Fine Art TV Series - Colour In Your Life
Season - 08
Episode - 10
Filmed on Location at - Mullumbimby, NSW Australia
Solveig has always been an artist. From a young age she sat and watched, observing life and people and herself in the world. She was fascinated with the way one represents life to oneself in images and words. Both visual and auditory art fascinated her as a child, and she indulged in lots of games, creative play, experimentation, writing and drawing.
As Solveig grew this developed and expanded. After finishing high school, she went to the National Art School in Sydney with a scholarship for a Painting and Sculpture Diploma. It was the total artist’s experience, deep in a bohemian burlesque and cabaret life engaging in colourful creative expression of every kind.
After college Solveig became a mother of three, stealing creative moments in between childrearing. She also became a psychologist and hypnotherapist, establishing herself in the beautiful community of Mullumbimby. Since 2000 Solveig has been able to commit to her artwork on a more full time basis, practicing and developing her craft, creating works that fill her gallery.
You can contact the artist about their art tips or art techniques directly via their website www.solveig.com.au/

I use a computer and projector for laying out virtually all my paintings... it's quick, accurate and, if needed, you can utilize the computer to edit or adjust the image on the fly. I have had people tell me it's cheating, but, at the end of the day, I still have to paint the picture!.... For me, it's just a lot quicker than grid scaling or similar image defining techniques. The most significant benefit of using the computer and projector is for laying out large wall murals. I love these artist visit shows, I learn something new with every one I watch... Thank You.

I am interested in using a projector like the one here. I checked on Amazon, and there are so many. I am interested in projecting on a large canvas, so the brand name would be so helpful.

Muchos ocultan el uso de proyector... creo que Solveig es honesta y buena pintora.

Excellent episode, I really like Solveig's style! I'm curious would Colour In Your Life be coming to Canada in the future?
@ColourinyourlifeAu
@ColourinyourlifeAu 8 лет назад
+Hermione Jarvis Hi Hermione, we do charge a fee to be on the show and most Artists cant afford it, even though it is not a lot, we have to pay our bills some how, but if there were enough Artists in Canada we would love to come and film there, Graeme

+Graeme Stevenson (Colour in Your Life) Oh yeah, I didn't think about fees, I had thought that your show was being funded through fans and/or a program of some sort. Maybe one day. :-)

+Graeme Stevenson (Colour in Your Life) Where in America are you visiting? When will you be returning (if you left)? I would love to meet you I believe your doing amazing work. As an artist it would be a pleasure to meet you! Im in Washington, DC

+Kreativ Mess We have just arrived back from Miami in the last two days and head back to film again in June. Our schedule is so full these days that unless an Artist is being filmed for the show we simply dont have the time to do anything else. We are expanding across the U.S very quickly these days, so you never know when we will get to DC, Graeme

projecting is lame. love your videos though
@PumpkinStrikesBack
@PumpkinStrikesBack 9 лет назад
***** The great dutch an italian masters of 500 years ago already used projection with lenses and mirrors onto canvas. That's how they achieved their stunning realism. It's not lame at all.
@LeoNardo-lb1ij
@LeoNardo-lb1ij 9 лет назад
PumpkinStrikesBack it's pretty lame to me, no matter who does it. It takes all the expression out of the line drawing. I guess back then it was fine, but now that we have photography, there's really no legitimate reason to project
@Dallas-Nyberg
@Dallas-Nyberg 8 лет назад
+Leo Nardo I beg to differ... a lot of my paintings are based on something I have drawn...I scan the drawings into my computer and then project them onto my canvas.... they are not photographs, they are my drawings. I can scale them up to fit just about any sized canvas using the computer and projector. I can also make an alterations to my drawings using software on the computer.... welcome to the 21st century....Cheers

+Dallas Nyberg yes but the artist in the video is NOT projecting her drawings. she's tracing a photo. and it does take some of the "art" out if it, and places it in a "craft" zone.
@hermionejarvis648
@hermionejarvis648 8 лет назад
+Dallas Nyberg Hi, I agree with you, technology is something many artists have used for centuries now, it's just more advanced than the past, and it's not cheating. It still takes a trained eye and mind to do everything else, technology is simply helping us to not waste time.
