How can you compare tonewoods on guitars with different tops such as cedar and spruce? I mean the difference among cedar and spruce tops is way bigger than mahogany and maple backs. Judt sayin. To compare stuff, everything needs to be the same except the thing you would like to compare. Nice guitars though..

Between the 314ce and the 324ce do you like both sounds? I bought a 324ce and I have about 7 days left to decide if I want to exchange it for the 314. I love them both for their styles and sounds. I’m so torn. The 324 is so beautiful too which I know isn’t the most important but in a close battle I turn to the looks. I like the spruce for the way it booms out but yet it’s not as warm and easy as the mohagny too. What to do please help as you’re an expert. Thanks.

This is a great combination but it's TRUE every wood has its own purpose and flavor and texture by the way. Sound wise they all sound great,,,,,,,Martin is about the only comparison in the world in this category.....my humble opinion I play guitarra since the70 s and still is hard to get to know all the difference between the guitars in a blind test😏

Thank you for demonstrating the sound quality of the woods. I have a Flamed Maple and love it, I am looking for something that can produce that bass response and highs as well. Your Rosewood demonstration nailed it for me... a Taylor 214CE Deluxe / Rosewood is what I'm going with. Thank You!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I play on average 3 hours a day, every day. SO there is always room for another variation @@radioactivification

The only concern I have with this demo is that the top woods, which contributes to at least 75-80 percent of the sound, isn’t the same. I happen to love cedar tops, have it on 3 of my guitars. However it’s quite different than spruce. So the cedar/mahogany guitar wasn’t a great choice if trying to demonstrate the difference among back and sides tone woods.

They are different tops so the comparison is invalid as you cannot identify what causes the differences. And the top has more influence on the sound than the back and sides. All shoulve had the sametop and neck and a :/.

@johnlay3040
@johnlay3040 Месяц назад
I think you have the wrong focus. While the back and side of the guitar contribute to the sound, the most important sound producing part is the top. Therefore, the discussion should the tone woods for the top, such as cedar and spruce. Cedar is normally meant western red cedar, but spruce can be European, Sitka or Engelman. They all sound different. The back is of secondary important. I personally think the use of mahogany is a waste of good wood. If you can still get it, you better use it for the neck. Many Spanish luthiers have to use inferior wood, such as Spanish cedar for the neck, because mahogany is getting rarer.

The singing voice is more important than the sound of the guitar accompanying it.

The author tell the truth. Rosewood leaves the space for the middle range human voice to complete the balance . All the others are good for playing only and will fight the voice.

Not helpful. The difference is predominately from the top-woods, not from the back-and-side woods that you are trying to demonstrate. That being said, I'll take the mahogany/cedar every time. Thank you.

what guitars do you like?
@PanosKonstantinou
@PanosKonstantinou 4 года назад
@@floridarealestate1904 My top american guitars are the Guild's . Some Martin's are also sounding good,but Guild's have more elegant mellow and rich sound with full low end and pleasant overtones.Most American brands have razor bright trembles that I personally dont prefer.. The playability also is unbeatable for me.. My first choice of all though,is definately the LOWDEN's . If you ever play a Lowden (Irish acoustic guitars),you'll understand the big difference! Now for the Taylor's , I owned a Taylor 914ce (2012) ...I sold it after 7-8 months..You only buy the name and the looks,and you pay it really well! Unplugged sound is very compressed ,and the electronics (ES1) makes the guitar sound like a $299 guitar. Sure its a beautiful guitar to look at, but for that kind of big money (mine costed around $4.500,nowdays costs even higher!!), you can buy a lot more of a guitar!!
