Thank you so much! Much appreciated! I liked the look of your finished product when scouring YT for ideas of what I could do with all the plastic containers I've collected together in order to put some potpourri I'm making as gifts for Christmas! What a job, I tell you! The whole place smells like a lavender farm, so, sitting here quite spaced out and glad that you took the time and patience to make this vid. I know how difficult it is at times. So, for anyone who's gonna have received one of the painted plastic containers filled with LAVENDER potpourri from me, then please know that I took the idea of the painting from here. In fact, thinking about it, YT has become quite a mentor for me through daily life! Anyways, dear HanieB. (C.~)™reations© 2008-2014. All rights reserved, I thank you for your creativity and patience. I had to copy/paste coz the eyes aren't that good! Hope I can do the lovely pattern that has inspired me to carry on with my task on all those throw away things! Love it! Best wishes to you and yours, raine :-}

+Raine Carosin You are welcome. I'm glad to see someone getting use from this idea. It took me quite a while to figure out how to get the paint NOT only to stick, but so that it doesn't wear or peel off when you actually use the bottle. It seems that it can take a while for people to catch up to my ideas, but if you think about it these bottles can really come in handy for a ton of different uses. If you want you can also use Sakura Gel Glaze pens to decorate or doodle onto once you have painted the base. The ink dries, and hold up so well! I love how the bottles turn out. Here is my video using those if you are interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g3Z_adCJFJc.html Thanks for watching, and commenting.

The spray paint is called Rust-Oleum. It comes in a large variety of colors. Rust-Oleum It's specific spray paint for plastic. What I was saying in the video is that if you don't want to use your own art to decorate them, you can just choose a solid color of your choice instead. I chose the cream color because it makes a great base color for my art work, and I know anything I use (markers, acrylic paint, or whatever), will show up; and, depending on what medium I choose to paint with, will determine weather or not I use the clear lacquer (also made by Rust-Oleum). For instance if I use the "Sakura- Gel Glaze pens", It's not necessary to use a clear lacquer to seal, because they actually create that gloss, and if the bottle is prepared well, they will not come off once dried. I hope this helps clarify things a bit. As with any project I share here, I only share experiments that actually work. HanieB.(C.~)™

is that Rust-Oleum Plastic Spray Paint just like adhesive promoter?
@HanieBCreations

+Henry “Adda” Chaisritha Hi. Thanks for asking. I'm not sure about adhesive promoter. It's just paint for plastic. I have found that Rus-Oleum makes a 2x coat which also works awesome for this project. Hope I have answered your questions.

Can i use acrylic paint as a base
@HanieBCreations
@HanieBCreations 8 лет назад
Well Yes & No. Let me explain. It really depends on what you plan to do with the containers. If you plan to handle them a lot-- Use them to hold Trinkets, Keys, or to Hold Small Objects, or have them near water in a beach bag, boat or anything like this, than NO-- Acrylic Paint-- will not hold. Your art work will just peel off. This is precisely why I have shared this method. It took me a couple years to figure it out. I've already tried everything! If you prep, and pre- paint these containers with my suggestions and plastic paint first, than you can do just about anything with them, and your art work will not come off even if you handle them a lot. Mine are still just as they were since I painted them, even with all the handling I have done. I also really like using Sakura Gel Pens, the Glaze pens hold Really well, and create a whole new look. I've been meaning to do more videos of what can be done with these little gem of containers I just wanted to see how much of an interest was actually there. Where are you from, are you unable to get Plastic Paint? Because I think there might be other base products that could work in the Art Department.
