This was so great. Kind of great timing. I totally know how this happens and thirty some years later I am needing to go through and clear things out. I know I don’t need another deck but I see something unique and there I am. What a great story and discussion. I also just love having access to decks that work in every situation.😊
I relate to almost every scenario/situation you presented. I’m currently in the mind of decluttering my collection down to fit a specific sized space. I don’t have the room for anything new to come in. I have decks that I know my time with is over. It’s now become a question of where to find them new homes or whatever since they are mass market. Great video! I lurk around on RU-vid and don’t comment often, but I enjoy your content and perspective. 🙂
You are so wise my friend. I am starting to feel the need to either reorganize or to start moving things out of my collection and perhaps a bit of both. Tarot and Oracle are my passion so I don't see that stopping anytime soon, however I need to make wiser choices with what I purchase and be more mindful. I absolutely love my collection though, and I'm so grateful that I have all these options with it. Great video! 😍😍😍
Really enjoyed listening to this. I have made so many mistakes with purchasing to quickly. I stopped doing this a couple of years ago and felt so much better. However, in the last two months I have bought 3 decks but these are really helping on my health journey. I do need to look through my collection and pass on what I no longer need, make some space for change. Thank you for sharing 💜
Enjoyed this video tremendously. Knew I would, just from the title. You hit all my categories except: decks you collected because you knew they were pivotal to one of your fictional characters. Because they ARE.
Thank you for this. This was so so so good. Yes. It's like you narrated my entire story of my tarot journey 😂 including the box of decks for $50 that had some unicorns and the vintage deck rabbit hole. I love having choices. Am I sometimes overwhelmed by my choices? Yup. But. I'm also the reader who brings about 25 decks (combined oracle and tarot) to the shop when I read. I read often with multiple decks for 30 minute readings and many times that last deck I put in my bag is the one my last client really needed that day. The seasonal thing. And the memories. Oh the memories. I often buy a deck from a shop when I travel and some of those have become fast favorites. There is a joy in collecting and using, or not, the decks that I have. There's a joy in re homing a deck or gifting one to someone. There's just joy in my collection. Thank you!!
I'm pretty sure I remember you talking about the box of decks! 🤭 We have more in common than we even suspect. Thank you for hanging around with me. I love your videos!💞
Oh I enjoyed this so much! It's almost a relief when you realize you're at a point of discernment when it comes to decks. I still bring in a few that "aren't my type" but *usually* I wind up liking them despite (or maybe because of) that.
I see you, hear you, and thoroughly appreciated your kind words of wisdom ❤much needed to be spoken about, I'm seeing many start to come to similar realizations. Love this for all ❤
Wow, you just described all the ups and downs of my tarot collecting journey. Thanks for articulating all these experiences as someone who has also been there and done that!
Wait? You have a list?... 😳 I think (now know) I am currently failing at being a proper Tarot Deck collector. And I wouldn't even know where to begin at this point. 🤦🏻♀ Great video and I relate to it in every way. Tarot collecting can become a daisy chain wrapped around a rabbit hole on the deep edge of a very enticing abyss. The beautiful and the horrible all at once. And frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way. ❤
My lists are handwritten and epic... going back around 10 years... like a seven style serial killer! 🥸🔪 I have so much respect for the collectors who keep everything neatly on an app or Excel. I favor the Bic pen. 🖊
Thank you for this. Your accepting and calm way of presenting made me feel less anxious about the overload of decks I have, many of which I would like to trade or sell but am too far away from most markets. Mostly I've given to charity stores but have a number that deserve a better re-homing practice. Riff away some more!
