Justin, you wrote, " I love getting to know a new guitar and finding out what songs are hidden inside." Michelangelo said something similar about sculpting. He said God set the statues inside the marble, and the sculptor sets them free. It makes sense that two master artists would think the same way.
Steve, you won the internet for the day with that one. I've always loved the Michelangelo quote. One of my favorites. JJ, this is the kind of music that stirs my soul.
Your long fingers are like spider legs plucking those strings with such expertise, finesse, with impeccable compositional taste. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. It is really wonderful.
This style connects direct to my soul. I wonder if it is possible to get Justin to come to Wyoming. I guess I could fly out to Asheville to see him. The thing that jumps out is that I can play well enough myself to know what he’s doing. I can feel the fingering and where he’s going next. Maybe with a few more years of practice and listening... I’m 61. I hope I have enough time left!
I am glad to see this guitar back so soon, it’ really excels with all of the bins, hammer ons and slides, not to forget the pull offs. The popping sound is great! Keep up the awesome work.
Great video, our Son has one and it is The best guitar I have played in my 40 years of playing and owning Gibsons and Martins. Hands down. Light as a feather and massive voice
Would sign in 10K times again to like this each and every single time! What an impressive play, style and mood! I’ve always loved the blues, but this made me crazy ‘bout that!
really looking forward to a Justin Johnson tour whenever the smoke clears. I do hope you have that somewhere on your agenda, and if you do please make your way up to Massachusetts!
I'm impressed that J.J. still invites us in to his private world to share his talent rather than charging for it like everyone else. Guitarists are all equal. Justin Johnson is more equal than the others
Oh wow dude. I sit here at work in the sunshine here in North Carolina and the mellow tune along with the warmth of the sun just relaxed me heart body and soul talk about some Zen crap anyone into relaxing with yoga could never come close to how relaxing this was today for me. Thanks Justin for the warmth and pleasantness life has to offer
Just what we all needed today. Something sweet and mellow to relax all this political tension. I could listen to this for hours on end!!! Thank You Justin!
It ain’t the guitar! I see skinny frets which is what I’ve been blaming as the problem with my present guitar. I spent a lot of time with a Taylor 324 which has wonderful thick frets that I thought that was the answer. Now that I’ve seen Justin’s playing I understand it has very little to do with the guitar.
@@DavidHaile_profile I know it’s not the guitar that’s why I didn’t jump on a Martin right off the bat...I just started playing a few months back so I bought a Fender acoustic and it works for me for now...One day I will own a Martin but I’d like to know how to play the guitar before I make a purchase like that.
For a long time, in my youth, I really liked Ronnie James Dio, I collected all his albums: Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, solo albums (it wasn't easy in Russia). Years passed. And I, like a boy, listen to every Justin video. Miracles and nothing more. Thanks to Justin for being creative. P.S. I am writing through google translator, sorry if something is wrong.
Sat at the beach watching the sunset with a Bundaberg Rum(nector of the Queensland Gods) today. Listening to you do, what ya do soooo well!! And then ya post this!! Great minds think alike! Love ya work mate!! All the way from Western Australia👌👍🇦🇺🇺🇲
Heading out to mt families lake house and rest assured as the sun sets I will be listening to me some Justin J as I sip my bourbon. Yep, that’s how you end a day.
'Bout a score back, I heard my first Robert Johnson note...'Bout a score, minus 3 seconds, I knew I would play guitar for the rest of my life, I made no decision, I just had to. I feel that every time I watch you play. Love, brother.
Relaxing bro, I spent a day building a heavy duty work bench, big timbers, its more like a bar right now, im sitting at it right now listening to you jam....thanks
Justin, you hit another one out of the park with this one. Wow. Have you ever thought of doing a duet with a tenor sax? I absolutely love the tenor doing a slow closing time smokey bar room blues solo. You shut your eyes and can see the sax player at the back of the stage just playing for himself after a gig. I can hear the call and response of you and said tenor player tossing it back and forth across the back corners of the stage. For all of you non musicians out there, sometimes when you get done playing a gig, you still have things in you that need to get out. That's the stuff I call closing time wind down. For me (as a trumpet player) I've always gravitated to some slower, lower in the scale etudes or simply noodling around with various scales and making them sound good. Toss in a mute or grab the flugle and let fly... Justin, I really want to hear you with a smokey tenor, it would be epic...
Justin - Incredible playing and graceful as ever. Big respect. What an absolute legend. I love how, when you see Justin playing, you realise that a teacher can only take you part of the way. After that, the learning and flow comes from inside. Some special souls out there have that magic. Thank you for sharing your magic with us.
