Thanks for this great interview! From an Aussie who adores our neighbouring NZers, I just adore the quirkiness of this series & will frequently watch reruns from S1 to 8. There are some fantastic storylines, combined with beautiful scenery and interesting characters & this is why it's one of my favourite shows.

Love the show, on my second time through the seasons. I have watched all of Midsomer Murders, except for the last few seasons. Brokenwood follows that blueprint. Except Brokenwood has the added plus of Kristin, not just eye candy, but with other qualities that magnify her sex appeal.

Ok so they're referencing Scandinavian TV a few times here. This is interesting to me as an American who only found Bron/Broen quite recently and almost by accident (and fell in love with fast and hard)...but also because it is not easy to watch anything but British and American shows here. Very rarely do we have access to anything from anywhere else in the world, and as such, Americans are not aware of it. I mean, it's not like most Americans could find Scandinavia (much less New Zealand) on a map, but it sounds like the Kiwis have a lot more awareness of these things than Americans do, and this is sad for me.
