His Voice, His Range, and the way He Phrases the Words in "Old Habits". IMO one of the Most Haunting. Displays of Heartbroken Vocal Prowess in Music History
He stayed at the Hilton one time in a master suit in the eighties and shot a couple bullet holes in his room , Back in the day Hank was a man some people was scarred of, I was painting the Hilton at the time and fixed them holes
Never heard of that but saw him in muscle shoals shoot out a couple lights before they dimmed them. Hank kept saying dim the lights! So he came back with a lever action and dimmed them
I have got to be one your oldest fan possibly the oldest I have folling you sense you were 14 I am 72. And you are 70 please me at 606 s ave n. Clifton TX 76634
I was there too… senior year, with three of my buds… two of them already gone. Hank ended this set calling for his guitar tech to take his guitar cause he told us he had to take a piss
Man I’m begging you to please upload the whole show …. I can’t tell you how much these acoustic sets from all these various shows have helped me get through the toughest time of my life (so far) … I been a disciple of the man since I was old enough to walk …but every single show I’ve been to was always mainly for the portion of the show where he gets the stool out and it’s just him and the flattop ….my first show was 91 vbcc and I was 7….im a tape trader myself but never knew how to get the Bocepus stuff out there…I was very close to Joe Hamilton who played bass in the bama band but he didn’t have any bootlegs and since passed away a couple years ago….. but he did give me a full account of the “O’D’ in Denver” true story…please continue to bless us with there rare gems…
Were you the fella that got thrown out before the show started and the house lights were still on? I was at this show… my senior year of HS… fourth in a row at Huntsville
What a range in his vocals!!! Geez!!! Bocephus was at his best during this time period!! Would love to hear whole concert!!! Saw him first time in 1981 @ Longhorn ballroom in Dallas. Fantastic!
@CC Cruiser hey brother put up the whole show on here . I saw Hank in 86 in Memphis. Same tour I guess I think it was at the mid south coliseum and he said was making a live album. Moved back home to GA in 92
I been to at least 15 bocephus shows. The band don't just walk out. They know when he gets in the mood to go into this type of melodies. They are no longer needed. He will sit down and play this kind of stuff for rest of show, he will sometimes play cash, waylon. Hank sr. Elvis, zz top, he is the baddest mother fker to ever take a stage. Until you go see him you have no idea how good he is playing guitar. You could stack up every artist in Nashville today and they wouldn't fill one of hank jrs boots
+MrHankfan77 I know he put out one album Hank live I had it on cassette when I was twelve I wasn't at this concert but I did go to the one ten years later in1996 he was there with Lynyrd Skynyrd & Billy Joe Shaver who wrote Alot of Waylon songs the concert was in the parking lot of the Joe Davis Stadium Hank done his set & came back out to play t for Texas with Skynyrd my first concert then I was 16 then great memories
Yea I can agree,,... Bocephus was banned from the Von Braun Civic Center ( VBCC) in Huntsville, Al because they alleged he was too wild yet they welcomed Motley Crue, and all of the hair bands! (?) how wild do you have to be to get banned from a place making money off of your show? But it is a fact,.. Hank Jr was banned from the VBCC!
