I owned pubs/nightclubs any that go past 1am are ALAWAYS trouble and never make a lot of money once people are pissed... violence, trouble, drugs, crime always goes up expotentially past 1am.

Can understand the police wanting to send them on their way, but filing charges in relation to fighting is ridiculous. The officer submitting false testimony and dodgy paperwork makes him a bigger idiot than they were.

I think that bit of a push and shove was going to lead to a bit of biffo if it had kept going, even though they are mates. Although it was only early, that part of Canberra becomes a bit of a war zone once a few people are out with a skinful. The cops were right to come down hard, but lying and making false reports is absolutely appalling and this isn't the first time beat cops have been caught lying about events.

The public servants in Canberra are so corrupted - this is from personal experience - following the death of my son. I am glad the Court did not protect the cops in this case. If only the Court would be so sensible over all government official maladministration, false testimony/documents etc

These cops were too patient with these drunk entitled tossers.

Clearly both Jack and Latrell were both intoxicated to the point where they shouldn't have been served more alcohol and therefore should not have been on licensed premises. That being said there was also no need for the police to take Latrell to the ground, that only escalated the situation.

Should have just followed police orders and went home.

What if they weren't "all mates" and things went south . If there were only 1or 2 police,it would get out of control very quickly and people would most probably get hurt. That would end up being the fault of police too. To march right up to LEO's and say "don't you know who I am?" is completely ludicrous. Why couldn't they have answered what was asked and followed direction ? This group weren't the only people trying to have a night out. Anyone who has to deal with drunken people has all my respect and sympathy. It's a lose -lose situation

Is that (the Night Club) in Canberra? There used to only be one which was a seedy place. Canberra is not a party town. More like swingers town. I didn’t see any fights but they were a bit drunk, enough not to be served anymore alcohol. These young men should just stay away from places like that. Drink somewhere more private or better. You earn enough money you don’t need to go there. Go to a small pub and if you want to get drunk do it at home with mates where you are safe. You will be targets, Australians don’t like tall poppies. Save your wages for the future as your career might be short.

I’m all for supporting the cops but I’m glad these guys took it through the system and won. Ridiculous that they arrested them for this, his mates had it under control and they are clearly moving on.

Expenses should fall of the police who were happy to fabricate the story yet again. NSW Police nay all Police in Australia should be held at a higher level of accountability.
