Wonderful tale. Though not to this degree of distance, I undertook a similar trip in my youth. Listening to the exquisite detail woven in the journey set me reminiscing about mine.

Been following this on Google maps. Very interesting. Would love to have seen some of the photos he took of the various towns and compare them to now.
