times end to end over the years. Can't wait for the next instalment.
I'm stuck at home (in Australia) "self isolating" due to CV and have been binge watching this funny, witty, exciting show with all it's incredible characters just LOVING the beautiful Cornish scenery. Thank you thank you. I do worry about the dogs, who I realise are well treated in reality, but no one seems to feed them on the show. I'm imagining them begging leftovers at the pub or scrounging in bins lol.
The first hard thing for folks creating a popular TV show is setting up characters and a basic story line that people will love. Then the real challenge, which many shows fail to meet, is how to let those characters and that story grow without losing appeal. I'd love to think this season of Doc Martin will show us growth in Martin and Louisa.
Watching the whole thing for the third time and it feels like the first time!!! It is so brilliant, funny, clever, full of action that one can never get bored, no matter how many times you see it. Certainly very British, which is one of the reasons why it is so good... The setting, beautiful Cornwall, the superb acting and directing, along with production- all deserve praise, to say the least...
Yes please don't stop making these films! The world DOES need it! It's so Real! Most tv is scifi, murder mysteries, goofy programs, etc.No comparison! Please continue we love all the actors and the dogs! 😊
The most romantic scene I have ever watched anywhere, is when Doc said " I dont know how to live without her". Still brings a tear to my eye, and Im a 6 5" power athlete!!!
My daughter, husband and I have our flight for next summer to visit Port Issac and the reason for this visit is Doc Martin. Love the program and all the actors. In hopes this show will continue on. Huge fan!
Thanks to all who create this wonderful show! And as a dog lover, I am so happy to see the four legged ones taking part as well. Every character is interesting and Mrs. Tishel (sp?) always makes me smile.
Im up to Season 6 and the way he treats the dog is very disturbing to animal lovers. He almost put the dog to sleep which really was terrifying to watch the scene
Absolutely the most brilliantly created television series. Incredibly delightful and perfect mix of comedy, urgency, humanity, romance. Life at it's very complex, and best.
INCREDIBLE series! The image of an intellectual doctor is remembered forever and causes a feeling of respect, you constantly worry about him, especially when there are troubles in his life. Louise is a biscuit herself, who cannot give her husband anything emotionally, but she demands the same from him. I look forward to every series with impatience. It so happened that I watched it for the first time a week ago, decided to review all the seasons and, without stopping, reviewed everything until the 9th season of the 4th series in a couple of days !!! Need more seasons !!!))) Let the story of the doctor continue for many more years! Greetings from Russia from Sochi!
At 3:50 the great actor Joe Absolom says: ‘Cornwall gets into your soul’. Totaly agree, we visited that amazing area two years ago. As an extra surprise we experienced The Fishermen’s Friends amongst a large crowd having the time of our life! A week was much too short but I always become emotional even hearing the word ‘Cornwall’. Grts from Belgium
