Fun fact, cliffs are one of the best places to find dinosaurs! Not because they died and got fossilised there- if there was a cliff when the animal died, any bones will probably be ground down and washed to sea- but because cliffs are where rocks crumble away, so you have lots of visible and recently-unveiled rocks at the base of the cliff to look through.
@@T_BDK Там, где жил этот динозавр, жарко и мокро! Там много древесного угля от многих пожаров, а камни сделаны из песка и глины, которые мы находим в реках.
Amazing as usual. Those shots where it looks like someone managed to attach a camera to the Acro's back is one of the most unique things I've ever seen in paleo-media; I don't think anyone's ever even tried that perspective in the genre.
Truly amazing 👍 The return of Arcocanthosaurus; one of the most overlooked carnivorous dinosaurs! It was around the size of an elephant! Nightmare fuel! Keep up the great work :)
I've just come across your channel and I have to say your work is stunning. The camera angles, pan shots and unique take on dino behaviour is second to none. In part one you really had a sense of being there. Your work puts most dino docs to shame. Thank you for sharing your work with us. A true delight and wonderful surprise to the start my day.
Wow, Ithink this must be your best video yet, Julian! I'm always amazed at the level of detail you pack into each one you do, as well as the fact you aren't afraid of depicting different forms of weather. I loved the fact you have a herd of Nodosaurs in this one. This group always seem to lose out to the club tailed ankylosaurs, but I have a soft spot for them as one genus, Polacanthus, was found here in the UK. Your reconstruction of the acros was brilliant, too, giving them ridged backs half way between humps and full on Spinosaurus sails. The truth is that while the neural spins on their vertebrae were larger than usual, they were no where near as exaggerated as the Spinosaurus' were. I loved the POV from just above the acros heads when the finally faced off against the nodosaurs: it brings an immediacy to the battle a side on view doesn't, and makes you appreciate that, tail club notwithstanding, a faceful of spiky tail has got to hurt. The black sand looks so dramatic... and I did notice the part buried skeleton as the Acro circled the herd looking for a weak spot! Finally, I assume it was deliberate, but the overhead shot of the huddled nodosaurs as they fended off the acros looked to me like a very spiny and very active starfish!
hello Carolyn thanks very much for your lovely comments I'm glad you enjoyed it and well spotted on the skeleton i do sometime put things in scenes to see if anyone notices 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 best wishes !! ❤️
I love this SOOOO much! The defense circle done by the Sauropeltas was so unique and the Acro hunting fails were done very realistically. So inspiring! 😁👏👏👏
Awesome video! Acrocanthosaurus is tied for my favorite dinosaur and I love how you have portrayed it as an intelligent, powerful and active hunter who doesn’t always succeed. The animation, models and environment all look great! Excited for parts 3 and 4!
That was glorious and EPIC! Thank you for not making the Sauropelta seem weak and dumb the way most documentaries do with the plant eaters. The way the herd gathered around in a defensive circle was great surprise. I have only seen horned dinos doing that. Imagine if Stegosaurs was depicted doing that? And they literally had each others back was amazing to watch! Hollywood eat your heart out...
thanks black. yes i wanted to show its not easy to hunt a prey and they won't give up there life easy, i do hope to make a Stegosaurs some time, would be fun to work out some kind of possible defense idea
You are really talented - this looks great. I could easily watch a full length movie of this. If hollywood had any sense they'd be beating your door down trying to sign you up. Your work is impressive 👍
This series deserves millions of views. So many onscreen components at once and the animation is so life-like. Worthy of being featured in a dino documentary.
Incredible. I mean, wow. Who are you? How do you do such magnificent work? This was breath-taking. Especially the drone shot at the end of those swinging tails.
Loved the reverse Musk-oxen defensive circle that the Gastonia form, since their tails are their primary weapon, rather than their head as in Musk oxen.. It's speculative behaviours like this that I love seeing in paleo media! Great job as always!
So crazy, in my old Gen X pessimistic age I don’t get excited over much anymore but your videos make me feel like it’s Christmas! So outstanding, thank you! Better than the recent Apple documentary.
Dude this is incredible and deserves way more attention!!! Hats off to you bro, love all things dinos and this is sick! Putting the big studios to shame
1:22 The shot of the Acros entering the beach is both beautiful and terrifying! It reminds of the Allosaurus entering the ravine to attack the Stegosaurus in WWD. You've come a long way to tell stories that is equally welll crafted, full of drama and life!
Love you showing a failed hunt! Makes it feel more real, also the way the Sauropelta defense is shown is pretty intimidating, a wall of swinging spikes.
I love the new camera angles you used for this one. From the head mounted shot on the Acro, to the drone like hover angel over the soropelta. On top of some of the most action packed scenes I've seen in a long time. I always look forward to watching your videos, and I'm really excited to see what could come next.
This is a great work of art! Added to this is the fact that I’m old(er) and to see CGI dinosaurs in action is something that thrills me to no end. And as opposed to films like Jurassic Park, yours has no breaks in the dino action. Screw the plot!😀. Yours is so well done, too. I love it when it takes the perspective of either a hand-held camera, or better yet, a Go-Pro strapped to the animal’s head or back. I look forward to Part 3!!! 🦕🦖
I so look forward to your video drops. They transport us to another time and place with no corny dinos run amuck in a shopping mall or distracting voiceovers. Just a window on a world marvelous to contemplate. Continuing thanks and appreciation for your fine work.
Already better than Jurassic World Dominion and whatever the fk part 2 was. The last fight sequence of this is pure art. The way they move together with their plates lining up is GENIUS and looks natural! This has got to be one of your best so far.
The 3rd person shot following that one Acro that was circling the Ankylosaurids looks like a gameplay demo! Beautiful, incredible stuff Julian. I can't wait to see what you put out next. Good luck on your future endeavors and videos!
not sure if i even wanna know how 'fun" it was to animate every pteranadon in all those shots. im sure some trickery was done here and there but theres still 40+ of them moving individually in a shot XD
Well-made and a pleasure to watch! BTW I remember, when I was about 7 years (over 50 years ago), me standing in our back yard on an early winter evening, looking at the raising moon and the stars and by this getting a sense of the vastness of time; thinking if I would ever get a chance to watch these my beloved long-gone dinosaurs how they really were. True story! Now, we came very close, I'd say - thank you for sharing this.
Now this was really enjoyable to watch, accurate weather for the time they lived in, hunting behaviour that makes alot of sense, attack and defence co-ordination by both Acrocanthosaurus and Sauropelta, and the inclusions of Petrasaurs on the coast line. Even more accurate, the predators fail, more often than they suceed! And most of all, graphics and design was very well done in all aspects! Loved every moment of this, can't wait for the next episode! Well Done!
@@johnsonmortimer Glad you were thinking the same thing, its always good to see. Thanks for the love and reply, and im looking forward to seeing the next episode in the future!
Just terrific, Julian! You have such an imagination for new ways to view these interactions. I thought it was genius having the Sauropeltas form a circle with their heads on the inside and the spiky tails waving on the outside. I also thought it looked very believable! Good for you! Can't wait for the 3rd installment!
Three watches in and only just noticed the skeleton in the rockpool. Love your videos, Julian. They are beautiful, provocative, awesome and just brilliant. It is easily my favourite content on RU-vid. Thank you!
It's so wild how someone with a good laptop, ample hard drive space, some skill and tenacity can bust out a dino docu better than major productions like Walking with Dinosaurs. Great job!
Wow that was great. Fantastic idea with the defensive position, and the visual itself of the giant sea star-like formation on the stony beach was really awesome. This is comparable to the very best of BBC and whatnot! Wow!
I just want to say I’ve been watching your content for the last couple of years and this stuff is insane and it just keeps getting better, keep it up 👌🏽💯
This animation is right up there with any documentary. You should so do a feature length documentary (preferably on Ceratosaurus, my personal favorite).
The unbeatable Fortress of bone and flesh, beasts than not even the giant hunters are capable of taking down A truly magnificent video, and the behavior shown is Just as awesome
Impressive Bro.. the wide angle screen coverage given the feel of IMAX experience in many shots. This is epic work.. many more to mention.. the details of skin, aerial shots, lighting, weather textures, camera movements, wow wow wow.. my words can't express your work.. and music, sound mixes, this is legend and a masterpiece. Original one as well, no one have showed or tried to this extent. keep going bro! Thanks for sharing.
I love the animations, the models and the color palette but the way you showed their strategy makes takes this part to a whole new level. The only thing that I haven't seen yet from your videos is a kill with a prey screaming as it struggles to survive.
This is amazing and much better than previous versions this animation actual 🔥! And the scene you got to see the 3d person view it felt like playing the isle!
amazing stuff. I've never heard of this predator. There are so many dinosaurs its impossible to know them all and more are being named all the time. Astounding what paleontologists are doing bringing the past creatures back into our lives even if its just the knowledge that they existed
Stunning ! Worth all the work you've put in it. :D I love the change, in the point of view. Almost as if someone was on the predator's back. And nice way of showing how that kind of prey could defend themselves. :) Thanks for sharing.
Epic! The next part to this little series of videos with the Arcocanthosaurus in them. This is well put and done Wonderfully. Well done here! Keep up the great work in your other videos.
Pretty cool and amazing breathtaking animation of the Acrocanthosaurus, it looks amazing in my opinion. I wonder if you’re gonna do a full movie on the dinosaurs from the Early Cretaceous Period or not or maybe just some parts because we adore your beautiful work on these dinosaurs.
You know what something I don't see often is swarms of animals people often depict prehistory as just as full of animals as today. but honestly you'd see swarms of animals everywhere. TLDR thank you this is great thank you
I feel like even a group of Acrocanthosaurus wouldn’t bother to attack one Sauropelta, (let alone five) but I guess they were down on their luck and hungry enough to risk the injury? Still not a lot of payoff if they managed to get one. It’s essentially the equivalent of lions hunting porcupines lol
I love how the Acros effortlessly traverse through the rocks and boulders like its nothing and amble around then trip and fall like blundering clumbsy gaint toddlers. Almost like they adpated to live there or something XD
You are the best animator but could you include wounds and blood next time? Because the Acros would have had deep gashes along their necks and face from those hits like those, from the ankylosaurids.
