When I hear this song, I think of running through the woods with my friends, carefree. Just me, my friends and the forest. It just makes me feel so good inside, it just brings a smile to my face.😌😀
I played this song in orchestra back in 6th grade, and that was right before my big life problems started happening. So whenever i listen to this I remember the happy days.
I played this song in chamber orchestra in 7th grade. I am a sophomore now in my high school’s symphony orchestra but this is still the best piece of music I’ve ever played. I am flooded with emotion every time I play and it just brings such a rush to me. This. This right here is the epitome of what orchestra means to me. I’ve had a roller coaster of emotions just like in this song. This is such a beautiful song I will remember forever. Thanks, Doug for such a wonderful composition. If you’re out there, thinking about quitting orchestra or your instrument, try to stick with it because you will one day find your across the wind :)
I remember first hearing this in 8th grade and fell in love with it. I just graduated, and throughout high school, I’ve had the opportunity to play in different youth orchestra playing Shostakovich symphony no. 5, Scheherazade, Tchaikovsky romeo and juliet overture, yet, I always come back to this piece. It does not require immense difficulty or complexity to be interesting or beautiful. What an amazing piece
Through my journey as a musician, I remember this as the 1st piece that I have ever played in my orchestra.....It still brings back memories when I was a beginner.
this may seem morbid, but in my will, i will write that i want this song played at my funeral. i feel like it signifies a passing into the afterlife with god. you are flying with the birds up to heaven, and it’s such a wonderful song.
R2Catastrophic I'm playing this too but not for school, I'm part of a group out of school. I'm in such grade and I play second violin. It's not that hard but it's still fun :)
A truly amazing song. Our orchestra is great. I am going to ask if we can play this song for our concerts this year. I like the calm parts and then they jump to the melody. I can picture our conductor directing this song.
Donna Yocum Basses have a very important function in ensemble music - you're the foundation for the piece's harmony. But I try my best to give you some melody whenever possible.
Liam Fiddler Check out Samba Del Sol, Star of Valor, Unbridled, A Spark of Courage and Enter the Laureates (to name a few). And it doesn't have to be in a major key to be happy. I think of Argent Edge and Iroquois Journey as being rather joyous.
This sounds like ost from a Hallmark Family channel movie where some cute golden retriever puppies arrive at their new home and loved by little timmy, but then get they lost and into trouble, but then Boom saved! A-----nd ends with them playing with the family. Ah,happy ending.
