I just ordered some acryl gouache because I LOVE painting with gouache and I have heard the acryl stuff has really unique properties, and that you can paint it on just about any surface. So this video was exactly what I was looking for, thank you. Earned a subscriber.
thank you for showing/explaining to me what gouache is. and your voice made it even more relaxing and better to focus as someone who is going back to her roots, and painting again after many years. I am primarily an acrylic painter at heart, but am trying to understand and learn different mediums to create different effects.
I had never heard of this Acryl Gouache so I looked it up. Just watched a video on Jerry's Artarama about the differences. Seems like the Turner and probably Holbein is the real stuff, but Liquitex acryl gouache is just Matte soft body acrylic paint, not gouache. They have good comparisons between Liquitex and Turner showing how Liquitex is not opaque, doesn't have the same pigment or coverage or real gouache.
I love the holbein acrylic gouache paint but its so expensive. For a 24 set you pay 97,95. Thats crazy😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😭. Too bad. I realy want to try it. Thanks Ursula for all of you,re video,s. Merci beaucoup 👍🏼👋🏼😀
what i did was buy the "mixing set" where you buy 5 12 ml tubes for $40 USD and you can basically make any color from those. it takes a little more effort to learn mixing and getting the right colors every time, but much cheaper and you learn a lot about color and mixing :)
Thank you for this video :) I have a question- what do you think about layering acrylic gouache on top of acrylic- yes or no? And what do you think about mixing acrylic or water color with acrylic gouache or regular gouache? I have been playing with acrylic gouache for a while now and I love it! Sometimes I mix in white acrylic because I have more of it and it seems to be working OK so far… but I wonder if I am just getting lucky and one of these paintings will end up cracking up on me. I wonder what your experience is. Thank you, Ursula :)
I’ve been using watercolor and picked up my gouache paint (which i bought 2 years ago) again just a few days ago! Then i stumbled upon acryla/acrylic gouache and i wanted to give them a try. Do they need water to spread evenly like normal gouache? Or can you use them out of the tube?
@@UrsulaNaturelle Thank you!! Will definitely buy Holbein paint once I earn enough to buy the 15 pcs set. Subscribed to your channel as well as your content is very nice! ❤️
Do you know if you can mix acrylic and gouache? Im traveling soon and want to bring a little of both but the acrylic is large and the gouache dries and flies around the palette. I'm mostly bringing watercolor but thought maybe I can mix them and bring them so I have an opaque paint for bases.
@@wronglayerbutok I didn't. So I bought these little cubes at the dollar store and put gouache in them, sprayed water, taped them shut. They survived- are moist. But if I had a do-over I would have just bought paint here (Croatia). It's WAY cheaper. I do mix wc and gouache/ or gesso and acrylic and thats all I've tried. Good luck!
@@tisaloewen7051 ooh that’s Interesting! When you mix wc and gouache what results do you get? I have wondered that. Do you make a watercolor base and then use gouache for the highlights? Whenever I use watercolor i end up drawing over with markers to emphasise the dark parts, even adding acrylic sometimes, but maybe gouache will add that too without adding thickness?
Hello Ursula. Comment vas-tu😊 hahah. I am not fine at the moment. I have a trauma from the past and i need to proces that.
